Microsoft Office 2007 finished

Microsoft has wrapped up development of its forthcoming Office 2007 productivity suite and released the code to manufacturing. The application is slated for release to businesses on 30 November, together with Windows Vista and Exchange 2007. The consumer launch is scheduled for early next year. Office 2007 was originally scheduled for release by “late 2006″ but the product’s roll out was moved back to coincide with the forthcoming launch of Windows Vista. The productivity suite has been in beta since November last year and has since been downloaded by more than 3.5m people, touted Microsoft.

The suite’s main new feature is a user interface that Microsoft chairman Bill Gates unveiled last year at the Professional Developer Conference in Los Angeles. The interface is designed to change with the current task being performed, which Microsoft expects will better inform users of the available features. Internal Microsoft research had shown that the features most requested by users were already available in the software but were difficult to find. Office 12 will also offer new business intelligence tools to help employees find and analyse information. I was playing a bit with some beta version of this new Office and although it takes some time to get used to these new functions, they make working with this much easier…

Indeed they do! Ever since I got the Office 2007 BETA I will NEVER go back to Office 2003! The interface is just that much of an improvement that I don’t see why we didn’t see this in Office 2003. It was all technologically possible ever since computers are able to handle Windows XP.

I hope the have improved the interface since beta 1… this must be one of the worst changes that MS has done, totally not intuitive.

I installed Office 2007 first beta, used it for a while and then installed OpenOffice.

It’s a matter of getting sed to it. After a while it all becomes much more easy and you’ll be able to work a lot faster thanks to the new bar that pops up if you move your mouse above a slected letter/word/sentence.

Anyone found a solution for that following install problem:

    - Downloaded 3 versions of this office 2007 enterprice edition and ISO’s are checked now 4 times and everything is fine.
    - German XP+SP2 and German Office 2003 on the PC +vista transformation pack
    - setup mounted as CD or burned version on CD is doing the same at the install. It say’s:

Setup is unable to proceed due to the following errors:
The 2007 Microsoft Office system does not support upgrading from a prereleased version of the 2007 microsoft office system. You must first uninstall any prerelease versions of 2007 microsoft office system products and associated technologies. correct the issues listed above and re-run setup.

I never had prereleased versions of 2007 on my desktop and laptop. I deinstalled all files of office 2003 on my computer + registry entries but it is still coming up with the same information. The setup is even not asking me to uninstall previeous versions or something.

The only hint is that maybe the vista transformation pack, changed some windows files which makes it impossible to install office 2007.

I never had a problem like this every damn torrent worked for me until yet.

please help me if you had the same problem or know how to handle this.

    BIG THX
ps: i know it’s a English version, but I was able to install English versions before and I want this version in english!!!
