Hi, small Nukewar update: RLD says that DETONATiON stole their crack… Its up to you to believe that or not, anyways here is the link to the original game post.

This is a .CT table, meant to be opened with Cheat Engine (google for it, it’s a freeware anyway)
PROTOCOL:
-launch Cheat engine (CE in short)
-open MassEffect.CT with cheat engine
-start game (russian or reloaded proper with savegames dunno size=48 956 922 bytes)
-at the main menu, alt tab to CE
-in CE open your game (corner left icon with a computer)
-select all lines in the bottom pane
-press space (all tick boxes near “no description” should be ticked)
-re-alt tab to mass fx
-wait a loooooooot (like the loading, but you see your desktop)
-load savegame
-PLAY!!!

Works for me, i don’t provide technical support.

One of our now former testers thought that it was nice to leak our crack to
a friend. Somehow this crack ended up with DETONATiON who thought that
disguising it a bit would allow them to get away with it.

    Maybe its easier to emulate the dvd with deamon pro and .mdf file . Dunno why they went the otehr way.

    I guess I can snap a shot, but it won’t prove anything… I’ll post a few screens soon.
    And it is important that you have moved/deleted renamed your original Bioware folder from My Documents (the one where the game stores aved games and configs)

    So huh..i got the console to work, used the command to go to nevaria or whatever it’s called (ice00) it loaded with a different background image and all…but… How do i get down to the damn planet now?

    WEll i deleted [backuped first hot diva custom char] Bioware and a xml file in documents[vista]. Stared new char with johny boy and now at City i can Save as many times i wish.

    Not only this game isint fully cracked itd boring as hell. I went asleep during some dialogue and I waked up 2 hours later. I wish I didnt wasted my bandwidth and time on that.

    Well i started a new game as John Sheperd….and did a “small” Speed run pressing alltim space…after the first Meeting with the “Consul”…i saved the game and quit assuming it must WORK.

    I rem. with my custom char, i could not SAVE once in the City[Citadel], i used the “Travel-Trick” and saved the Game this way.

    After that i copied back my 7h gametime savegame custom char back to the Johnsave folder[aka documents/bioware]. I did not overwrite the Profile.MassEffectProfile made with John She. I only added the latest Autosaves from my custom char and went to the galaxy map.

    Here a pic it works by pressing space few times and right mouse button, right after u pressed enter or active the galaxy map. It will not work always, i did 2 times and 2nd time i could “browse” the map, as u can see in the pic:[sry for my bad english]

    I think it has nothing to do with Adding my autosave to the new created Johns.Bioware Savefolder[if so dont change the profile mentioned above].

    Gonna try now to rename my custom savegame[XVY.autosavegame] into John00_01.MassEffectSave. Maybe i can continue with John from the galaxie map on, and then to the trick again renaiming it to my custom char.

    I hope u understand what i mean..So gonna try thta now, bb

    savegame renaming does not work.

    So there are only to Ways right now : Play as JohnShepr.from start and u SHOULD have no galaxy map problem. In the City u can SAVE[i could with a new game,delting bioware fodler first], with a custom char u can´t. So i suppose it must work[galaxy map].

    Doing all quest until the gala. map takes some time[7h for me,normal,bionic woman]. But the Trick with space bar and right mouse works for me. In other words, i wont play with Johny Boy until galaxy map right now.

    Before playing/doing all the above, i copied the GameFolder MAssEffect from Partition d:/ to HD E:/Game and reinstalled vista[backup-image]. I get the this error , see pic but pressing cancel the game still starts/loads.

    If you press right mouse and enter contantly while the map is load the map is shown fully in the cracked version BTW.

    Oops forgot to add that after traveling anywhere you cant exit the ship, but I am unsure if I have todo anything else in order to go through the airlock :-/ any ideas?

    The c…k.exe included with det. rel. does not work for me. i one form mininova[me.crack rar something]. This one works for me.

    With det. will crash alltime the game. About the save/galaxy problem.

    I started the game with a custom char :

    After playing 7h i reached the galaxy map “point,location inside the ship”. After activating/entering the map i had only a black screen. So…

    I backuped the game folder[bioware] and deleted afterwards. Then i started a NEW GAME as John Shep. I did not change Name,anything all default. I played until the first MEETING with Johny and Saved the game a few times.

    So assuming u can SAVE the game with John She[twice on the first battle,and few times insde the City,so anywhere ?], i believe the galaxy map problem should be not a problem anymore. But i cannot guarantee this will work/happen.

    For me right now, after adding my custom autosave, i can continue the game until next problem appears.

    I’m actually using DETONATiON version with RELOADED crack, it keeps bugging me with “Your game is compromised” but I just click cancel or OK and it starts either way. I tried what mediva suggested. I kept pushing space and right click button as soon as I opened the galaxy map… somehow I can use it now. Weird… however I still can’t save the game.

    Confirmed, I just started a new game after wiping out Bioware folder from My Documents. So far, so good – atleast saves are working in Citadel.

    People, the problem is with the online protection, not your character. I want to see all the people that said a default character whould work, after a second start-up of the game ad some 6h after.

    Well all I can say at this point is that I’ve played around 12 hours now and am able to save and travel through the galaxymap.

    But when I first played with my custom character, soon after I got to Citadel (around 1-2 hours of gameplay) all the symptoms started (only autosave worked, messed galaxymap and your game has been compromised nag)

    Since I haven’t had any of these problems now, I can only assume that it has something to do with the custom stuff.
    By all means I’m no expert on the matter and it’s still uncertain if this will work till the end, but it works for me now.

    Ok i did now the same main quest with john she.[default char]. But even with the def. char the galaxy map problem still exists.

    So with the def. char. u CAN save alltime, but u will still encounter the problem with the galaxy map, for some res. i cant exit the ship[ok i went to uoptia or seomthing, maybe its still lokced]…so the only good thing playing with johny boy is that u can SAVE the game anywhere[insde ship etc..] u can´t do that with a custom made char.

    it is your game and your computer, there is no reason for you to lie. So, you say in your game, no prob’ with the in game menus and galaxy map ? I mean, you can go in an go out without crash ? If it is true, I should try also the default character until groups give us a better c…k.exe . Thx mate.

    i heard that this only works if you put a wet finger up your bum when you load it..i was sceptical but it works! i’m on level 12 now, 6 hoors of playtime and i’ve spunked all over half the galaxy so far and the trojan hasn’t killed my machine yet!

    It can’t be associated with the custom char. I’ve been using the default one and all the “symptoms” are there anyway. I think the actual savegame file is messed up. I tried deleting all the stuff in Documents except the save data – it didn’t give me the “compromised” thing when I started the game after that, but after I loaded the save, all the symptoms were back. Now I’m back to square one. I don’t wanna remake the char, freakin 8 hours playtime :(

    thx to you. Could you tell me also the way you exit the game ? Exactly like other games ? because in some forum ( you know this that, well… ) some buddy told that you must absolutely use alt+F4 with the control panel…I would not like to do such a thing, it is not good for the whole system reliability.

    Yeah if you recreate the profile and copy the old save game back the compromised message goes away (which is odd). But all the bugs remain.

    This feels like assassins creed all over again :D . Can’t be arsed to use the console map travel it might end up breaking stuff.

    And btw about the compromised.

    Run #1: Your Game has been compromised.
    OK = Close
    Cancel = Load game
    Run #2: If you clicked OK and restarted the game
    The game will load.

    So not having it say your game is not compromised once, does not excuse the problem.

    Do the following:

    - delete the Bioware folder from My Documents;
    - don’t start launcher, modify game settings via in-game menu if needed;
    - start a new game with default character;
    - do Alt-Tab, then End Task using Task Manager, when exiting game.

    I’ve not tried galaxy map yet, but saves are working fine. No compromise messages either.

    “Game is compromised” appears because nInvalidBuild gets set to 1 in BIOEngine.ini. Setting it to 0 makes the message disappear if you start again. However, the game will set nInvalidBuild to 1 again. Not sure why, but I suspect not being able to save games is connected somehow.

    wild guess on cracking the game is it possible to run a legit copy first to see with the authentication does to the files then emulating the change to a crack version, like a authentication patch or something.

    Also seeing that the galaxy map works for some time than fails to work later and the game creates a profile on start up in My Documents, is it possible to run a legit, properly authenticated copy, and copy that profile to crack the game. The game seems to be making progressive changes to the game files as the game progresses, eventually disabling the save functions and the galaxy map when the game is not authenticated. Probably the game should be cracked in a different way, not just by cracking the exe, but like say creating an authentication patch…

    Again, just a wild guess, very possible i am wrong, just thought i could share

    but i find ironic that there was a Nukewar for an non working crack.

    We will just have to wait until somebody figure it out, just like with Bioshock.

    ROFL… Man am I glad that I actually bought the game instead of going through the headaches you all seem to be experiencing with the cracked versions. Buy it and support the developers if you like the game that much. That way there will be alot more to come of this universe. Seems like they are planning a trilogy and even more :)

    @ 362 / Baltar : same here, I just receive the same [small] intro image, the screen goes black and that’s it. 50% CPU usage, about 400Mb memory in use…

    Solutions or ideas? I’m afraid it has to do with the crack so either wait for a fix or buy it ;-)

    Baltar, it was the same for me, but I was patient and let the black screen on without any interfeering for about a minute or so and it started… For some reason it takes a long time to start the game.,, atleast for me…

    The number of ‘unofficial’ non securom checks in this game makes claims of those who say they have played all the way thru on the default character credible without problem.
    That said, when people claim that something which worked 4 someone else didn’t work for them, they haven’t given a lot of thought to some of the other variables, the most important of which is whether the game has ever been run with a connection to the net open.
    It is the presence of a connection which causes the “corrupt file” message box to display during game startup. Once you get that message the only way to get rid of it is to delete and re-install, if you don’t, the error will come up every time you start the game whether or not your connection is still open.
    That could cause some of the variations in results for the default character.
    Paying for this game because a crack wasn’t available within 48hrs of release is a guarantee that all games will pull this expletive deleted. Those that have chosen to pay aren’t supporting developers they’re sabotaging crackers.

    It does say 100% working at the begining of the nfo file, but until someone finishes downloading the 7.3 gb iso, we wont know for sure.

    they don’t post patchers on GCW… and if it was a fixed proper (or even a patcher that fixes something as that poster claims) it wold have been already spread by the comunity… so I doubt this post is something worth…

    but since there is no VTY proper out (check the sites, channels if you don’t believe me), no matter what any idiot claims, its obviously fake. if he didn’t tag it -VTY it could’ve caught the favor of doubt, but since he did its pretty obvious.

    I found that crack on the newsservers also (it gives me a missing binkw32.dll error while its just there in the same folder so its fake.
