Why post rapidshare links in pastebin? seems like unnecessary work to me.

has anyone used this before? How does it compare to frontpage? Also the links aren’t working??

  4. May 3rd, 2008 | 01:30

    @ bla

Links are working, just checked it. I’ve uploaded this to new UploadJockey service, they mirror file(s) to several (popular) share hosts so you can choose from which host you want to download.

Frontpage no longer exists, so it doesn’t compare as this is technically a replacement. It still kicks Frontpages ass all over the place. But IMHO – Dreamweaver pwns Expression Web :)

    Dreamweaver = Professional web designers
Expression Web = Entry level web designers/n00bs to web design (although it is still quite advanced yet inferior to DW)

Any questions? Google is your friend…

why show serial numbers from NFO’s publicly ? It exposes the scene groups in my opinion.

    Protect their work and themselves.

It’s actually very standards compliant, new pages automatically define doctype and have comply with all standards, it’s also very CSS friendly!

    Hi all,

FYI, the Expression Studio (which includes this program, Expression Web, and all the other Expression products) can be downloaded (legally :D ) from MSDN:AA sites. I’ve tried it with both my college and IEEE MSDN:AA accounts.

About the program, I haven’t used it yet but it looks okay. I am downloading it now (from the MSDN obviously) and will check it out later.

    Thanks for the post anyway!!

its from MS which has the worst browser on the market (no idea why its the most popular) so use that as a guide.
dreamweaver IMHO is much better and has a much better support package ie, CS3 for it while MS EE has very little to cross collaborate with.
but hey, at least MS is trying :) get dreamweaver CS3, its great!!

Expressions Web is NOT a new version of FrontPage, in fact, is a completely different product. Thanksfully Frontpage was taken out the back and put down… forever… :)

it is actually a very good product better than dreamweaver at pushing web standards only problem is it doesnt support php! but dreamweaver doesnt support asp.net 2.0 so i just use both! im a web designer btw

    “Dreamweaver = Professional web designers
Expression Web = Entry level web designers/n00bs to web design (although it is still quite advanced yet inferior to DW)”

professional web designers don’t use dreamweaver. dreamweaver is the king of amature web design.

“I hard code in notepad, Does this work better?”

Why confine yourself to notepad? There’s other programs that are a lot of help by colour coding code such as ultraedit. Saves piles of time looking for a missing semicolon or an unclosed tag. Why CHOOSE to be less productive? It’s like choosing to eat plain bread when you can eat toast with jam.

But I watched MEW 2 videos and it really looks nice.

Having had some really painful experiences designing standards compliant websites for Microsoft’s browser, I don’t see why should I even give a try at this new Microsoft’s tool for web designers.

Fortunately my latests projects aim at quality, not quantity, so I can actually write entire code by hand.

Dreamweaver is the midget step-sister of amateurish web design that that the whole family know and love! I applaud ‘professionals’ who uses this as a primary web-tool. I scoff at those that think otherwise. Shame on those that don’t want to be a head of the game buy discouraging ‘professional’ web designers to not use dreamweaver or expression as a primary tool of choice. Let them enjoy the majesty dreamweaver and expression has to offer. Long live drag and drop interfaces! Long live templates!

There is nothing wrong with Dreamweaver, VisualStudio, ExpressionWeb, etc.

You can still handcode the same as you would with notepad but have the added benefit of auto complete and a code library.

Try typing the (nearly the same) .net controls day in and day out by hand in notepad and then when you think there must be a better way… I’ll show you how to open VS and just drop the controls in from your library.

Nothing wrong with Notepad (I prefer and primarily use notepad2 myself) but there’s no reason to discount other applications.

    Ditto ‘Trip’ !

    I only use Notepad++ for w3design!
The function I use the most is ‘Search & Replace’ ;)

    Direct download from Microsoft -

    http://download.microsoft.com/download/2/2/3/223d5ede-c7ab-4c38-bf28-19b46f1c33ee/ExpressionWeb2_en.exe

This is the ‘Trial’ version that turns into the full-version with a valid serial.

Why waste your time with torrents, rapid-share and other crap when you can get it direct from M$ themselves! ;o)

The web-design isn’t made in these apps, every serious web-designer knows that :)

these(DW and M$ EW) are tools for implementation of the design and functionalities.

OK thats it!!! I’m gong back to MS. F&/% Dreamweaver, making it so hard for people to do them a favour by using their software – I love this app – im gonna dump apache for IIS7, mysql for MS-SQL, formating my linux partition and I’m gonna work hard and be a corporate geek – in my spare time I’ll skin funky widgets for y’all the have the latest desktops – gotta go

    UltraEdit owns you all.

Dreamweaver, Expression, and all those other tools are for n00bs.

If UltraEdit isn’t available, VIM… if not that Vi!

    My 0.02 on this debate.

Well, this will probably be considered a useless comment, so I’ll probably get permanently banned, but it’s ok, because I won’t remember this site anyway:/
