it’s not so much the app itself that makes a good rip, it’s knowing how to set it up properly, bitrate, audio etc.. just about any of these apps can rip a decent quality rip if the person using it knows what they are doing

I only get the trial version how do I get full access? Something to do with the nfo or file_id.diz files in the setup?

You have to open it with Notepad, MFC WORDPAD or one nfo viewer. Just select open with and choose.
You also could make right click on the file and then select properties. Then you could choose predeterminated program to open these files.

@10 I tried to rip a dvd with the Xlisoft DVD Ripper (I think that’s what its called) and it produced a very nice video encoded in XviD, good quality and 720×480 resolution, nice bitrate too. I use these tools to create fast rips of dvd’s that people lend me and I just want a quick backup in my drive.

you too have downloaded aXXo’s movies and u saw that his rips are all high quality (audio & video), and now u are just playing NOOBS…
I’ve never downloaded an axxo rip that wasn’t decent quality. I’ve downloaded plenty of scene rips that were out of sync, crap video, sound too high or too low, etc.
The one I downloaded off rapidshare was RIDDLED with virus’s, trojan’s and backdoors.
tons of virii, don’t download.

hi all. i have never converted a dvd to DivX before so am downloading this program but reading the comments here is putting me off. can someone recommend a good program to use and also the best way to configure all the settings for best posible rip?
