As expected, popular ETH0 group released proper version of Win XP Pro with Service Pack 3 integrated. Don’t let “Student Edition” tag in the name fool you. Under the hood it’s same version as Corporate Edition, but this “Student” doesn’t require any WGA cracks, activations or whatever. Does anyone know if eth0 release will have problems if i nLite it. Because i had eth0 xp + sp2 release before, tried to nlite it, and it reported me missing files when i wanted to install windows.

Badger – Sorry mate I don’t know, do Eth0 customise the installations at all? Like remove files they see unnecessary? Maybe your copy was just a little corrupt?
Estacado – I dont have problems with RlsLog being down however for my friend it does says “Server not found” a lot even if at the same time I’m on it with no problems. Only issue I have is the big advert that takes over the site for a few seconds some times crashes my firefox.
Luckily i already have a genuine untouched Student edition so i can make my own one of these.

I am currently using previous Student Edition from Eth0 and it works like charm! And it really doesnt’ require any activation or cracking and Windows Update works perfectly verifying your copy as legit! IMHO the best WinXP you can get. Downloading it now… Long live Students!

Well, I downloaded this, and as with all ETH0 torrents I’ve downloaded I get the message “The Product Key You Entered Is Invalid.” Don’t know what it is about their releases, but everytime I’ve gotten one, (about 4 times) I have to find a key online. Ended up going with a different one (Performance Edition) that I found on Demonoid. Seems to be doing ok, but can’t get the UAA HD Audio Bus Driver to install correctly or something. Sound still works for movies and stuff, but not microsoft sounds. I would link it but Demonoid is doing maintenance right now.

Nope. It doesn’t have IE7 and WMP11. So I’ll wait for a release wich will include both software.
rlslog is always down when opened with firefox, IE7 has no issues whatsoever. I think it has to do with the noscript plugin

Some web apps sadly still requires IE. Also Winamp takes way too much resources so I prefer WMP+DFX for listening MP3 or other audio playpack. For video playback I prefer Media Player Classic. So I’ll wait for ETH0 release of XP SP3 incl. IE7 and WMP11.

I changed my hard drive to a bigger version earlier this year and used my rescue disks I received with my computer and it had so much bloatware that I was uninstalling for about two hours.

Thanks. In Build 5508 i didnt see many diffirences. And cant you manually update IE6 and WMP10? In build 5508 IE7 and WMP10 werent integrated neither so maybe they arent included in the final SP3 at all?
FYI final sp3 version is 5512 and if not integrated u can download them off windows update site with no problems

ETH0 Student editions work great! Don’t believe the idiots here that say the releases don’t work. If they can’t even install a copy of Windows on their comps then not much hope.
I have a Student XP version from April 2007 still from ETH0 and it updates all fine since then. I will get this one to have a complete XP as need to do a cleanout and fresh install by now.

The reason that I want it with IE7 and WMP11 is that I’m too lazy to install IE7 over IE6 even though I use Firefox, but I also want to check if my websites are correctly rendered by the latest IE version. Cause almost every time I open it I come across a new bug
and it somehow amuses me 
and the thing with WMP11 is that I have many mp3 queued to be played in winamp that when I just want to open 1file I open it in WMP and not in winamp to screw my queue

Yes, you *could* use your old key, IF you replace the SETUPP.INI file on the ETH0 .ISO with the file of the same name found on your original Corporate CD. The file is located in the folder i386 on the CD.

Just one problem with rlslog, it’s completely plagued by n00bs!, just like 60 of the 81 posters here! For crying out loud n00bs! Read other peoples comments, and learn to read between the lines, otherwise you will never get the pirate software you are after!
No wonder rlslog keeps coming up “unavailable”. There are too many n00bs trying to get stuff they should be paying for!

Even people who don’t use IE should still have newest version of IE because it is integrated in system, if you have old version of IE your system is vulnerable.

I can confirm that this is recognized as a Genuine product from the M$ site, allowing me to download all things for which a validation of your Windows is needed, like IE7, WMP11 etc.
I still haven’t worked around my activex, since I was eager to test if the Windows Updater was working also.

Because we have no clue if some Joe Schmoe slapped that together, if he removed anything that we might need or if it even works. With scene releases the are quality standards that groups should try to comply to.

I very much doubt you can do a proper install via mounting the image as you need to boot from the disc to install XP properly. Running the setup from your desktop just allows you to repair or upgrade the OS (in my experience).

The last Student Edition of XP I got from eth0 didn’t need a serial during install, or to be activated and passed WGA upon updating, as the version I have is not an integrated version that they so often release.
I doubt, on many fronts, this version will be any different.
When I say integrated I mean integrate with the month’s updates, not integrated as this is with XP SE & SP3. Just to clarify.

RTHO Corporate Pro version works fine. ininstalled it this morning. i use my own serial number which is still asked midway through the install. as all the updates are already integrated nothing apart from the April Malicious Software update is required soon as the WGA update is done from WindowsUpdate.
other than that its all pretty much the same if you’ve been doing the updates on previous Windows installs.
it also has no IE7 or the latest Media Player, none of which particularly bothered me as i dont use them as they are crap

i believe the absence of IE7 and the latest Media Player are the result of anti-trust rulings, ie, they had to unbundle them from the main OS. you can get them down from the Windowsupdate.com site as non-critical updates is you feel the overwhelming need to use IE or Media Player

As for IE7 – it’s never been planned to be part of SP3, you just update to it if you want to. Some people don’t and it’s still quite unpopular.
Hi I installed this on my mac via BootCamp. Turns out I messed up on the initial installation and didn’t format the partition for Windows. Now when i try to reboot into Leopard it won’t work. Found this on Apple’s support site http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306580

To 149 First you cant upgrade to this you have to do clean install first go back up any important data you need like Game save files etc.
Then pop in disc boot from it delete vista partion then install use that key i hade provided in description

If your having troubles installing any eth0 rls (error during install) then use IMGBURN. Burn at the slowest speed and use a clean disk =/. Just right click the ISO file and go to “burn with imgburn”. easy =)

ok…..well so far so good guyz, btw I burnt the .iso with image burn at 4X, anyway, booted CPU with disk, you know the rest, entered the key that was in info file, (the directory where you downloaded the rar’s to, isn’t on the disk n00bz) installed, rebooted, and no probs at all with updates etc. WMP11 and IE7 was done through the updates and works perfect!!!!I’ll send some screenshots later on…..I hope I rested this topic a bit, it work great its on now next to me seeding…..

I’ve been using this for awhile now in China. I work for a school that is too cheap to buy legit software so I installed this on about 30 computers and they are still working, no problem.
