Microsoft Windows Vista SP1 Update 32Bit RTM Build 6001.18000 Read NFO-nDn
Vista fans, yup here is it! Long awaited Service Pack 1 in RTM version released by nDn (funny is, they are movie group mainly). What RTM – “Release To Manufacturing” does stands for? Well, in short it’s exact same version which will appear in March aka final version. Check wiki for more details about RTM. Keep in mind that this is only Service Pack 1 itself, it’s not Vista SP1 ISO! So, you can download it and install on any (32bit) Vista edition. Also make sure to READ NFO for more details & explanation. For those ones who have pirated copy of Vista (well, who doesn’t?), I’m not sure will this work with that popular OEM BIOS emulation crack by PARADOX (Microsoft’s states something like – No way dude). Anyway, try it out and drop us a comment…
UPDATE: I’ve personally tested this release with Microsoft.Windows.Vista.Ultimate.X86.OEM.DVD.READ.NFO-NoPE (one of those which uses OEM BIOS cracking method), fresh Vista install + this SP1 and all i can say is that works fine (still says it’s genuine). Here is a proof.
UPDATE 2: Ok, this is for all those non-believers…
Proof 1: If you go to installers file properties and check version it says 6001.17028 indeed, but if you extract that installer and check the file versions inside it actually shows 6001.18000! Look Here.
Proof 2: Goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
Look at the “BuildLabEx” string… It says:
6001.18000.x86fre.longhorn_rtm.080118-1840
Proof 3: The directx is listed in dxdiag as DirectX10 and not 10.1 but if you look in your system32 folder you see that 2 new files has appeared: d3d10_1.dll & d3d10_1core.dll which means directx10.1 is included!

I read alot of forums saying that SP1 patches the current cracks and OEM hacks.. so hopefully someone down the timeline can come up with another way if one is possible.

Vista Must me activated to install SP1, once you install SP1 use voatktools v2.2 to uninstall previous cracks, reboot, then run Vista Bootmgr v1.0.3 to activate Vista SP1

I got the release candidate not long ago and was using the paradox bios emulation method and microsoft had a fix for it in that, i got worried about my vista evaluation however i found a different bios emulation crack that seemed to work the same way, however seemed to work with vista sp1, it also had oem emulation included with it, not sure where i found it though, but it does exist, the file is named ‘Vista Activator v2.1.2.1.1 for x32 and x64.exe’ so if you download this and your vista isnt legit i recomend searching for this file to activate
SP1 is working here with a Paradox cracked Vista. No problems at all.
So anyone more knowledgable than myself on MS intentions… are they going to implement the Readyboost system for Windows XP… because my flash drive is 8x larger than my RAM, so, I might notice a difference!

after i installed it i noticed alot more stability in windows, however i had trouble setting up a network to my xbox 360 (this is on a fresh install of vista with sp1), i finally got it connected with alot of hassle, and i have noticed that the bandwidth shared with my xbox is very uneven now (im using ics) but before sp1 it was faster ics

@33 im pretty sure sp1 uninstalls it for you, i cant exactly rememeber, but i tried running paradox crack a few times and when i found it not working i just uninstalled it and downloaded vista activator and it worked no problem, vista activator is also one click, none of the complicated process of paradox crack

your vista wont be affected. it will still be legit. this is just a package that u add to your vista that supposedly improve your vista experience. its an update. when microsoft trys to fix bugs on there operating system. they release SPs service packs to patch them.

As a user of XP, Vista and Ubuntu I have to say that there is absolutely no reason to move to Vista. It is markedly slower than XP. UAC is annoying to say the least, a good firewall and antivirus should suffice in the security department. And there is even less reason to move to Ultimate which is a huge scam. I would stay with XP simply because it works and has a ton of applications that work with it.
Also isn’t Vista SP1 for people who do not use Windows Update? I thought everything in the Service Pack was already available.

I always ad-hoc my laptop’s internet connection to my desktop comp, after installing this update, I’m getting one hell of a problem preventing me from sharing the internet connection. The software I use for connecting to the internet cannot detect my modem. If anyone here uses a wireless passport card for their internet, do NOT install this service pack.

I have installed this Vista Service pack 1 on one of my machines flawlessly. When i tried installing it on my other vista system it encountered an error and the update process was canceled but not before displaying an error prompt which told me to visit this site for help.

However it now shows 15 days to activate in the Control Panel – tried the STOR crack but still the same.

I installed this SP1 and can confirm this made Vista 100% the same POS it was before I installed. I recommend staying with XP if you want a fast modern operating system. If you want a resource hog by all means install this crap. But you have been warned!

If u are worried about this sp1 screwing up your OEM crack or the OS it self, use something like acronis true image to backup your OS.
Then install sp1 if it stops working put the backup back on.
Nothing is lost. Then wait for working crack.

-sp1 uses 1,2-1,4 gb of hd space on your C: drive
-ram usage is still the same
-file copying is definitely a lot faster (also on usb drives)
for the rest: hard to tell if it makes any difference
downloaded, great service pack, prevents crashes and bugs nibbling away at youre computer, only problem is it takes 12gb off youre harddrive, and i got a mesage saying that it was not genuine and i need to update it from the microsoft website in march 2008. it should be us saying ‘no way dude’ not microsoft.

Installed Vista (with Jan08 Updates built in) onto a spare machine. Just installed SP1 on top and according to the Welcome Center windows is still activated. Ran Windows update and downloaded/installed all updates (mainly driver and ultimate extras) – Rebooted 10 times, intstalled Office 2007, all working fine.
Winver shows Version 6.0 (Build 6001:Service Pack 1)
Sysinfo shows Version as 6.0.6001 Service Pack 1 Build 6001
and Hardware Abstraction Layer as version 6.0.6001.18000.

I have base English, but installed portuguese language… it wont let me install even if english is default. Seems others language packs cant be present.
I have just tested SP1 in a virtual machine (VirtualBox) cracked with Vst.X-Free.AO.2.1.2.1.1-FF_StR0.exe.
Everything is ok. Vista is still genuine !

I installed it on 2 pc’s those who are asking about how I sintalled it in 10 mins. I started the install on one PC and wrote the comment from the other!
It works and also the OEM bios crack is still there!
The directx is listed in dxdiag as DirectX10 and not 10.1 but if you look in your system32 folder you see that 2 new files has appeared: d3d10_1.dll & d3d10_1core.dll which means directx10.1 is included!
@125 Windows6.0-KB936330-X86.exe does have a version number of 6.0.6001.17028 but all the files inside it have a version number of 6.0.1.18000 so I guess MS just never updated this installer’s version for whatever reason. I guess it wouldn’t normally matter that they didn’t update it since they never intended for it to be out in the wild.

OMG i feel my system so more responsive. the few apps i tryed launch faster, the install is somewhat long and 4, 6 reboots but worth it.
Hmm, I downloaded this last night, installed it this morning… I honestly don’t see much of a difference, to be honest my system is running 966MB of RAM right now (out of 3GB), and all I have open is my MSN and this window on IE. Last time I checked, it was running at 788MB
Maybe I have to reboot, this is the first time the pc restarted to go into Windows after installing… I honestly see my system being the exact same, nothing different. Maybe later on I’ll see a dif.

My thoughts and facts about this SP1 hysteria:
1. Who is guaranteeing anyone that this version is going to be released as the final SP1? Who? Do you have someone from Microsoft? No. Just an announcement. But that announcement doesn’t say that the two versions are going to be identical or not.
2. RC versions of SP1 have had a lot of trouble with many drivers. Are you 100% sure this version is going to work flawlessly on your machine?
3. What is the rush? Can’t you wait 2 months for the final? Who knows, maybe it will be an updated version. Do you want to do this whole installing/reinstalling process all over again after a couple of weeks? I don’t. Do you?
4. Does it worth to play around with some hacks and cracks which were made for Vista “Gold”, while there could be better hacks and cracks out after 1-2 months when the coders got around the new limitations of SP1? Wouldn’t you feel better if you would have a hack/crack that was intented to use with SP1?
5. It says RTM. Release to Manufacturers. Not RELEASE TO PUBLIC. Doesn’t that ring a bell? Maybe they release it to manufacters so they can test it out with several system setups? So when you get your hands on it, you won’t have problems at install, or you won’t crash when just clicking on the exe?
You know what, I don’t care. I’ll just wait 2 months patiently, and install the public version when windows update offers it (after its testing process is basically over), but you… You should just continue this whole crysis and install this “whoknowswhetherifitsfinalornotandwhoknowswhetheriwouldfindaworkingcrackforitornot” version. Some observations for those that are having problems:
- Vista SP1 RTM (5 languages pack) ONLY allows you to install on a current supported SP1 language: (English, French, Spanish, German and Japanese)
…which means that if you have a portuguese, italian,lithuanian,etc vista, tuff luck – you’ll have to wait for the vista SP1 RTM 36 languages OR buy a Vista with the currently supported languages.
- Vista SP1 RTM CANNOT BE INSTALLED if you have installed language packs other then the vista SP1 RTM supported languages (English, French, Spanish, German and Japanese)
…which means that you must uninstall all other language packs besides the ones mentioned.

RTM versions are released early in order for them to be burned to disk, boxed, and/or added to inventory (like Dell’s, for instance). It absolutely IS the same as what will be available as a Public download in a few weeks. Also, just because you’re not able to download it from the main MS web site does not mean that it is not available for download. Anyone who has access to an MSDN account, or any one of several other Microsoft IT or Educational download plans can tell you this. It’s the same way I was able to get Vista Business (legally) weeks before it hit the stores.
If my vista ultimate x64 is working just fine is there any need for me to even intsall this? i dont see whet the big deal is, I have no problems at all with vista, and its actually faster than xp on this same computer. what does this update do exactly?

You *think* that your vista is fine because:
1: You bought your PC and/or vista 1 week ago and it’s *clean*
2: You only use internet explorer to check one or two favorite websites.
3: You only use windows mail so to check your mails.
If you used it seriously, you wouldn’t be saying such a thing. Windows has TONS of problems, which are (partially) only corrected with SP1.

if you can’t find a crack and your days are running out, open a DOS box with administrative previleges and type: slmgr -rearm
You’ll get another 15 days.
Note: you can only rearm windows vista 4 or 5 times…so be carefull – don’t rearm it constantely.

Here is the x64 version with all languages (instead of just English like most torrents). I have verified the build number on the files inside. I got at least 2,2MB/s from the torrent which is pretty decent considering it’s a public one. However I ended up installing through Windows Update with the reg-hack. The installer is digitally signed though so there should be no problem using it.

I’m having trouble with 15 day activation after SP1.
I tried the STOR crack but didn’t change anything. There is no uninstall for the paradox oem crack so I removed it using voatktoolsv.2.2. and installed STOR but that didn’t change things.
I restored the drive to a pre-sp1 state and did the same and noticed STOR didn’t work either.
Is there a trick to using STOR? Do I have to keep trying all the bios manufacturers to find the right one? There are no docs with the STOR crack.
Any suggestions?

Ya I got the OEM BIOS emulation copy of Vista, tried to run the service pack and says it incompatible with my version of Vista, the message states I need a English, German, Spanish etc. language pack/version installed, which I do..it’s an English copy of Vista..guess ya can’t expect too much for something ya paid nothing for
yo, you can unistall this in Control Panel\Programs and Features and Installed Updates, so whats a problem??? you install this and if works you keep it and if not you unistall it and install next release, btw im running on vista NoPE release with installed this sp1 and it works nice
wadup just thought this might help some users out there who get this update, firstly this will make paradox activation stop working on some PCs very rare but possible, if so you must simply remove the paradox activation which can be done through many programs (just google it) from this re-apply the patch to activate again, personally my paradox stopped working also and so i used this method to reactivate and it does work, again for some n00bs out there steps below should help
If your paradox stops working do the following:
1) Remove paradox from your PC i used VOATK Tools:

actually, no. Ive been using it for 6 months. I game, play HD movies, and do a lot of 3d rendering. Specs q6600 @ 3.0ghz 2x 8800GTS 8 GB ram. Not a single problem, and same with anyone else I know. Its a much more stable OS than XP and a lot more quick and responsive by far. I dont see any problem at all with it. U must just be a n00b when It comes to computers and have no clue how to configure your system correctly.

Finally got Windows to be activated with STOR. Too bad they didn’t have the Abit emulation/manufacturer; I had to choose ASUS and the boot up was kind of weird, but everything seems to be working okay.

Installed sp1 over the top of paradox, got the 15 day message. Removed paradox using voat tools, rebooted and used STRO to recrack, now fully activated as before. No Probs…:)

@264: Not a fake, it does work. I used the ASUS manufacturer/emulation though I have Abit IP-35 PRO. My Vista boots up normally, though I now get two additional things in the boot up, which I figure because the ASUS emulation is there. So far, everything works.

if you have problems installing (like hanging at 0% on stage 3), then try manual reboot, then load into ’safe mode with networking’
everything worked like a charm..
then th e15 days to validate message appeared (paradox cracked before)
installed stro etc… re-booted machine and now…
invalid boot.ini followed by booting from c:windows followed by nothing….
any ideas?

If str0 doesnt work with one manufacturer, remove – reboot and try with another. When I tried the HP OEM, didnt work for me. but ASUS did.
All the steps mentioned earlier work. These are the sequence of events I followed
1. Installed over paradox, says 15 days to activate.
2. Removed paradox with VOATK Tools http://depositfiles.com/files/1460469
3. Installed Vista Activator 2.1.2.1.2 str0 http://rapidshare.com/files/77462945/Vst.X-Free.AO_2.1.2.1.2.exe
4. Ran HP OEM crack. Did not work, still says 15 days to activate.
5. Removed HP OEM rebooted
6. Installed ASUS OEM, Voila… windows is genuine again.
i’ve tried to install the service pack, but keep getting a message that it cannot be installed until windows restarts. i restart windows and attempt again, but get the same message. anyone else having this problem, and if so, anyone know a way around it?

I’m using the BIE Integerated x86 January 2008 release… To update to SP1, do I just get the Windows6.0-KB936330-X86.exe file, run it, and that’s it? or do I gotta do the other activation stuff that’s being posted here?I don’t know what version everyone else is using so sorry if i’m being newb. Cheers for the ino, thats exactly what I was doing… but no matter what OEM I chose…. everyonone of them resulted in this “invalid boot.ini” message followed by “loading from c:windows” then nothing…. as I said the only cure was to load up my copy of vista but if I let windows try and repair the start files… nothing… the same old crash happened… only by exiting windows repair and going to the command prompt allowed me to bootrec/fixboot cured the problem…. and allowed my windows to load normally… with the 15 days left etc..
any other info greatly appreciated… cheers
installed the service pack 1 had no problems at all and iam using the cracked version only big diffrents i noticed in service pack 1 is that you save some more hard disk space and i didnt even get the message that u need to activate in 15 days just installed and said it was still activated

its a DELL OEM version. but I think I had to install the PARADOX crack in order to get it activated. I guess I just do what everyone is saying to do. I am 56% complete with the D/L so only time will tell I guess.
BTW where in command prompt do I type in BootRec/FixBoot if it all goes wrong with the command.ini? just c:\ ?

To all those having trouble activating, you need to disable windows defender and any virus scanner you have.
I used the activatores.exe after previously having paradox.
1. Removed paradox using voatktools after receiving 15 days to activate after installing SP1
2. Restart, then disable windows defender by right clicking “computer” click “manage” then select “services” scroll down to “windows defender”, right click and select stop.
3. Then activate vista using activatores.exe “Vista and XP activator”
4. Restart, reactivate windows defender and anti-virus and enjoy genuine SP1

keeper, i have been running vista since it was on xp’s engine as longhorn, so i’ve seen its full lifespan. Vista kicks ass now. I use firefox 2.0.12, utorrent 1.8 i experience no hangups, no crashes, no bogouts… i think the real problem is that its not an os for idiots, none of them are. They work for morons but if u want it to rock you gotta learn the ropes.. simple as that
This worked perfectly on Vista Enterprise that was activated using fake key server. It remained activated as well.
Installed the x64 version of this (after following a link above which pointed to tpb) then used the Paradox bios crack. Now vista wont boot past the grub screen.
Says something like “boot sector…line 17, command not found etc”
Installed on dell bios version. with paradox crack. didnt need to activate again. worked flawlessly. very happy. I have noticed its a bit quicker opening windows n sh.t.

still no joy here… whatever crack I apply (and they all say applied successfully) I am left with 30 days to activate… maybe it’s because my version of ultimate was one of the early ones!! But regarding vista loader & vista activator 2.1.2.1 (no matter what oem I choose) I get start-up boot.ini errors and have to reboot using the disc…. as for paradox, everything also says fine following install.. but still no activation…

Early RTM Vista Ultimate with Stor activation worked with SP1 for a couple of days. Then, for some reason chkdsk ran on boot and hosed my activation. Now none of the cracks work. Same as @305, except I get 12 days to active instead of 30. Aero is now gone too. I’ve downloaded the Nope OEM Vista, hope it fairs better. Just a warning to all, DO NOT LET CHKDSK run when you boot up if your crack is working with SP1.

i tried everything and i still have not activated. I am unable to emulate a slic table. when I do theses cracks everest does not show a slic table. I reinstalled vista rtm and still cant activate it. I have had vista activated before on my same latop. does anyone have any suggestions
got it to work finally. Reinstalled Vista x64, then ran the pembos/computer-genius hack(64 bit bios) , then installed SP1 x64.

why all the problems? run the crack (not paradox bios crack) and it works as advertised.
also, if u have a vlite install, reformat as it will not work at all no matter how hard u try.

Microsoft’s own mpg2 decoder was rubbish with the first release of Vista and I’m just wondering if this SP1 update to the decoder has made any difference.

Okay, Had to uninstall SP1 and then reinstall to get Aero back. Not sure what happened, but I don’t think it is typical. I think I messed up my own Aero, but none the less I’ve got it back.

got some bad reboot errors ..just booted from dvd iso (not OEM).selected repair startup option ,when it rebooted it was activated.

Happy, I installed it on vista rtm and it it activated. then I upgraded to sp1 and the crack did not work, i tried to reinstall it but had no luck, so i am back to vista sp1 untill i find a working one. My hp nc6000 laptop has a problem emulating the slic table.

Ok I finally got my vista sp1 activated i used three different cracks to do it but it worked. this is after a clean install of vista then the sp1 update. Also what type of vista crack is it oem bios, bootloader???
This is an oem but it also use visat loader 2.1.2 or something like that but when you are installong vista and sp1 dont have it connected to the internet until it is done and user account controls are off

the kb940510 update detects if you have used an OEM BIOS or Grace Timer hack that bypass Windows activation.
IT WILL REMOVE YOUR VALIDATION.
Always manually download updates and uncheck and hide kb940510.

I have read the notices for the malicious kb940510 update, and although it hasn’t appeared in my Windows Update list, I will definitely avoid it.
Does anyone have any idea on how to install Vista SP1 onto systems that have the PARADOX OEM BIOS Loader installed? I suppose that if the worst case scenario hit, and it invalidated Windows, users could always purchase/obtain a real legit CDKey from MS, and then change their current key to the new one? Thereby not having to crush their custom installation and have to reformat their whole C drive?
I’m just trying to wrap my head around everything, and to see if it is possible to install SP1 without totally screwing up your PC.
Any thoughts (or even better, test results) are welcome!

This is for everyone who couldnt get the crack worked for Vista Sp1…if u previously installed any crack for vista you need to break your hard disk partition! coz the bootsector have the previous crack! so just remove any partition on the Hard disk u want to install it! and do a clean installation of Windows Vista Sp1!!! and then apply the crack! first it wasnt working for me! i tried to un install the previous crack but no hope atlast i moved my all data to differnt hard drive and break the all partition on the hard drive i wanted to install the Windows.. Good luck with that!
P.S. You need to break the partition before the Windows installation!
Watch out paradox users.the sp is working but after install it says 15 days activation.Remove paradox and install again.the tools are in this thread.
Sorry but the paradox won’t work at all.the sp1 is disabling it.i tried vista activator but now i have to reinstall my system because i can not boot.i can’t boot in safe mode, last known configuration etc. and what’s strange i can’t boot even from my vista dvd or other.i had to format the harddisk and i tried again this time only with sp1 and vista activator.it happened again.so, use a preactivated vista or do not install sp1 if your os is not legit.

windows vista service pack 1 cannot be installed on your computer because the language of windows vista you have installed is not supported or you have installed a language pack that is not supported..
I use an English version of Vista 32 bit Ultimate. Although I have Office 2007, I did install the Office proofing tools (language pack) 2003 as there was no version for 2007. That may be the problem.
How to I install SP1 without removing the proofing tools which i do need as I write in several languages?
