The real statement should be made that it really isnt the computer, its what you use the computer for. Most PC and Mac users are ignorant the actual differences and shouldn’t voice their opinion unless they honestly know what they are talking about. Like the fact that Microsoft Office was initially created for Mac. Why does everyone seem to argue when no one really cares.

This version is fully functional but it’s the home & student version and I need the full version to have Exchange server support. Anyone got clues ?

@43: Your reasons for liking Macs are exactly my reasons for liking Kubuntu . . . which happens to be free (and most of it is what OS X is based on, Safari for example is just a port of Konqueror). But I’m curious, is neither version of Open Office working on 10.5 yet? I would think at least the X11 version would work, although I guess they did change from XFree86 to X.org, but X.org is more widely used otherwise anyways so I wouldn’t've thought porting it would be such a problem . . . but then again I’m not a programmer in the OpenOffice.org project!

But yeah, as to the price tag; people pay it. I know people like us, frequenting sites like this, laugh at such prices. But, but but but, working at a retail store I’ve learned that people are brainwashed into thinking they NEED Microsoft Office, so they’ll pay whatever price Microsoft throws at them. It’s sad, but they’re a captive audience who thinks they have no alternative.

@Atlas: Openoffice is not supported in Leopard yet which is sad.

To all mac haters: are u simply mad be cause you can not effort it?
I have been a pc user for 10 years and just got me a macbook pro. I really like the laptop and the fact that i dont need to install 100 drivers for audio, graphic card, system drivers, etc etc.
Also there are so many nice things with macs like the system utiliy which gives me back possibility (like ghost for windows).
I probably will always have both pc and mac but i think each OS has its good and bad side.
It kinda pointless argument that i get tired of seeming time after time. Pretty much like the console trashing talks. Like Xbox 360 is better then PS3 or something like that. I have all the consoles cause i like games period. I mean if you do not like something just dont buy it!

Anyway thanks for the torrent. The price tag is kinda crazy.

@Atlas: 100% correct on both statements. M$ is exactly to blame for the outrageous cost of their software (it is they who set the price after all). OpenOffice exemplifies this. It does *BETTER* for free what M$$-Office does for over half a grand bi-annually. No-brainer anyone?
