@15 I never respected Michael Jackson as a person, I guess for the guys who saw him back in the day, for them its different, but for most people like me under 30 he will be remembered as a creepy oddball. But the music was something else, just pure genius. There is a difference between liking his music and seperating that from Michael Jackson as a person, its kind of like Lewis Carroll the guy who wrote Alice in Wonderland, its a great piece of literature written by a similar weirdo, and is referred to in everything from The Matrix to Lost. Most people have the intelligence to seperate the work and the artist as a person.

Well… MJ was NOT a musician. He did not MAKE music. He sang.( a vocal instrument )
You could replace the singer and have a 99.9% similar tune.
If you replaced the producers (writers ,sound engineers, musicians, recording engineers,mixing & mastering engineers, Vocal producers)
You change the tune by 100%.
Saying mj would sell his records if they had no music , no vocal processing, no mastering… is a fools comment.
Just listen to the amazing vocal processing on his records.
Learn your music production history before commenting on who really makes the music(inc..vocals) sound the way it is.
At the very least , mj's voice was heavly eq'd and double tracked. VERY LEAST.
actually MJ did write some of his songs. In fact, he got 2 grammy awards for songwriting. Yes, he might be nothing without the vocal processing, but he already pictured how's the track gonna be before they record it. He put a lot of his creative ideas into his songs and make it different than any other artist in his era. He was a total genius.

The producer responsible for the famous hit making Michael Jackson sound was Quincy Jones. He produced Off the Wall, Thriller and Bad. Everything after that was done by different producers like Teddy Riley and Babyface. (aptly named)

He wrote a lot of his songs himself, Berry Gordy helped him a lot in his first years, Quincy Jones produced albums made for MJ , not for himself! They did it together. Michael actually wrote Beat it and Billie Jean himself so people, think before you act!
And there are many artists like that. MJ was a package of youth , fame, exentricity and love. Hey may fooled people , he maybe didint… I give him the benefit of the doubt because your innocent until proven guilty! And because "the boys" confessed they did it for the money!
