This is how to burn a bootable Vista DVD.
I figured out what I was doing wrong. First, here is the correct way:
1. download file
2. unpack with Winrar, if it doesn't unpack as a .iso file, you did it wrong.
3. burn image to disk with Nero.

The problem is that I was using programs that couldn't properly unpack .iso files and burn them.
I avoided Winrar for a long time because it was so big, but it works so it is worth it.

I know this is a good file, I know I got a good torrent because I tested it by loading Vista using the update method by starting it within XP. I am very happy about that,
My issue is that I can't get it to boot.
I have tried various methods and I have researched the instructions for all the programs I am using and followed the directions, but the burn process still results in an unbootable disk.
If someone would please be so kind as to point me toward the programs, tools, or methods used to create a bootable(!) version, I would really appreciate it. I have a brand new LG burner (burns all types of CDs and DVDs) and I have succeeded in burning several fine copies that will upgrade but won't boot so I am confident my burner is not the problem.
I need detailed instructions please.

I installed the release a couple of days ago on a brand new clean QuadCore machine, it worked great, and appeared to have activated. But a couple of days later (and yes, i did use windows update at some point, but I didn't install KB940510 which another post told to avoid) and now it says "28 days left to activate". I tried reapplying VistaLoader 2.1.2 and also the newer 2.1.3 but both failed and locked up on boot (required me to restore c: drive from backup).

So my question is :) is the release still cracked? i.e. when those 28 days run out will the release still work? Or is it toasted due to (maybe) windows update or...? Cheers.

Okay everyone, here's the summary:

1) Installation was easy and took about 20 minutes.

2) Windows Vista is activated if you follow the instuctions in the attached NFO file. For this remember the main points:
a) Do not enter a key during installation though you can keep the box ticked that says "activate after installation"
b) Do not setup a password for your account during installation. After installation is complete and the reboots are over, go ahead and secure your account.

3) In terms of performance, it beats 32-bit Vista (or XP) with no doubt. The difference is truly amazing

4) Almost all (but not all) of my old 32-bit programs work fine. All the essential ones i need are running perfectly.

5) The 64-bit version of Firefox (known as Mine-Sweepr) and Internet Explorer kicks ass! They load faster and browsing is ultra-smooth.

6) All modern games are working absolutely fine. Crysis Warhead, Gears Of War & NFS Undercover are blazing away without any problems.

7) My only single disappointment is that i cannot get "Peer Guardian" to install due to a driver problem. I'm sure i'll get this fixed in a short while though.

Thank you BIE & LINXX for a truly wonderful upload. Keep up the great work as always !

Can somebody explain once you have the files together using hjsplit what you have to do. I extracted them and there is a setup.exe but when I click on it it says C:/setup.exe is not a valid Win32 application. Thanks in advanced.

Has somebody already tried this version? I downloaded windows vista ultimate x86 integrated December from netload, but its size is only 1,99 GB. But in this post are mentioned that the size have to be 2,83 GB. So I would like to know if the netload version work.

@88 wow

Ok what your saying is true but i wouldnt recommend this, I'd recommend the phone activation. I've been using this for over a year and nothing has happened, tell me do you really think microsoft has time to check up who's using the same key, plus they'd be too busy checking up who's tried to crack the software and block those users up. Even though 100,00+ people have the same key there are probably over a 1,000,000 Vista users, and believe me it's better to have your Vista via the phone activation method than these pre-activated, who know's Microsoft may have already catched up with this and are trying to think of ways to stop people doing this. Phone activation; and just on the safe side (if your scared you feel to many people are using the same key, go into PC World or some s*** check for a Ultimate product key and get out quick, then that's how you know you and only that computer has that product key registered.
