maVen kingpin Geremi Adam is on the run from police
Last month we reported that Geremi Adam, producer of some of the highest quality pirate movie copies ever seen on the Internet, had been caught and had been ordered to appear in court in January. Adam, aka ‘maVen’ had other ideas – and has disappeared.
Between 2004 and 2006, Geremi Adam, delighted the movie piracy scene with some of the highest quality Telesync movies ever seen. From ‘The Bourne Supremacy’ and ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’ through to ‘Spongebob Squarepants’ and plenty of other titles, the work of ‘maVen’ set a very high standard for quality pirated movies.
Following an FBI investigation into ‘maVen’, his file was handed to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in April 2006. By September of the same year, Geremi Adam was arrested by police outside a Montreal theater after ‘camming’ the movies ‘How to Eat Fried Worms’ and ‘Invincible’. They seized his laptop and other equipment but later released him. A month later he was arrested again outside another theater.
Facing a $25,000 fine and six months in jail, Geremi Adam was ordered to appear in court on 30th January. Clearly unimpressed by the prospect of being locked up and/or bankrupted, he failed to appear in court and has gone on the run.
“We have a warrant and the police officers will try to find Mr. Adam,” said federal prosecutor Yacine Agnaou in a statement. “When he is found, he will be mandated to appear in court.”

Meanwhile, outside the court a demonstration was taking place by a group calling themselves ‘Hors-d-Oeuvre’ who say that ‘maVen’ is being unfairly treated and that all media should be available on the Internet for free. “Free Geremi!” they chanted in unison.
Fortunately for Adam, he committed the alleged offenses before new tough legislation was introduced to punish movie cammers caught in Canada. He will likely escape the severe punishment of 2 years in prison, a fate awaiting fellow cammer, Louis-Rene Hache. RCMP Staff Sgt. Noel St-Hilaire said: “Unfortunately at the time there was no legislation that forbid anyone from filming in a cinema. There’s not much we could do then other than issue a warning.”
Although not turning up at court is likely to inflame the situation, it’ll be interesting to see if the mounties are prepared to put any serious effort into ‘getting their man’ in this instance.

yep
hes from my town
and BTW, the source is torrentfreak.COM, not .NET wtf?
nooo. maven
Go maVen !
Run maVen Run
Damn hope he dont get put in Prison!! maVen rips 4 life!
He’s screwed..
He’s goin underground niceone bud keep running.Id give this guy a bed any day protect our own and feck the system go maven.
Yeah, I saw this story earlier tonight on the news. It’s tough for us Canadians to pirate, according to the woman who said that on the news. Canadian Police spend more time tracking pirates, then American Police. How do they find this kind of stuff out?
Movies should be avalible for free on the internet! How are we saposse to watch movies that aren’t released in our city/country? There are tons of good Canadian movies that you Americans will enjoy. But you can’t watch them, because you don’t live in Canada. Thats where pirating comes in. Pirating should be legal.
SUPPORT MAVEN!!!
WHAT ABOUT ALL THE OTHER UPLOADERS ON INTERNET WHY ARE THEY GOING AFTER MAVEN I DONT THINK THATS FAIR.
yep he is screwed!!!!
vincent chace what a hero
@6 Joe. you beat me grr!! i was gonna say that too! lol
Run Adam RUN!!!!!!! Just keep em coming!!!! Your a Stud and thanks for putting yourself at risk for everyone!!!!
If pirating was legal, it would open up a ton of new file sharing servers and networks, making it easy for EVERYONE to pirate movies and music. If this was so, every label and production company would go out of business by the end of the year.
So no, it should not be legal. It’s fine the way it is – not every idiot with a computer should be able to pirate.
Have some common sense. Nice thought, but it would never work.
hey maVen, can you stop off at some theaters while your at it and put up some more TS. Thanks
If you kill someone or are accused of a SERIOUSLY HEINOUS crime, then running may be an option. But if you are faced with 6 months in a Canadian jail and $25,000……… its time to face the music not run like a little b1tch.
You are only going to make it worse on yourself by running, in the USA running on a misdemeanor charge is not a huge deal but it will definitely piss the judge off and he is always the one that decides penalty length in non capital cases. I would imagine the same or close to it holds true in Canada.
Only time you run is when it cannot get any worse. Running on a misdemeanor is always a bad idea. Fugitive is not a fun way to live, police always looking for you so you cannot get pulled over, make an official report to the police, get in any car accident, etc, etc, etc. Its just not a fun way to live. Time to suck it up like a man and face the music.
good stuFF maVen… f.UcK the POPO!
mVs u r the best!
i fully agree with jdizzle, he’s making it worse on himself
maVens now a hermit in the woods ^_^ gl mate
@kavin im pretty sure mVs is “mavens supplier” fukwit
I hope he gets four years in jail now. Why does he think the law doesn’t apply to him, but it applies to everyone else?
Give him an extra year just to make the point to people that running from the law is unacceptable.
dog the bounty hunter VS maVen – i know hes not skipped bail but how awesome would that episode be.
He probably bailed to go cam some more films. He’s got the cam fever. And all his supporters who think all media should be free online are absolutely ret@rded. It’s free online for everyone who isn’t dumb enough to pay for it, and that’s as free as it’s going to ever be.
Piracy 4 lyfe; or until i get an infringement notice.
Just one more reason why the US is better than Canada.
@#17-The only little “b1tch” I see here is you. Suck it up like a man? For camming a damn movie? Let me tell you something slick. It takes a bigger pair than you can ever hope to grow to cam movies on a regular basis. The fact that maVen has no desire to go to jail for such a trivial “crime” speaks more for his common sense than to any lack of “manhood”. Easy to talk trash when you’re not in the situation and hiding behind your keyboard. A little respect and support would be in order instead of running off at the mouth like a punk.
@23 why don’t you serve the time for him??? since you are so righteous… btw wat are u doing on this site? why not surf the mpaa and riaa sites….
@Henry I live in america and your comment had no base or purpose, past your bed time.
the police won’t find him unless someone tips them off. because they probably don’t give a sh#t.
You people dont realize how much maVen has done for the scene and what a huge win it was for the government to stop him. He was responsible for a large portion of the releases we’ve all enjoyed.
You should all hope and pray that he is able to get back to what he loves to do soon. Once he is back he will teach those movie studios not to screw with the scene. We’ll bring all of those studios to their knees and put them out of business for good.
haha
all that to film poor quality CAM movies that i dont even watch.
Hope it was worth it
You have to respect a man that has brought happiness to many. yea piracy is wrong to some but there are those that cannot afford the time it takes to get to the theater, i’m sure there were many little smiley faces when parents brought home that beautiful maven copy of shrek the third or that that spiderman 3 that did him in. Listen i don’t personaly know maven but i’m sure if he was a bad guy they would have kept him in jail. There are far worse crimes in this world. I hope he gets through this mess. Thank you sir for your sacrifice and services. godspeed
@xaardante
It isn’t even about the movies anymore, it is putting an end to these self-righteous Hollywood elite that feel they have the right to rip off the general public with their “feature films”. Once they are bankrupt because every movie they make is on the net faster than they can handle it, then they will learn their lesson.
Hope and pray for maVen.
Anyone has a pic of him?
@#23-Another douche heard from. If that’s really the way you feel, why are you even on this site? It’s okay for you to download what you want to see but he should go to jail? You are a total a$$**** hypocrite.
@KRAM
i would tip the police off if i knew where this little mouse was hiding. my father works in the entertainment industry, and people like maven stealing movies only hurts hard working people who are trying to make a living.
this little jerk, who thinks it is cool to steal a movie and give it away on the web, should rot in hell. they will catch him soon when he runs to his mommy for money
@#32-You’ve obviously never seen a maVen cam. Now hush, the grown-ups are talking.
i wonder if they will make his life story into a movie, if they do will he be able to get it for us before it gets released in the cinema
Run forest run!
funny story imo
@extra happy…………. i disagree, to most in the entertainment industry the living has long been made, most independent films where the hard work is actually being done and paid for by the people needing the money is rarely hurt by piracy, only the large movie studios which bathe in money and greed… and they barely suffer, for example American gangster? do you think the actors from that movie suffered from a perfect copy getting leaked? or anyone for that matter? small numbers compared to what the movie made.
maVen for life
There’s girls in that picture, how does that work!? lol
Shoulda stuck with dvd rips :p
He’s only made the situation much worse by running. He was only facing 6 months and a 25,000 fine, now he’s likely to get a much tougher sentence once he gets caught.
i need somewhere to sleep guys….
omg, noooooo maVen!
@#17 You’re 100% correct, they know who you are, you’re not gonna be able to run forever, what you did was illegal, time to face the music, not to mention what everyone else does on this site is illegal as much as you would not like to think that
@jprofet
you are a fool who does not understand the world. my father is the district manager of a chain of movie theaters. no one has made any money on a movie until it is shown in the theater. people like this little rodent maven are stealing money out of the hands of people working for a living. he is a thief who will be caught again.
and then the studios will sue him into bankruptcy. then maybe he will go get a job and understand what it is like to work for a living.
Sounds like a plane ticket to Sweden….
@ extra happy…… the numbers speak for themselves, the pennies and cents the industry is losing is nothing compared to what they make… and i’m sure alot of people agree with me.
A fair resolution for maVen could be that he just gives the studios $10 for each downloaded copy of all the movies he stole.
He can pay it off for the rest of his life, and they can wipe his record clean when he is done paying. That is fair.
Thats the life of a Pirate…… ARRRRgh Matey…..
btw…. i know they are in hot water but the pirate bay guys should really pay for that ticket, maven would be a hot commodity for them…. give him a cam and send him on missions… lol
@Bob Marley
Why didn’t he just stand out in front of the theaters and hand out $10 bills to people going in instead? If he wanted to be so generous and allow people to see the films for free, why didnt this great man use his own money?
Because he is a piece of trash, hiding from the police because he knows he can’t even handle six months in jail.
Yea, he’s a real big man now.
@#40- No, Marcus. You are the douche. You, by your asinine statements have revealed yourself to be the lowest form of vermin in the filesharing community. A pathetic little hypocrite who downloads (read=steals{according to you}) yet has the contemptible holier-than-thou attitude that what you do is okay but the person that gave it to you is a crook. If you actually believe any of that nonsense you’re spouting, then why don’t you turn yourself in and demand a few years behind bars? If you think it’s such a crime, what does that say about you for participating? Shame on you.
i totally agree with #56, well spoken sir
@yanni
Kinda agree with you, maVen should have just gave out money to people at the theaters if he was trying to allow peepz to see the movies for free. He would not have gotten in the kind of trouble he has now, and he wouldn’t be on the run.
Running was dumb, unless he’s independently wealthy, of course.
@jprofet
What are you agreeing with “jdizzle can schizzle my wizzle” for?
I am agreeing with you when you said there are far worse crimes in this world than camming movies. There are worse crimes in the world, like running from the law. And that is what maVen has done now, and for that he needs to be punished severely.
The camming crime is now less important than fleeing from justice.
Lol @Stunzeed… good one mate or should i say… ARRRRRRRRRR
@ marcus, i don’t agree with the name calling i am simply agreeing to the fact that the crime he is being punished for is the crime that we have all commited. i would never say that i hope he gets punished and serves time behind bars because i would not want that fate to be mine. Yes i do not agree with somethings he said but i agree with others. and it was well spoken
btw… for those that don’t understand ( the crime we have all commited ) it’s copyright infringement… not camming movies.
@jprofet
After reading The Canadian Press, it appears that I have never committed the same crime as maVen, as I have never sold a movie online to make money like this thief has:
Adam is facing two counts under the law of knowingly distributing copyrighted material – pirated Hollywood films – on the Internet.
Police allege Adam sold the films under the alias of Maven, with the pirated flicks destined for sale on the web and on Canadian streets.
Each camcorded film likely fetched Adam anywhere between $300 and $1,000, the RCMP has said.
The RCMP says it was tipped off by the FBI, who flagged him as having a reputation on the web for putting together an above average product.
http://canadianpress.google.com/article/ALeqM5h4Zizr8FwFzCnaCu4rE37_ZjfyWw
Mounties only go chase down violent beings when they run. He seems harmless and will eventually turn himself in when a fundraiser occurs. Maybe we could hold one?
Examples of copyright infringement
The unlawful downloading of copyrighted material
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copyright_infringement
@54 agreed, he could be a camming ghostrider for the next tpb movie.
Thats the true PiRATE spirit! My support goes to him!
he needs a good lawyer to step up and handle this case, even the police admit that the laws were unclear when he got caught and they might not be able to prosecute him… a fine would be the only possible thing to execute.
Who needs theaters anyway.
Studios, just ask $5 for a legal copy of a movie and let the postman deliver it.
The studios would be rich, instead of those theater managers, who ask a criminal amount of entrance fee and snacks here in my country.
eg. 11,6$ entrance fee for the movie Sweeney Todd, and an extra 7.35$ for a coke and some chips.
19$ per person for a flick and some food. Thats what i call criminal.
Yeah, stand outside a single theater and hand out money. Thats a HUGE base he’s reaching. I so wish I could teabag you biatches. I have no idea how it works in Canada but in the US if you skip on your court date you just lose the money you put up for the bail/bond. You don’t get added time. So if Maven didnt mind losing a few bucks for the bail he’s not losing much by taking off. If he gets caught now he’ll be in the same boat as if he appeared.
@49 Tell daddy to stop charging $10 for a soda, clean up the theater so i don’t have to sit in soda and step in gum, and tell him to start showing foreign films. Until then, I’ll stick to torrents. And on a side note, I stopped going to theaters long before torrents for the reasons listed above. So either which way your dad can gargle my jizz.
If not for piracy would cinematic world culture be truly known and sought after.
Johnny Depp isn’t a pirate, I AM A PIRATE.
@ 49: no one gets paid until a movie hits theaters? So I’m sure all those STV actors did it for free?
YOU’RE AN IDIOT.
@CopsOnHorseback-LOL
First of all, if he was handing out money in the theater to allow people to see films for free, he would not want to reach a HUGE base, because that would cost him more.
And jumping bail in the US is a criminal offense that can result in additional punishment.
And not all Canadian police are on horseback, plenty have modern cars just like in the US. Jerk.
@#60- “The camming crime is now less important than fleeing from justice.”
Marcus, that right there is the problem. He’s not fleeing from “justice”, he’s fleeing from injustice. And yes, I call a hypocrite a hypocrite when I see one. Any person that tries to rationalize that their participation in an activity is perfectly okay while stridently demanding a lengthy prison term for the person on the other end of that same activity is a hypocrite, plain and simple.
You can pretend to be Polly Pureheart all you want while justifying your behavior to yourself, but don’t try and sell it here. Glass houses and all that. Let he who is without sin cast the first piece of BS…….
@ #72 thenyproject
NO ONE EVEN UNDERSTANDS WHAT YOU SAID.
Didnt he sell works to CD pirates, a criminal offence thats 5+ years in jail, he got a nice sentence (maybe cause he was just a supplier) then but obviously made it alot worse now..
Atleast thats whats i heard about him before, hardly anything worth “hero” status being greedy and making a living on other peoples work.
Thats sure as hell not what i would do or promote, and it has certainly nothing similar with being a internet pirate and what we are doing..
Here is the rest of the story that was not posted. They sound like a bunch of thieving punks:
But an organization calling themselves Hors-d-Oeuvre says Adam is being wrongfully targeted and that movies as well as other entertainment should be distributed for free.
About 20 rowdy supporters picketed outside the courthouse, calling the charges against him unjust and shouting “Free Geremi!”
When asked about the property rights of people who create those products, Guillaume Beauvais shouted “We don’t care.”
“What we want is access to products at the lowest price possible,” Beauvais said.
last sentence got messed up..
but we have nothing in common with maven if he sold his works to the highest bidder, thats not what internet piracy witch we do is about and the penalty for what hes done is criminal and not civil hence the 5+ years jail time.
Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment announced in November that they entered into a partnership with the largest video distributor in China.
Knowing that relatively few can afford to pay, or are willing to pay, $15 for a movie, Fox plans to sell its movies on DVDs for as little $2.25 – $3.75 – still more than double the going rate which can be $1 or less.
The move by Fox comes on the heels of similar efforts announced by Warner Bros. last year.
http://worldblog.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2007/02/27/70359.aspx
they can afford to sell each movie for $2.25 usd. in china but we are forced to pay much more here, GREED?
Marcus.. have you downloaded anything labeled mVs?
yeh fun world isnt it? movies sold for more then 10 times less then a album costs here..
THATS why i pirate, not for profit on others work
I guess he will be having his anus ripped as opposed to his dvd-copies.
@jprofet
No, genius. The story says that people in China are unwilling to pay $15 for a movie, because they are able to get them for $1 or less. They are unwilling to pay full price because they face no punishment for buying the $1 illegal copy.
So, since the studio can’t change the laws in China, they have to change the price in China. They can’t afford to keep receiving $0 per movie, so they are going to try and get $2.25 per movie.
In normal countries, we do face punishment for illegal copies, just like maVen is finding out. That is why things are different over here than in China. We are civilized people, they are a billion thieves running around looking for rice.
@Gogles
Wait till maVen finds out what it is like to have a large black penis in his rectum! He will be so sorry for selling cammed movies for $300 each after that because it will hurt quite a bit.
*sigh*
all media should be free – the government could charge a relatively tiny additional tax on everyone, and hand the proceeds to an independant body whose job it would be to monitor downloads and then distribute the money to artists/film studios/whatever proportionately based on popularity. it would easily be implemented, the “creative industries” would make more money, and the consumer would be free to be a little more experimental in their tastes – everybody wins. they could still sell hard copies at full price, on the basis that most people will buy something if they really really like it – we’re all suckers for capitalism and ownership.
i just feel sorry for maven. hes going to be stuck living on the run indefinitely, with all the paranoid over-shoulder-looking thats involved with that. sucks that someone who was providing such an awesome service is being hunted by authorities who would obviously like to make his life more miserable than they are currently legally allowed to.
It’s probably because Fox isn’t as big in China as it is here. All their movies are american-made, so they probably want be able to sell it to whoever they can over there. Just a thought, but not sure. There’s still alot of greed, being that it costs them almost nothing to package a damn DVD that is going to be obsolete in the coming years.
But seriously, they have to make SOME money. Pirate+legal=no reason to make blockbuster films. There will always be indie movies, but studios would be hesitant to throw a ton of money at blockbusters like Transformers, Spider-Man, Harry Potter, and a ton of others. After all, if they are putting millions into the movie, they are going to want millions back!
@bish
Who would have to pay the tax, and how much would it be?
I pay a lot in taxes already, I would like them to go down, not up.
@ ANDERSON…. you really believe that the industry is willing to take a loss to be able to recover at least 2.99? Try and get… that’s funny
@87
I don’t pay anything now because I download all I need for free from the net.
Why would I consent to a tax to give studios more money?
I’m in the attic of the cinema! shhh
ok naVen
Cant wait till I rip MaVen’s rectum apart!
Marcus is a cop…. lol
@46
have your Dad give him a Job running the Projector..
then we could get quality TC’s
@chuck
everyone would pay them. im not talking a huge increase – i said “tiny”. it neednt cost anyone more than what youd pay for a couple of cd’s a year, and in return you could download whatever you wanted, free, with no nagging guilt.
if everyone paid, then there would be a larger overall revenue than there currently is – since at the moment, some people buy tens of cds and dvds a month, while others dont buy any – if everyone was contributing a small amount, more profit would be made, and it would cost everyone less.
also it would create a more level playing field for independent music and film, since people wouldnt be more cautious, since theyd have nothing to lose by watching an unknown film or listening to an album by a band theyd never heard of – nothing except their time, that is.
i appreciate you dont want your taxes to go up (who does?) but this would be a huge saving in the long run for anyone who’s ever bought a (legal) cd or dvd in the past.
@jdizzle can schizzle my wizzle
“and like puppets repeat the party line they are fed by a corrupt cabal of scared little men who see their industry dying.”
Don’t know what industry you are referring to, but I know you don’t mean Hollywood. Their industry just had another record year last year.
And the video game industry just beat the movie industry to become the larger of the two.
@97
lol
@91 Merlin
“I don’t pay anything now because I download all I need for free from the net.
Why would I consent to a tax to give studios more money?”
well, perhaps you wouldnt, but im guessing a larger majority would – the constant increase in money spent on fighting piracy ultimately comes out of the taxpayers’ back pockets, so either we keep fighting piracy, at ever spiralling cost, or we find a way to negate the need for piracy. if a tax for film/music/etc were introduced, you wouldnt be able to get around it (short of not being a registered person!) so you’d just have to pay it. no consent necessary…
point is, if the people who want a) free downloads, and b) clear consciences outweigh people like you, democracy has spoken… however, at the moment, people dont seem to be aware of any alternatives to the current business model.
Marcus I know what you are trying to say dude…. but there is a sympathy factor here, call it the robin hood effect, although in this case he sold the copies but not directly to the people pirating them on the net. kinda feel bad for the guy. I remember calling the wife from work to see if maVen had released a movie so we can watch that night. I;m sure alot of people had some sort of story. I’m not saying he won’t pay the price or even that he shouldn’t, i’m just saying that many wish he didn’t have to pay and i’m one of those people.
@bish
while your tax plan sounds like it could solve a problem, it would create too much trouble to be worth it.
for instance, in the US, the poor do not pay taxes. if you fall below a certain income level, you pay $0 in taxes. but the poor do buy movie tickets. so if we went with your plan, the poor would get movies for free, wheras now, they contribute to the industry.
i have been around for a while, and i know that if there is one thing people like less than movie studios, it is the poor.
@jprofet – with a few basics of business economics you’ll understand what Cooper is driving at. The studios go the same way as any other big industry. They don’t practice cost-plus pricing, they charge what they believe the market will bear. The material cost of a DVD is peanuts, so when they sell at 2.99 in China, they are making a gross margin of 2.50 at the very least. Once they’ve remunerated the local distributor and covered their own SG&A (sales, general and administrative – it’s an accounting term) you can bet your bottom dollar that they’re still left with something in terms of profit. And believe it or not, a movie studio, like any other sane enterprise, will rather take something than nothing.
You could of course take a flight to China to buy one of these official top-quality DVD releases – the same way people drive 20 miles to save a tenth of a cent on a gallon of gas.
@#100- I was just about to comment on Hollywood’s record year. They made more profit last year than any other in history. A more correct statement would have been that they are constantly telling all who will listen that their industry is dying due to filesharing/piracy. They don’t see their industry as dying, far from it. They just want lawmakers and others to believe it. the record breaking profits of 2007 the studios raked in puts the lie to their claims of imminent doom and bankruptcy because of downloading. Scumbags.
They’ve never had it so good.
Run Adam, run!
its unfair.
he has hardly done anything.
except i dont agree with him selling his stuff.
but i will support him, support the community.
we should all stand together on this.
in honor of him, lets all download the maven release of lets go to prison.
@Twisted Epic
But who will we all sell the release to? I need to find some customers the same way maVen did.
Anyone willing to pay me $300 for the next maVen release?
Say what you may but thank god someone paid or else you would have been stuck downloading prevails crappy cams during the maVen days, he trumped every other TS release group in his days.
Why was this jerk selling the videos? I always thought the scene and the file-sharing community in general were all about SHARING.
I am not now, nor will I ever be, part of a file-SELLING community.
I hope he made enough to pay off his lawyers and the movie studios when they sue his ass. He brings bad karma to all of us with his profit motive. He is no better than the greedy studios.
IM REALLY GETTING SICK OF THIS MARCUS’ GUYS LAME REPLIES.
quit crying you loser, youre pathetic. “The Law Is The Law” come on whose d*ck are you sucking to have to say that, what a loser. If i ever saw you in real life and you said that to me if i was minding my own business smoking a joint of ILLEGAL MARIJUANA i would knock all of your teeth out the second you picked up your cell phone to report a non-sense crime to a cop. I hate people like you and even i dont hope you rot in hell, yet you will say this about a harmless movie bootlegger come on, youre a joke, what a sorry piece of sh*t. GTFO!!
and Maven i hope you dont get caught.
Fox were the ones that pushed the theatres to go after Maven and his posse.

LOL, HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAa
Cloverfield dvd coming JUNE……………………….
Look, I don’t know if he sold any of his cams or not. If he did, then that’s wrong. But the only source I’ve ever heard that from is the MPAA. I haven’t heard the police say that. They certainly didn’t charge him with doing that. I would tend to think that if there was any credible (no, MPAA press releases don’t qualify) evidence of such, that would be the charge pursued by the authorities and not a simple camming charge he’s facing.
I’m not defending maVen, I’m just trying to point out that here’s a guy who’s involved in something that we all participate in, one way or another. He got the attention and the heat brought down on him because of the high level of quality he brought to the party. Many, many people here have downloaded and enjoyed his releases. It’s just not right that there should be so many comments wishing him a lengthy jail term. “There, but for the grace of whatever, goes you……”
Iv never heard of him ever selling movies that`s just another lie from MPAA
Read the story here, it attributes the RCMP with the quote that he sold the releases: http://canadianpress.google.com/article/ALeqM5h4Zizr8FwFzCnaCu4rE37_ZjfyWw
For those in the US, the RCMP are the Canadian police.
Yarrr! This video says it all.

Raven if you need a bed to sleep in, or even if you feel the need to just go. You can crash at my place…. which just happens to be secluded in the woods. The town is small. I could help do your pirate stuff if absolutely necessary….I’m content with my own. Keep Running… but please don’t stop.
thx GeorgeEtte knew i seen it somewhere
people will continue to think he is a hero ofcourse and that he did it for them, when it was profit and closed scene (with lots of leaks lol) not the public..
aXXo did it for the public and for sharing, but he couldnt stand freedom of speech concept of TPB..
Piracy is wrong guys.. its killing our creative genius’s. Only yesterday i saw Bono outside McDonalds with Beyonce and a rather feeble looking rescue dog selling the Big Issue and blow me , but who should be round the next corner but Morgan Freeman and his Amazing Dancing Russell Crowe Street Theatre Group perfoming Folk damces for pennies. look what youve done you monsters
@jdizzle can schizzle my wizzle….you are really right…i totally agree with you and maven running.
I have trouble believing Maven sold his rls’s. There wouldn’t have been so many around for download for free if he sold them. I mean, of course, the authorities are going to add on the “alleged” charge of selling in an attempt to help their cause. Maybe they figure “Pirates stick together. We’ll never get this guy if he has all this support, or we’ll get crucified if we do. So we’ll say the one thing that would turn that support against him… say he was about the money instead of freedom…”
what a man…
Run maVen RUN!
there are alot worse crimes in the world than this guy maven.
its true.
look at the stuff thats gone on in the world.
it makes this all a bit silly.
jeeez
Last time I heard, he was hiding with Osama in Afghanistan. Those mountains are really great to hide in
I hope he’ll never get caught.
Nice work bro, fu*king FBI. Get out of Canada is my only advice, and going to the US is no better.
Reminds me of Marc Emery and the US involvement in Canada.
@Marcus
Why did they arrest Maven in the first place since there was no law for his crime at the time he was arrested. If you say the law is the law,then there was no grounds for the police to arrest him.
Running from the law isn’t a very smart thing to do. But there are many factors outside the rules that justify running. If you live in a totalitarian state where systematically people are getting removed or arrested for one reason or another. And rules are strict but people should look at it’s purpose and not follow the law by the letter. Also the law (police,da’s,judges,etc) can also be corrupt. So if these people would charge you with a crime that would be wrong also.
The law always being right is something that I don’t agree with and you should think about that.
MaVen is accused of selling his cammed movies in internet so they could be sold in streets. IF thats true, i hope he gets caught.
and now the Adams supermacy begins
)
FLY MAVEN, FLLLYYYY!!!!!
Good Luck Adam Geremi, You fight the good fight!
run run and hide and make sure you got enough coke chocolate and chippies and the odd pie.
Well, that’s what you get for breaking the law. What’s the big deal?
did they kick up this much fuss when video players came out
Like u so much forever my love
yea they were creations from satan… oh nvm that was tape recorders.. xD
maVen, for the love of god, run and hiide!!
that’s some serious underground “Hackers” (1995) style. Way to go bro’
i know your reading this maVen
come live in australia theres so much empty space down here they’ll never find you.
they call it the outback.
where is he hiding?
is he in your cupboard uner your stairs?
go look now…he maybe there..and stealing food from your fridge!
Free Geremi!
i’m liking maVen more and more every day, i wish i was canadian so i could porotest
Ho! Ho! Ho!
Catch me if you can f***ers! I’m drinking tea in China at the moment. Tomorrow I shall be gone!
Respect to maVen, even if you dont like what he did or have even watched any of his cams(which i havent), he has done a lot for the scene which i what i assume nearly all of us come to this website to get information on.
RUN, maVen, RUN
He can live here for free!!i’d hide him any day.
Hors-d’œuvre (HO for short) are anarchist gangsters
the photo doesn’t show the pirate flag with a sickle and hammer instead of the bones… that’s sad.
FREE GEREMI!
take care and good luck maVen
I respect what maVen has done for the scene but running away IS NOT a bright idea.Not for a 25,000 $ finr and 6 months in jail , this is just a very stupid move from his part.The sentence is actually not severe at all compared to what he would have got today (In Canada) or what he would have got in other countries.By running away he now just added a few charges to his case……..Idiot
If i were you maVen i would surrender asap.And no , not because i want to see him pay but because it’s the logical thing to do on the other hand it may be too late at this point.
I hope maVen didn’t sell his releases; he shouldn’t be making a profit like that, because that’s stealing and selling what’s not his. He payed for a movie ticket, I say he should be able to have a copy for enjoyment, buuuut then again I work in a movie theatre, and well we depend on our true patrons to see movies and pay for our theatre to continue with our service. And I haven’t seen any of maVen’s TS releases myself, I only watch pure dvdrips or dvdscreeners. And I don’t think he should have run from the law, but he did have a particularly large hand reaching into his wallet and taking a chunk of money out. Me, I get into theatres free most of the time because I get a free pass every 2 weeks with a free 2 person pass attached to my pay stub, but you can always ask for another pass and they’ll normally give it to you; so I get in all the time for free. I do believe that the theatre still gets money off of the passes though, so it’s all good.
maVen, if you read this, keep on truckin’! lol Hope you don’t get caught, bubba.
PS: maVen, do you ever watch Prison Break?
lol You know what I’m saying, buddy! They say that you’re always on the run, looking over your shoulders each tiem you hear a cop siren, because you think it’s for you. Myself, I wouldn’t try to run, but it’d be going through my mind constantly. It was a minor sentence, but if you keep going, be careful, and I hope you have a lot of friends in different countries and can shave your head and lose the glasses (if you have them) and can go by the name of Butch. No one ever expects Butch… Not for piracy, at least…
sweet! some1 dares to step up finaly:D
SUPPORT PIRACY
but still he is goin’ to get caught so he is only making it worse but still cool
“producer of some of the highest quality pirate movie copies ever seen on the Internet,”
hmmmm. yeah well. i doubt that. it might be the highest quality lamers have seen… before maVen hit the internet, there were already many groups providing the finest releases.
Just coz someone got busted, doesnt mean his releases are better.
So, those people who are supporting police action against maVen, are you here because you’re paid shills for the MPAA/RIAA, or are you just hypocrites, here to leech the pirated stuff for yourselves, while whining about how the people who make them available to you need to be put in jail?
@Anderson Cooper are you saying people in china are not civilised?
are you a racist? we are civilised oppressed but unwilling to pay rip off prices, when we produce crap that you westerners and yankies buy for peanuts.we work for less in a week than you get in a day just so you can get electrical products etc cheap.
@156 : That’s not our fault if you guys work for low wages.You should blame the communists in charge of your country instead because ultimately they are the one who decide of the policies and not us Westerners.
we work for low wages because you all demand cheaper and cheaper products. thats why we wont pay 15 dollar for crap dvd.Maven come to china we look after you
Prision.Break.Piracy.Special.S01.E01.HDTV.maVen.LOL
::nuke::
I never knew maVen was busted, I always thought he retired from the scene because it was getting to hot.
I agree with everyone who said he should have hired a lawyer. Now he’s just making it worst, but for what it’s worth, I hope he makes it out in the minimal way. I could only imagine life on the run being the pits. Shoot, I refuse to go anywhere without a fight. Someone would need to literally drag my corpse out the front door.
the reason we have to work for low wages is because if we complain or argue the communist government here in china will send soldiers to our homes who will then shoot us in the head.
so instead, we tell them that we like to work for $5 a day. this way, our government can make new deals with companies and promise them very cheap labor.
it is not a great solution, but it is better than a bullet in the head.
Whatever reason we try and say we download movies, games, music etc… the fact remains we are breaking the law. All those dipsh!its trying to say its basically for the good of mankind are living in a fooking dreamworld. Piracy is piracy except we dont get hung drawn and quatered nowadyas, we just get huge fooking fines and jail time. Me for one don’t give a sh!t, i take the risks like everyone else, but if I’m caught then guess what Im fooking guilty… no fooking grey area, no fooking protestors on my behalf… IM FOOKING GUILTY PLAIN AND SIMPLE and as such have to be prepared to face the consequences of my actions. Besides look at those girls… probably french canadian dykes on welfare anyway. Still run maven run, i need a few more releases before your bubbas b!itch as for the rest of the Free Movie Rights bandwagon… get a fooking job and stop complaining especially about quality, your not the one in the cinema with the camera taking all the chances, your the spotted d!ck type of guy living at home masterbating to animal porn, who cares if its bad, sound not right, picture too dark… ITS FOOKING FREE ! You want perfection go to the fooking movie or wait and buy the DVD otherwise shut the fook up and stop balling like a baby, after all you dont have to download it but if you do then your to blame for not reading the comments in the first place d!psh!its
guess the studio executives will not be getting their gold plated shark tank this month.
Good Luck man!
mVs is a str8 out gangsta. You do what you do dawg!
@162 dont try to imitate me im the only stimpy here we dont work for $5 a day we get $3 a day azzhole. btw why do these hollywood jerks moan about downloads and the porn industry doesnt? everyone knows that porn is the most downloaded but do you ever hear RON JEREMY on tv saying stop grabbing me fooking pron asses
RUN maVen RUN
He must had his reasons to run away…but I think facing the court would not be that bad. Even the fine we can consider a low value that can be paid. Anyways.. good luck maven !
Well, that’s why i love living in Holland.
Downloading films and music is legal here. Only uploading is not.
MaVen, if you want to live in my basement…. it’s all yours.
(it’s furnished) and I make a mean chicken curry. I’ll even let you use my girlfriend. (She’s not fussy)
@ 171
Thats not what she said when I used her
@lolz
aXXo is FXG now…
do a search on dat and u’ll see da format is da same homz!
@97 true dat!
@163 i never thought i would read someone saying “fooking” so many times..wow..lame
He wasn’t even running.
I’m sure there is a real shortage of criminals in canada so they can waste their time catching people who camed movies…
woops, changed .net to .com in post ! :nuked:
you guys have to realize that most likely his sentence will be more than 6 months and the fine will be more than 25000. police say these things to calm the fugitive down so he can turn himself in! does nobody understand the law by now? i would say a 250,000 fine maybe more and 6-8 years in prison!! run for your life maVen!! and if you did make alot of money, use it to change your identity bro. or your second choice find yourself an expensive good lawyer
cheers and good luck..even tho i never downloaded your stuff
Wait, these guys don’t get paid a dime for releases, right? So he has thrown his life away for nothing?
I’m glad they’re catching these guys. I mean all the police should be going after people that actually steal company releases and not those that download them. They started it, we just enjoyed
We’ve done no harm. I do say long live piracy since they’ll always be those ripping it for fellows like us and being on the run eventually. Amazing news no less.
Look I feel for maVens woes . But lets face it he had a chance to make a stand . A statement if you will for the torrent comunity . why run . get a lawyer and fight make a political call for change take this all the way to the supreme court to have our rights protected . Yes protected . we will lose our privacy if other countrys like the US can hand over IPs to the rcmp alowing them to identify us through loop holes in the laws here in Canada that protect our IPs for the most part . I’m sorry MaVen but your charges were a joke compared to what people can get now. He’s no hero folks , he could have been if he had,nt run . But now the new laws are set and little to no chance exsits to repeal them . Next time what rights to privacy will we lose . Will we become more like the home of the brave and land of the free . We need people to stand up and say no we will not be like our friends to the south . where it has become the home of the brave land of the watched . MaVen please stop running !!!!!! Find a good lawyer and make as big a stink about civil privacy and the such that you can . Yes you will most likely still be fined and maybe even lose . But man if you read these comments from your supporters you can tell that to some of them your a hero . You and I know the truth about that though. Show these people that you can be one . make a stand for us . For all of us here in the great white north
T4E drake
hey at globolister youll find millions of free movies
maVen was a good friend of mine. Most of what he did brought a smile to his face when he would tell us about it. He really was a charismatic being, with his heart on his sleeve.
Unfortunately, he just died last sunday of a morphine overdose after his jail stay.
