Just few pages ago Dr00n made a post about 7229 build of Win 7, but here it is – a new 7232 build by p2p grp iAPULA. We are getting closer and closer to RTM, according to some sources after July 19 (or is it June?). :) This is 64bit version so make sure your processor supports 64bit architecture.

    I haven't been keeping up with Windows 7, is it significantly faster than Vista? I remember seeing a report a while back that said it was relatively comparable performance-wise.

    @25 – October is when it's supposed to hit the store shelves. RTM's are typically released a couple months earlier to select companies. (OEM retailers, etc etc.) Windows XP for example went RTM in Aug 2001, retail in October.

    @26 – Personally, on my own system so your mileage may vary, the performance is more or less the same as Vista, at least with this test build I'm using.. It's still Vista under the hood (Windows 6.1), so don't expect a massive magical speed boost. Which isn't a bad thing though; Vista's performance has improved quite a bit since it was released, nowhere near the turkey it was when it originally went gold. 7's memory usage is definitely better though, and seems to cold start a lot faster than Vista too. Basically a "Vista done right." Overall I'm pretty pleased with it. If your machine is anywhere near current hardware wise it'll run 7 just fine. If you're using an older single core system though you're probably better off sticking with XP.

    Can this be set up for duel boot with vista black? If i try to set it up will i loose all my crap or does it have a built in partition or do i need another program so i do not loose everything? I will wait 3 or 4 days for RTM but want to get a heads up before i install it

    The last 4 or 5 windows 7 betas, or at least all the ones I tryed, were able to keep all your settings and preferences when the update option is chosen. Not sure if there is a way for it to keep all your preferences on a dual boot or fresh install though.

    I might be better off getting a new hard drive since i have 4 700 gigs that are full of crap. And all of my games are installed on that pc. Do not want to loose any of it and i do not have enough blank dual layers to start backing it all up.

    @32 I have it on a my HP Netbook and it's as fast as if not slightly better experience than XP. On my Dell XPS m1330 it's massive improvement in user experience over Vista.

    hmmm…. so whats the conclusion… the rtm is already there…?
    someone with a better explanation…?
    if rtm is released (read leaked) then how is that these releases still accept the beta keys provided by microsoft…?
    it must be different right… at-least not be the ones distributed after registration at microsoft.com

    well i am still waiting for my broadband to set right… then will try which ever is new and released….
