Microsoft plans own shows for XboX Live
Microsoft will be testing Xbox 360’s abilities as a hub for original entertainment when it brings six shows to the service this summer. The as yet unnamed shows are likely to fall into the comedy, horror, or sci-fi genres, reports The Hollywood Reporter. The shows are being produced by Safran Digital, whose COO Jake Zim led digital marketing campaigns for 28 Weeks Later and The Hills Have Eyes during his stint as Fox Atomic’s vice president.
Safran Digital’s CEO, Peter Safran, most recently produced Meet the Spartans and Over Her Dead Body. Safran chose not to elaborate about the shows’ specific content, suggesting only that it would fall in line with the tastes of Xbox Live’s audience. “We had a very specific idea that we knew worked for a core audience. Xbox clearly has this exact same demographic,” he said. I’m going to go out on a limb here and guess that none of the shows have to do with a group of fifty-something women running a small antique store in rural Maine.

I don’t get this crap of game consoles having to do fifty other things besides play games.
They should release a stand-alone live software for pc, so you can use the stupid thing on pc also.
The average age of a console gamer is 22 years old.
So content catering for this age range is pretty poor at the best of times across media platforms.
What do you realistically expect for an audience that have ‘gamer tags’ ?? hehe

I’ll just use PlayTV on my PS3 and check out anything I’ve recorded during my lunch break on my PSP.
if people want to watch the shows, they will just download a pirated version of it, convert it for use on a 360, and watch it for free.
Maybe they will do a Halo show!

do any of you saying the ps3 is better actually own both systems. i do and as ive said before 360 is better. better choice of games, as in better exclusives, better online, and better all around system. even the controller is better. the only thing the ps3 has on 360 is blu-ray which i dont really care about and dont think most people buying a game console care about. i just get movies off here anyways and watch it on my tv using my divx dvd player or just watch it on my computer. my ps3 just collects dust most of time unless theres a good game i cant get for xbox, which there are not many of.

MS develops operating systems.
PS3 is a good piece of hardware that lacks development and most of all stable networking.
As we all know the 360 is a fragile piece of hardware that WILL need repair that comes with a very stable OS and network.
The XBL community is a good place to game.

You do realize it’s way easier to just put a file you download onto a flash drive or memory card and play it on your PS3 right? And we all know that this is the year PS3 will kick ass in the exclusive games department. Better controller? That’s really just relative to the gamer because I prefer the PS3 controller rather than that rip-off Dreamcast controller Xbox has.

The PS3 drive is removable and easy to replace if you want a bigger one.
And the 360 isn’t just fragile, it was built crappy. Microsoft cut costs when building them, my roommate got his first RROD around Christmas and another one of my friends just got his this weekend.

For the second time in the United States, the PS3 outsold the Xbox 360 with 280,800 units and 254,600 units respectively. The PS3 was expected to sell 269,900, outperforming expectations by just 4.11% while the Xbox 360 was expected to sell 249,200 units, underperforming expectations by only 2.33%.
The Nintendo Wii sold 432,000 units, 7.81% ahead of the expected 400,700 units. Sony PSP sales came in at 243,100 units, just 4.71% below the expected 255,000 units.

The playstation is garbage don’t ever compare it to the 360. Xbox has better titles better online play better downloads its just plain better.
does the ps3 controller feel puny? i would say yes. it is made for kiddies hands, now the 360 controller is more meaty and feels like the real thing, WITH force feedback instead of playing on a lightwheight plastic feeling crappy cheap controller that dont feel right.AND WE GOT FAR MORE GAMES.give up ps3
