#12. They have similar setup in USA, but’s not discussed much. It started back in the days when dual cassette decks were introduced and carried on now into other forms of blank media. The RIAA gets a % of the blank media sales. Including CD-Rs, dats, cassettes, etc.

Well, can you imagine.
In Lithuania we have a law, that EVERY EMPTY storage (it means: every cd-r, cd-rw, dvr-r, dvd-rw, HDD, etc.) is applied with additional 6% tax (as our MPAA analogue says: because we may make illegal copies…)

So in some way it looks like that we have a tax whick kind of allows to make at least 1 copy of any copyrighted material. In such case, MD actions are Illegal!
