Double layer can easily be loaded from a USB, SD, or External Hard Drive.
Also, this release is worthless to most, as the extra options are almost unnecessary altogether. I'm running the Pro version, and it's got what I need, including XP mode.

I don't get why it being a DVD9 is a big deal anyway. It's not like blank DVD-Rs are expensive. Copy the files from the ISO to a USB drive and boot from that. hardly any effort.

@sers, you need a RC key, not a beta… get the keys from MS, they still give them till 20th I think… and use the hash verification table from the RC as well.

I'll stick to the original build, install whatever languages I need… which I don't even though I'm not a native English speaker, and I'll activate it using whatever method I want… for now (till 2010) the RC replace method works.

"USB drive and boot from that. hardly any effort." yes, but you need a usb big enough, I only gots 4 GB, which would require an effort that isn't possible.
And people aren't complaining to RLSLOG, they are complaining to the Scene, duh.
As #22 says copy iso to usb or external hard drive and boot or upgrade from there. Also its free so the cost of a dual layer dvd imo is well worth the money. So stop crying!

MACINTOSH BOOTCAMP USERS
on my macpro 2.6ghz quad, this was the easiest install ever. 64bit will make available to you ALL OF YOUR RAM, and ALL OF YOUR PROCESSORS. (most macs are well over the limits imposed by 32bit OS win xp, and Win 7 seems to have all of the drivers needed for a macintosh already in there.)

i really only use win. for gaming, so that is where i've tested it. the GENERIC post at the top worked great.

Microsoft is now in code-red panic mode as a major bug has been found in Windows 7's RTM build, one which threatens to kill the OS's release party. The RTM build — 7600.16385 — thus far only received by a handful, features a reportedly massive memory leak in the unassuming, but frequently used program chkdsk.exe.
When scanning a second hard disk (a non-boot partition or second physical drive) using the "/r" (read and verify all file data) parameter the utility starts to leak memory like its a monsoon and quickly runs up a high enough memory debt that it blue screens and crashes the system, according to some (others merely report a memory usage of around 98 percent within seconds, but without the legendary "blue screen of death").
The bug has been confirmed on many different hardware setups –it's been verified to occur on everything from a Intel Atom-based netbook running the 32-bit version, to a Intel Core 2 Duo notebook running the 64-bit version, and a VMware Workstation 6.5.2 virtual machine running the 32-bit version.
anyone else have issues when trying to open programs? everything i've opened is visible in my task manager but none of the programs are actually open for me to access them.
Meh, Ill stick with my 7600 pre-release English only build with Hazar activator. Works fine even still and fits on a DVD-R. I am curious, does this have a unique activator or does it use Hazar's, Orbit's or WOW7? It doesnt seem to mention it in the NFO.

Ive been using Win7 for a few months and have never gotten a BSoD, but then again I never trigger the disk check utility. Im sure a major memory leak will be the least of your problems if that utility is activated, because it only really activates if your hard drive is about to fail or your Windows install is corrupted…
sorry maybe a noob questions but whats the difference between a 32 bit version and a 64? I have waited on getting the new windows since I'm not too familiar with installing operating systems and their updates…

That's NOT a bug, it was made intentionally by MS to make Disc Check as fast as possible on the new HDD's. Before, the Disc Check used only part of your RAM to perform a check and take forever, butnow, it uses everything it can find and is done a lot faster (the computer might go unresponsive for a bit, but who the hell would wanna play a game while checking a HDD for errors?).

Plus it wouldn`t even be a valid nuke reason anyway as it plainly states in the release name what it is.
I could be wrong, but I think vlite is compatible with Windows 7 too.. you guys can use that to strip the languages and any other things you want..

burnt and tried to install this from a DVD-9 but it kept getting stuck at Starting Windows … so then i copied the install files and tried to install from a spare HDD and i got the same prob … did this version work for anyone??
I burned a copy using ImgBurn @102 But there's nothing in there but a desktop.ini
WORKED FINE FOR ME. Downloaded via hotfile, unzipped on a mac using expander (would not work using unarchiver, said it was corrupt) and then burned to a DOUBLE LAYER DVD+R. Installed it using bootcamp onto an intel macbook 2.16ghz. Installed just fine (but did take awhile and I thought it was hung while transferring install files). I simply chose to activate when windows was connected to internet and when windows started and I checked properties it state it was activated and was genuine. 64 bit working on bootcamp macbook. 2.97 GB Ram recognized of my 4GB. Running very well. This is legit, atleast for me.

The one you can download from Microsoft (actually you can't anymore) is only the RC (Release Candidate) which is not the final version. There will have been last minute changes, updates and bugfixes before it went to RTM.
This is the RTM version (Release to Manufacturing OR Release to Market) which is considered to be ready to be distributed for installation on PC's and, eventually, to be sold in shops, etc.
Aside from the obvious disadvantage of not having a finished product (and the fact that the RC is no longer available for download from Microsoft), the key Microsoft give you for the RC will expire on June 1st 2010 as it is only intended to allow users to try the product (and before on March 1st it will start shutting down every two hours).
This RTM is already activated so it will not expire and should be able to be updated… hopefully

Will you no0bs wake up to yourselves and stop carrying on about how big the file is? Download the *.iso, extract it to a folder on your desktop, use vLite to rebuild an installer package that doesn't include the 36 languages you don't need and stop carrying on like children.
If you have no idea what to do with vLite, then download this tutorial that explains in simple terms how to create a DVD setup disc of your own design.
