Michael Clayton PROPER SCREENER xVID-Universal

Group Universal came up with a PROPER for group SaGa’s VHS SCREENER of “Michael Clayton” just a short while ago. In the NFO, Universal claim that the first SCREENER was actually their source that got leaked. As you might have read on the previous SCREENER post, a few minutes were missing from the start of the movie. This PROPER contains the minutes previously omitted, according to group Universal. Be advised that this is not a DVD Screener and quality is a little poor in comparison. Also note that this is a FS (FULL SCREEN) release. Look at the sample snapshots to see if this quality is sufficient for you. I have to say that all in all, video quality looks decent. The audio is also decent despite it being analog.

Genre: Drama/Thriller
IMDB rating: 7.7 (8,814 votes)

    Why do these stupid movie studios still even make VHS screeners. It is absurd no one even sells VHS movies anymore. What the movie studios should be focusing on is making Blu-ray screeners.

    HBO is at it again. I just received a notice of copyright infringement from my ISP (CableVision) on behalf of HBO. Seems they’ve been recording IPs of people downloading/seeding episodes of “The Wire” Just a warning to any of you guys in the US…use some protection!

    @6

    Maybe because they want to put off pirates?

    A VHS screener won’t give you quality comparable to DVD, which can be passed off as the real thing. A DVDSCR, maybe :P

    “As of 19 January 2008 16:00 GMT, Rapidshare AGa€™s servers were shutdown by anti-piracy authorities in Germany. More than hundreds of Rapidshare servers were seized from their offices in Berlin although no arrests were made. Sources said, authorities are contemplating pursuing legal action against users who distribute and download pirated copies of software and movies from these servers”

    About Rapidshare

    As of 19 January 2008 16:00 GMT, Rapidshare’s servers appear to be offline. There are rumors that Rapidshare has been shut down by the authorities after a court order, however, court records do not reveal any issued Rapidshare court order as of yet. Rapidshare technician Steven Gircham has commented on this issue – “There are rumors concerning attacks made on the Rapidshare.com servers. There are also rumors that Rapidshare has been shut down by a court order. These rumors are false. We would like to apologize to our users and inform them that no data has been lost. There have been some hardware issues as a result of high bandwidth and server overload. We are doing our very best to resolve the hardware issues, and users should expect uptime by midnight tonight (GMT)”

    January 20th, 2008 | 01:29

    @44 sometimes when you do telecines (the real telecine, not what we call telecine for releases, which is the transfer of the edited film to tape or digital support) technicians have a normal VHS recorder running in addition to the end source in order to be able to check drops or color variation at home. At least two people I know at Kodak and Technicolor have been working like this for ages. So probably it’s just a habit. Second possibility: the leaked source came from a factory where they actually still do VHS. A lot of 3rd World countries still have VHS and not DVDs, and not only in Africa.
