Michael Clayton DVDRip XviD-NeDiVx

One of the most anticipated movies of the year is *finally* here in DVDRip quality! Mind you, this movie wasn’t even available in a DVD Screener as you might have expected. Instead, best release we had prior to this was an “OK” full screen VHS Screener. But that’s not important anymore. NeDiVx has won the prestigious race for releasing this 7 OSCARS NOMINEE! What more can I say… I just want to watch it already. Oh yeah, notice how the movie is 2 hours long and has been squeezed onto just 1 CD? Sounds weird to me, but NeDiVx mention in the NFO that they were able to compress it “extremely well”. Maybe there’s a proper coming?

Update: Michael.Clayton.Rar.Fix.DVDRip.XviD-NeDiVx, Michael.Clayton.SUBPACK.DVDRip.XviD-NeDiVx available.

Synopsis: Michael Clayton (George Clooney) is what is known in the legal world as a “fixer,” or in the character’s own pejorative version, a “janitor” who cleans up legal messes for VIPs and corporations on behalf of a prestigious New York City law firm. A former litigator, Clayton has found a niche that capitalizes on his legal acumen and shrewd people skills, and yet, after 13 years on the job, finds himself increasingly disgusted with his clientele. The film covers four pivotal days of his life, in which a midlife crisis and a crisis of conscience neatly converge when he is called in to “fix” a situation unfolding in one of his firm’s hottest cases.

I don’t like the fact a 2 hour movie is on one CD. It’s probably going to be nukes. Heard rar.00 is only 3mb and you can’t unpack it. I’ll wait for the DVDr. I hope it comes soon.

hm.. probably a proper will follow since one of the scene rules says that a movie over 100 min (excluding credits at the end) should be 2 cd… and i doubt this movie has 20 minutes of credits…

    OFF-TOPIC:
Since there was a post back there talking about r5 release dates in February, I’ve made a search on the release dates of the DVDs (on amazon)for some movies that are not out yet in DVDRip. I just substracted 2 weeks from that date, ‘coz this usually happens(for example this Michael Clayton will be available on DVD on 19th this month). So, here are some movies to expect in dvdrip this month:

    1.following days, weeks:
    – In the valley of Elah
    – The Darjeeling Limited
    – 30 Days of Night
    – Beowulf
    2. End of the month, beginning of march:
    – Things we lost in fire
    – Dan in real life
    – Bee Movie
    – No Country For Old Men
    – Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium
    – Hitman

Here in Canada, DVD-R’s are cheaper for some reason. Prolly coz of the music artist levy we pay on CD-R’s. The CRIA screwed themselves over by putting that tax upon us, so now they can’t come after us Canucks, RIAA-style.

    @59

For some it’s a little more expensive than $10-$20, and also it’s probably harder for them, than it is for you. First off, to plug their computer into their TV to start with, they must have a good video card, with S-Video, or other connection, so they are able to connect it to their TV. Also, their TV needs an S-Video connection. After that is done, you can talk about getting cables. BUT, then your computer has to be in your living room, and not many people have their computer in their living room. Even if you have a TV in your bedroom, you probably have a better one in your living room, and even if you don’t, you still would want to watch it in there if you’re watching it with anyone else. It could work, but it’d be a little more expensive than $10-$20 for some people.

@45 You can burn 6 normal avi files onto 1 dvd and play in any player that supports avi files. Also agree with #59 that just using the harddrive would be best, although I haven’t set it up that way yet. BTW, how would I use an external harddrive to hook directly with my tv (which seems like the best solution overall)? Is there a USB to tv connection? Thanks!

Because some people want to keep their movies and have unlimited harddrive space. Because some people don’t want to lose a ton of movies if they have to restore their computer or get a new one. Because some people like to bring a movie or 2 with them when the travel or go on vacation. Etc.

    thank you very much!!

do people really burn their movies to CD or DVD still? i assumed most watched on their computer or had their computer hooked into their TV to watch it….or no?

and if u do burn to CD why not use a cd-rw or dvd-rw?

i agree that the scene’s rules seem a little outdated. as long as the movie has acceptable dvd quality pic and audio it does not really matter if its 1 cd, does it? 1gig is probably good enough and 1.5 gig’s for the rest of the movies.
the blu-ray 25 gigs are just crazy but then, they are superb quality :)

  69. OrthodoxAthiest
    February 4th, 2008 | 18:25

@59. I burn to DvD. If my machine dies, I haven’t lost an ungodly amount of movies (quite irreplacable at this point… with anything less than several year’s work), and considering my machine is powered by a hamster, this way I don’t have to stick a Terabyte+ drive in there.

Going round a friend’s house for movie night – take a small disc instead of a flash drive and cable (and no need to hope his computer is close enough to the tv). In a perfect world, there’s a USB port on the cinema set-up somewhere. Most people don’t have that. Hoorah for discs. :D

Then i used to stream them to my xbox 360 to watch them. And finally i bought this : http://www.lacie.com/us/products/product.htm?pid=11002

  75. OrthodoxAthiest

pps. if there is no reason to burn to 2 discs then I still burn to 1. I run the files through a program to check whether they actually fit on 1 DvD, and if they do, that’s how I burn them. For example “I’m Not There” discs 1 and 2 fit on 1 DVD. “Into the Wild” discs 1 and 2 do not. If 2 discs are used to comply with “scene rules” when the rule is unnecessary, I’ll not waste recording time and an extra disc. :P

@everyone responding about burning to disc or not – sorry if my post was disrepectful, I can see in retrospect if it was. Thanks for the input, I can now indeed see the need for some people to burn stuff to disc. To me it makes no use, but rather the opposite, since I need subs to enjoy the movies 100% since english is not my native language. Regarding computer standards and S-VHS output etcetra – it has to be a rather old computer not to have any type of output so that TV viewing can be arranged. And concerning a possible system crash, I have everything stored on a separate partition so it wouldn’t make any difference to me (except for a harddrive failure of course). Also, at least where I live, harddive space is cheaper than discs, not to mention how much physical space discs take. So, that’s my preference. But, like someone said, everyone is not me. ;)

1 CD is great quality? What if you want to play the movie on your home theater system with surround sound. You are out of luck with this one. Anything less than AC3 for a DVDRip is confusing. Why not just make it as good as you can, instead of just pushing the release out there?

…so why do we need the rar fix……just finished dl and it works fine (video is under par tho….shouldve been 2cd, but its perfectly watchable)

    February 4th, 2008 | 19:15

Bad selection of scene for the sample clip. You get to see some sort of interview on a tv,probably hidden cam.
Towards the end the guy switches off the tv and says ‘thats it’.So you can’t make out the audio quality.
Also the video isn’t crisp. Some pixelation is noticeable.
I liked NeDivx’s release of 1408,whcih was super quality.
But I’ll wait for a 2 cd release for this one.
The quality is kinda like Flaite’s Transformers release.

    @45

well they might be cheaper but c’mon we live in 2008, I thought everyone used DVD disc’s :)

Also I use DVD-RW disc so I can bur as many times that I like, and then I use convertxtodvd to convert.

The result are so much better, plus with 2 disc rips you often get AC3 sound which is good if you like me have a surround 5.1 system ;)

  100. Wolfin
    February 4th, 2008 | 19:23

just wondering. With the price of blank dvds so cheap, what does it matter if the movie fits on one CD?

  101. rocky
    February 4th, 2008 | 19:34

Excellent Release but it would have been better with a 2CD Release

  102. Tom
    February 4th, 2008 | 19:35

    @102

Exactly, I always use a DVD-RW disc for those movies I dont want to keep and only want to watch one time, I can always keep the DVD files if I want to burn again at a later time, I keep only the best of them for backup, the rest I delete after I have seen the movie.

Just get a couple of DVD-RW disc and your good to go. I know it takes a around an hour or so to convert the movie to DVD with progs like convertxtodvd, but I think the result are so much better this way.

    February 4th, 2008 | 19:56

    @66
If you have a decent graphics card and tv you can use an S-video cable to connect your pc to tv and have a dual screen(of coarse you’ll also need an audio cable).
no waiting on converting or burning and the total cost of cables is less than a stack of DVDRs.
This dual screen is great for all kinds of things including watching streaming video(youtube) on your tv etc.

WORD. f[u]ck all DirectDownload premiums, its totally destroyed the whole direct download community and they are often slower than the FREE ddl sites with a much higher upload limits(ie. 1 download link instead of 7-15 with no wait times etc)

People with RS premiums trying to keep their RS premiums by getting more points are perpetuating this sad story.

i prefer the 2 cd releases because most of them are in 5.1 surround, and i burn everything to disc because my dvd player supports divx, and for some reason im having some color issues when using my pc to play movies on my hdtv… downloading an extra 700mb doesnt matter to me, most times i try to get hd movies if they are worth it…

Ladies, have none of you heard of Tversity.com?

If you own a ps3, xbox360, or an ipod video you can use them to stream videos from your PC straight over the network to your TV. It’s quicker and cheaper than burining to a dvd or even copying over to your external media player…

    Any thoughts?

  138. eye0eye
    February 5th, 2008 | 02:46

The issue of whether there should be a proper is pointless. Scence rules say this movie should be a 2 CD release. That’s the only thing that really matters. A proper is needed.

So strange, when axxo released the 2.5 hour mission impossible 3 in a 700mb avi, nobody complained! All his copies were released with the lowest bitrate possible to fit in one cd,and still his copies were the most popular on torrent;and now, every body is blaming NEDIVX here!

WHAT DOES THE RAR FIX DO AND WHY IS IT NEEDED ??

Sorry for “shouting” but this questions has been asked about 4 times in this thread and no-one has answered.

Is the Rar fix requirered ? What is it’s purpose and what do you do with it once you’ve downloaded it ?

    Thanks !

Does anyone know how to make .sub files work with ConvertXtoDVD? Whenever I attempt to add this sort of file it says that it is unsupported. :/

this film is sooooo boring…..the subject has been done before and much better too……the only good thing was Tom Wilkinsons performance and i think he stole the show from clooney……i still cant believe how many nominations this got at the oscars i mean how could this be nominated for best pic and not Charlie Wilsons War?????

    a noob question.

if there is a 2 cd release is it best to burn to one or two dvds. My dvd player only reads normal dvd & vcd not avi so i have to convert with nero or winavi, just never sure weather its best to join them.

I have a REALLY cheap laptop and connect it directly to TV with a cable that has S video on one end and video at the other $6 and audio out of headphone port to red/white rca jacks $3. I have watched all of the movies I have downloaded this way, never burned to a disc, its great, just my perogative.

#45 said: “@37 CD’s are cheaper and require no computing to convert them to dvd. Get a dvd player that supports divx”

In response, I say: “Your argument is specious. I _have_ a DVD/DivX standalone player & burn 6-7 AVI(DivX) flicks per DVD-R – no need to ‘convert’ them. Why would I want to _increase_ the many stacks of disks I already have by about 700% just to have one film per CD-R? Get yourself DVD burning hardware & come join the revolution… =] “

Are the subs neccessary? I have downloaded and unrarred entire movie, it doesnt have any subs, but I have yet to come accress any non-english speaking parts after scanning thru several times. I had the fullscreen version that was released earlier too, and I didnt see any subs on it either, and noone ever mentioned needing any. Any help for a semi-noob, I have seeded for 6 hours at a 1.92 ratio, is that good enough?

One question: Is there an appz that makes Sub-Idx subtitles? (Virtualdub doesn’t make them), For what reason you say? well, for changing font size, color, etc, position, etc, etc

    Bye!! ;D
