the fix is over 50mb. the release is 8. now quit it.
well anyway, lets stop the fighting and FIGURE OUT whats going on- I have two. one from the post #5, and one from the link in #38. 51mb YES it does sound like emulation- however reloaded would designate that. I’d assume anything over 10mb is suspect. Whats the deal. I have one thats 10.4MB and one that around 8MB. What gives…? different compression methods?

Not crappy at all. I enjoyed watching you playing the game. Think your rig is struggling, since fps is not good. Post your rig specs, please.
awful game imho. gave it a try, the interface feels clumsy, graphics show a lot of errors (ever heard of clipping!?), driving sucks and even fighting isn’t fun. the whole interface shows this is a direct port and the sub-par performance is only supporting it.

The 10Meg crackfix that is floating around is a damn trojan. Plus it doesn’t even work. It’s a rather crude trojan too…. just a wget command prompt trying to download the rest of the payload.

The crackfix doesn’t work for me (Vista Ultimate x64). Whenever I try to launch the game it doesn’t do anything. The process doesn’t even appear on task manager

The game doesn’t work for me. The crack in the original release doesn’t work and the one included with the crackfix is indeed a trojan as mentioned in post 109.

What sort of modern game doesn’t support basic 19″ widescreen native resolution? This one. Change the resolution in the .ini file and the game defaults to 640×480. What were they thinking? Turn on high quality water and the framerate drops SEVERELY. This reminds me of Just Cause.

I got them the wrong way round, but the site wouldn’t let me make another comment to correct myself so soon after posting. The larger one is the virus. The smaller one is OK so it sounds like you have the right one. I got the legit crack from Usenet. It’s called rld-mr2f.rar and is 51MB unzipped.

I can confirm that Mercenaries 2 works on Vista X64 Ultimate SP1 but I don’t see the game in the start menu after installing!
The game appears in the Games Explorer but won’t run but if you go into the installation folder of the game and create a shortcut out of Mercenaries2.exe and place it on the deskop, it works just fine!
Not sure why this game is so hyped.. all the major game review sites are giving it crap reviews… i wouldn’t touch it.
Complaining anything about a missing file “.\Data\\vz.wad” which is actually right there in the data directory. Decided to uninstall it. Probably not worth it.
Placing a shortcut to mercenaries2.exe on the desktop is the same thing as launching the game through the games explorer for me.

Well, I’m using the “Reloaded Crack FIX” and it’s an 51mb .exe vs the original 16mb…
Definatley not a *TRUE* crack, it’s half assed, runs major system resources + Saving your game is fuxxored and the game will crash at random intervals.
*sigh* Where the hell is a working crack..?
PS: I’m running XP, 64bit. I’ve attempted anything and everything and the only conclusion I can get to is the so called “Fixed Crack” itself.

Works perfectly on my 64bit Vista machine, 4 gigs of ram, Q9450 with the crack fix, resolution sucks but meh.

Some of you are a bit silly.
There is a virus being spread around with Mercenaries 2. If you get a message saying there is a missing data file then you have the crack with the virus. It is surprising that a file with a virus made it onto Gamecopyworld, which a lot of legitimate users turn to in order to avoid this DRM crap.
Secondly, if you are going to be using a Pirated game then you need to have half a brain to figure things out. In the Options menu there is a Controls selection. In there you can see what all the Keyboard,Mouse and Joystick controls are and Rebind them if you wish.
The game is a Xbox360 Port, but it runs fairly well and does support widescreen, though not all PC Resolutions. The highest is 1920 x 1080 (High Def Televisions) which looks great nonetheless.
Wish companies would either start distributing digitally outside the United States, or else shut the f*** up when people use torrents to get their games.

Wow this game truely is awful. I can’t believe this came from EA. The AI is terrible the gameplay sucks, you can’t change resolution and the anti-alias does not work.
This is an awful game. I was really looking forward to it because, even though I’d never played mercs1, everyone said it was great.
Well this one is crap. Poorly animated. Poorly modeled. Far Cry is years older and yet looks better. Everything feels unreal and cartoony. All the actors walk stiltedly like mannequins. Call an airstrike and watch the plane arrive in 3 seconds (Must have been hovering overhead like a heli.) Stand in the open and let enemies fire at you while you fire at them – weapon damage is like being hit with a popgun. Hell, I survived standing next to an RPG explosion 3 times. Physics that’s a joke – hit a motorcyle with your vehicle and watch it skate along the road like ice skates, still upright! Enemies that fire all around you even when they’re 30 or 40 feet away. And even when they hit you it takes about 20 shots to kill you. A plot that’s lame and cliched, and main characters that are shallow stereotypes.
If console players thought merc1 is good, then all I can say is, they don’t know what a good FPS is.
For the rest of us, the bottom line is, this feels like crap. I’ev already deleted it from my HD after one day and a few hours of play – it’s that bad. No tension, no drama, no feeling of being in danger, no strategy. It’s lame. I can’t believe how bad it is.

So whats with the rld-mr2f crack @ 53,482,288 bytes. I presume this is the correct one.
My spec is core 2 duo @ 3.2Ghz 2Gb Ram, HD3870 and XP-SP3.
I get around 12 fps no matter what resolution I select. Same fps at ALL resolutions. Changing quality settings makes no difference to frame rate either.

after you play for so long you get a pilot who can then help collect money an the bombs stashed around the world, then abit later on you hire an engineer who can modify vehicles to add powerful weapons to them. i got the 360 version its playable but im just passing the time till something else comes out.

Im having trouble with the stupid tank take over’s which i manged on the 1st level but cant seem to get to work on 2nd.
Tank takeover is easy… hit punch at the right time and wait for the second symbol and pound the jump key like your life depends on it…

Ok, well I just installed the game, and I applied the new cracked .exe. I ran it, and got the message:
“Mercenaries 2: World in Flames has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.”
Trying to do a bit of research for myself, I saw someone suggested using the cruise.dll file from the OLD crack, and the .exe from the new. I tried that too, yet I still get that instant error when I double-click the cracked .exe. Any suggestions???
By the way, I have Windows XP SP2. Do I NEED SP3 to run the game, or is it just suggested? I’ve asked everywhere and never received a solid answer.

Can anyone help me. I have xp+sp3 AMD 2.4 ghz 4gigs of ram nvidia 8500 512 mb. The game should run on that? Problem is when i start the game it hangs up at the beginning where the EA-logo shows, and i have to ctrl+alt+del and it says program not responding. Have updated Directx and forceware drivers but without success. Have someone any ideas whats the problem?

This game doesn’t run @ 1680×1050. What a bad mistake on EA Games part. It’s unforgivable. Running it at the maximum setting for widescreen 1600×900 just makes it look stretched and blocky. Waste of time downloading this and installing it. I’m uninstalling it as soon as i’ve finished typing this message..
..ok uninstalled it. Made some room for a better game. No doubt EA Games will release a patch to rectify the screen resolution problem but that’s not the point, it shouldn’t of been released like that. Thank god i DIDN’T pay for this thing!

It’s an ok game. If you were a fan of the first one, then you might not be too disappointed. It is a processor hog and I need to get a top end video card someday. But Crysis looks better on my machine than Mercs2!? Must be some poor programming in there.
You DO need the crack and upgrade your vid drivers. On game install it will ask for a serial, but with the cracked “.exe” you won’t have it attempting to verify with EA online copy protection, that’s when it failed for me until the crack.

I had same prob as Corvin, using Daemon tools pro and alcohol 120% to mount image, autorun fires up ok, click on install and dialog appears…Please insert CD/DVD 1 into drive ‘X’…. Even wasted a DL disc and burnt the image..same problem. Any suggestions or help? Never had a problem like this to get a game to work before…..
