Marvin Gaye – Here, My Dear (Expanded Edition)

Here’s one for the older folks who browse rlslog. Marvin Gaye is a legend of the music industry, and now, thanks to WUS, we can enjoy the new Expanded Edition of the classic album Here, My Dear. If you want more info on the album, then please read the NFO.

To honor this great work on the eve of its 30th anniversary, UMC and HipO-Select announces a 2-CD expanded edition of the album. Included in Here, My Dear: Expanded Edition is a newly remastered version of the original album, plus, on the second disc — cleverly titled Hear, My Dear — all of the LP’s tracks newly mixed in old-school style (no overdubs) by select artists and producers. Marvin fans from Salaam Remi (Amy Winehouse, Nas), to Prince Paul (De La Soul), from Easy Mo Bee (Tupac, Alicia Keys) to Ahmir “?uestlove” Thompson & James Posyer (The Roots, Jill Scott) dug deep into the tracks, delivering previously unreleased alternate versions that are new visions of the songs.

    Wow! Right up my street.

Great, seminal, album if you like 1970s soul/funk – you’ll hear lots of echos of more modern populist stuff here. The likes of Jamaraqui feed heavily from this trough of great musical vibes.

Torrents are blocked for me, so would really appreciate a direct download for this if anyone is feeling especially helpful. TIA.

Great site, btw. Thanks to all who contribue.

    Whot you mean, older people?

Honestly. Have you listened what passes for Soul music (for the most) nowadays?

PLEASE don’t qualify this release as for older folk, man. This is for anyone who loves good music. Period.

I encourage anyone who thinks Chris Brown has Soul to download this record. You’ll change your mind.
