Manufacturing Dissent 2007 DVDRip XviD-VoMiT
A group of people who didn’t agree with Michael Moore’s Fahrenheit 9/11 so much they decided to film a movie against it now releases a limited film called Manufacturing Dissent. This is another documentary aimed mostly at people with interest of US politics and fans or haters of Moore’s controversial persona. The quality is standard 1 CD with MP3 sound.
Plot: Michael Moore has made a career by turning his camera on prominent people and asking them discomfiting questions about hot-button political issues in which they’re involved. He’s made them squirm and look foolish, extracting some striking answers along the way. Now the tables have turned, and Moore has become the subject of a film that questions his tactics and approach to political film-making. This documentary, made by two Canadians, Debbie Melnyk and Rick Caine, former fans of the politically charged Moore, takes a critical look at his techniques, from his editing process to his use of “out of context” information. They offer a different side of the man who has been hailed by the left as a pivotal force in swaying the public’s opinions about the key issues of the day.

Thank you Martin.
Finally, something posted on rlslog that is sure to throw Mr. X into a rage!
Can’t wait to see the liberals attack this as much as they defended the Sicko release.
Yeah, but if you like watching moore movies, you might consider backing of of this one couse it might ruin his movies for ya
anyway, good moovie, seemed pretty honest to me.
Canadians criticizing Michael Moore (american) ?
I can already see how biased and far-fetched this movie is gonna be. Same as Moore’s movies.
Both sides of the stories are always exaggerated.
i haven’t heard of this movie yet.
but im a fan of Mr.Moore so i will def be checking this out.
here’s an interesting clip that is related to this video, consider it an “extra-feature” about who michael moore really is
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yy2QYoT4LWw
I don’t know about all the hype here from this film against Moore movies, but I can truthfully tell everyone, the Moore film called “Sicko” was without a doubt, very much needed and just wonderful.
Don’t take my word, review the below links for yourself…
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sicko
http://www.michaelmoore.com
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0386032
Sicko is a 2007 documentary film by American filmmaker Michael Moore that investigates the American health care system.
Do yourself a favor watch the film called “Sicko” and then form your own opinion whither or not the American Healthcare System is a profit motivated business.
The issue isn’t with Moore, it’s the high cost of health care, which millions of Americans have absolutely no heath care what’s so ever.
RLSLOG http://www.rlslog.net/category/movies/dvdrip/page/2/
@Blue
We’ll take your word for it, since you are such an unbiased and objective source.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yy2QYoT4LWw
watch this clip weather ur a Moore fan or Moore hater.
I predict at least 100 posts on this release before tomorrow
Are you guys saying that a 400 pound man extolling about his opinion on health care is somewhat hard to take seriously?
Or how a millionaire like Michael Moore can be a self-declared spokesman for the average working man?
no i just believe every one has a diffreent side of the story and micael moore moron didnt say all of it. just the part that makes him look good
lmao it looks like elton john tied up
what a g4y movie!
@spell check
there is a way to make michael moore look good?
besides putting a paper bag over his head, how can you do that?
Why does it have to be about hate or love, Moore fan or Moore hater?
I’m with Blue, regarding it’s not how made the film, it’s the topic that needs to be addressed. All the above comments about Fanboism is really getting old.
Who thinks the most important matter is what brand you buy or what silly label is sewn on your shirt?
Who says health care is something you can do without? Do yourself a favor, get an education about the issue or let someone else decide for you what brand and label you should buy.
@麥可
The issue comes up when someone like Michael Moore takes it upon himself to decide that suddenly doctors and other in the medical care profession should lose their ability to earn the best living they can earn and become a government regulated industry instead.
It is a business just like any other business. A doctor offers a service, and you pay him for that service. A nurse provides a service and you pay her for it.
Why not say all food should be free? Its a basic human need, isn’t it crazy we force people to buy food instead of providing it for free?
Here’s a question for you. Do you think Moore was right or wrong about Bush?
So why are people criticizing him? HE WAS RIGHT!
Alex you must not have to pay for your insurance or don’t have any, which is that case means you are probably a healthy individual. However, like most of us when that injury does come you will rethink your statement above. I agree with your logic its rational, but having paid thousands of dollars from a shattered jaw/neck muscle, and even more in medications from it doctors are outrageous and cause normal peeps to go bankrupt or be in debt to the point they are almost homeless. I make close to 6 figures, and am paying with student loans and bills around 2gs a month for the next 15 years or so. Long live moore!!
Moore is a fat tub of scheisse. Can’t believe how some people think they are entitled to be taken care of by the government. Take care of yourself, or go hang yourself, don’t tell me I need to take care of you.
@CaptainHack
But it’s fair to say that you had money saved from all the years that you didn’t buy insurance, right?
I have the option to insure my house or my cars against various sorts of happenings, and if I want to spend the money on the insurance I can. I could also choose to save that money instead and take the chance the something could happen and wipe out my house or my cars.
So if I don’t insure my home and it gets wiped out in a flood, hurrican, fire or tornado, should the rest of the taxpayers have to pay for my frugality?
Why are so many people against free health care from the government? How often do you really get something for free anymore in this country?
Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth!
I like eggs and cheese on my muffins in the morning. I eat them while looking in the mirror so I can see myself eat. Then I don’t feel so lonely in my apartment anymore. It’s like having a brother that looks exactly like me! Anyhow, Thanks for all the great advice. I’ll be sure and discuss it with myself in the mirror tomorrow morning. I’m tired of the mouse suit they make me wear @ a certain pizza place I wont mention.
@Larry
Who do you think is going to pay for all of the “free” health care?? Idiot.
Who is gonna pay for all that free-dom in Iraq? 2.7 trillion and counting….
@Lee Welton
Who do you think is coughing up the 400Billion US$ for several wars fought around the world by the American president plus his followers?
Right the American tax payer. As health care system based on ‘the poor shall have it for free and the more wealthier persons can contribute according to their income levels’ is possible.
America is one of the countries that should be topping the list of healthiest countries on this planet but there are third world countries topping them on that while a lot innovation in the medicines is coming from the US.
Back to topic about the docu.
I want to see this and see the other side of the story.
M.M. makes good docu’s but he’s not one of the most objective persons. And I know that being objective is a relative term to use so let’s not rehash that here.
But he does bring valid points to the table even though I don’t always agree with the manner in which he brings it.
He tries to show by example that there other nations who use a socialistic point of view when it comes down to their health system.
by the way,麥可 means michael in english
This documentary, made by two Canadians, Debbie Melnyk and Rick Caine, former fans of the politically..ect ect..actually they are journalist,and controversial ones,dont know
what their agenda is,but they are behind conrad black story as well..so guess they
need all the free publicity they can get…they were kicked out of a show when they
started to criticism us politics instead reference:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manufacturing_Dissent
to be honest not yur typical canadian,but if this can comfort some people we have a lot
of american over here doing speechs ,on the street,about the nonsense of u.s. politics,
but we dont judge a country by its wacko or sicko,like they said
Moore is greasy & he has hotdog stains on his t-shirt.He is nothing but a blow hard propaganda spreader whack-bag-fur-lip.& He should also consider getting a training bra…..They are all liars…….!!!!!!!!!!
@EoN
“As health care system based on ‘the poor shall have it for free and the more wealthier persons can contribute according to their income levels’ is possible.”
So are you trying to spend my money for me? I’ll pay for my own healthcare, leave the government’s hand out of my pocket.
Why do socialistic countries always think it is perfectly fine to penalize the weathly for ever idea they come up with?
Nice motto to run a country by: “Work hard, make money, be happy. Unless you work too hard and make too much money, then we’ll take it away from you and give it to those who don’t work!”
well larry i reakon if our goverments didnt waste all our taxpayers money on selling arms, death and destruction around the world then i think you could afford free healthcare ten times over for every man woman and child in the country.
Debbie Melnyk and Rick Caine,I have never heard of them.
Only reason i hear of them now,is because they are attacking someone famous,which makes me believe they are riding on Michael Moore’s fame to make a buck.
@jack white
would totally agree with you, except that i don’t like being blown up in my office by an exploding airliner while i’m at work.
would rather my tax money be spent on a military killing radical muslims that are trying to destroy my country, rather than a few who are too lazy to get their ass to work each day.
watch this CLIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yy2QYoT4LWw
@jack white
It can not be an either/or situation like “either we pay for our military or we pay for free healthcare”…we will always need to fund a military, and people will always need healthcare.
It is the govenment’s responsibilty to defend the country. It is not the governments responsibility to make sure everyone’s doctor bills are paid.
@#23
Might agree. No one ever mentions who will pay for universal healthcare or how much it will cost.
I’d like to hear how much more tax will be taken from me each week before I decide on this.
Thankx Martin,RLSLOG-controversy is always entertaining!!
This is excellent, not because I’m a Moore hater/supporter, but because anything that tries to express a point of view requires to be done so at the same time as another that does the opposite. Thanks!
@Lee Welton
Actually I do pay for my own health care and I do pay for the health care of every citizen in my country. In return I’m assured I do get it when I need it and not being rejected because my insurance company doesn’t cover only a few hospitals/GP’s. A health care system is payed by all citizens not just the lucky few who have gotten wealthy.
I earn some 1000Euro a month and by our standards that’s not much. I pay 120Euro a month for the health care. If I want to I can get half of it back by filling out a tax form. This amount is pretty general for every one here no matter how much they are earning only the tax refund is a different matter.
Every country is build on a social system. Every community is build on a social system.
If one makes tons of money each year then how is that made possible? Because there’s a community that makes it possible for someone to make so much money.
And I agree with you, Lee, that there are always some freeloaders who aren’t willing to do their part but I accept that as no system will perfect.
And @Cap’n Chronic
Could you please leave Alex Jones out of this.
If I want to hear some fantasy/SF then there are better storytellers in the world then he is.
All the videos I’ve seen are not based on evidence but threads of info made into a speculative story.
All the books I’ve read have the same ‘Evidence’ rehashed but very little has a foundation in the common reality where most of us live in.
His radio shows are great to listen to if you want to hear someone ranting about fictional events.
@mikeyG
They won’t tell you how much it will cost you each week because they know it will cost them the election.
They want to sneak in with all their promises and then slam this tax on you.
With all do respect, that was a piss poor description you gave. Manufacturing Dissent was not made by “people that didn’t agree with Fahrenheit 9/11.” The makers of it were originally fans of Moore’s that wanted an interview for a documentary they were doing on him. Eventually their documentary turns into an attack when they come across inconsistencies in ROGER AND ME, not Fahrenheit 9/11. This documentary is heavily focused on ROGER AND ME and Michael Moore as a person. You should actually watch films before making shi† up about them.
@EoN
Typical liberal rhetoric.
Why do you insult the hard working people in this country by saying “is payed by all citizens not just the lucky few who have gotten wealthy.”
People get “wealthy” by working hard, not by luck. Some people may win the lottery, but many more do not. People also become simply “comfortable” by working hard as well. Unfotunately, as you mention, there are too many freeloaders that take advantage of any system that gives something away for free.
If the government would promise to only tax the lucky few who win the lottery to pay for universal healthcare, then I’ll be all for it.
Would that be enough to fund free health care for everyone?? Guess we’ll have to tax the hell out of more than just the “lucky few” won’t we?
Made by politicians.. Give me a break… Michelle Moore info in his films are just a tip of the ice burg, as they say. This government makes Hitler like a choir boy! A major economy crash and resection is on the horizon. Then it will be followed shortly by a civil war and the only thing worth anything will be guns and gold. God help us all!
@Netranger
Totally agree with you, we should expect a “resection” soon. I wonder what section I will wind up in? Maybe the orchestra section?
Funny movie BTW, biased as hell but then again i guess thats the claim against Michael Moore. It is important to note that all of Moore’s documentaries are about real, serious, important issues and this is just a mockumentary about a man that makes documentaries. You can argue against the man all day, but the fact of the matter is that he tries to use the power of film to mainstream issues that is the point and most people seem to miss this.
Also i see quite a few ignorant people on here (Lee Walton) going on and on about free health care; once again missing the point. As Michael Moore said in “Sicko”, the movie is not about people that DONT have health care its about the people that DO have health care and how even if you have health care you can easily be screwed over by the insurance companies.
Someone posted about buying insurance on their house, well how do you think the people in Katrina felt when they had flood insurance only for the insurance companies to tell them that they aren’t getting a damn penny because it is “inconclusive” as to whether or not their home was destroyed by water vs wind. Or how about the fact that you have insurance and are having migraines and blurry vision and your doctor has ordered you get a CATSCAN and MRI but your health care provider wont pay for it. Many people that think the US health care system is all good are people that have never had to use it; kind of like the Justice system, alot of people think that the US Justice system is 100% peaches n cream but thats because they have never been sued or put on trial.
Unfortunately you cant have a decent, educated discussion about anything of substance with the majority of Americans because they are poorly educated. Sorry thats the sad truth. Say something like “i propose health care reform” instead of “lets find an agreeable way to get this done” you hear “who’s gonna pay for it”, “free health care for poor people”, “blah,blah,blah”. What happens is a bunch of fear mongering, slogan spouting, and idiocracy; and nothing gets accomplished.
Also whoever mentioned that the American taxpayer is paying for the war in Iraq, is actually wrong. That is what should logically happen in a functioning government; which obviously the current administration is not. What the Bush admin has done is simply have Congress authorize the government to borrow the money from China in massive cash loans (basically selling our souls to the Communists), which will one day have to be paid back [BTW the US is over $1.3trillion (yes $1,300,000,000,000) in the hole to the Chinese government right now]. How you say? Well the Bush answer is “hey i am out of here in a year, what the f*ck do i care?” the real answer is when another party takes over they will have to either cut funding to programs, vote for an unbalanced budget (its like agreeing with your bank to have an overdrawn balance forever), or raise taxes which is a lose/lose/lose because the next admin will look like the bad guys regardless of what they do when they are really just cleaning up d0ucebag jr’s mess.
This is why the value of the US Dollar vs other currencies has dropped like a f*cking 10,000 ton rock since Bush took power in 2000; because he is an ignorant rich brat that never had to balance a check book when he was growing up and thinks that you can just print money when you need it or borrow it forever. The fact that the money has to be paid back (with a rapidly depreciating currency) at some point doesn’t register with him, his cronies, or the uneducated American public.
Due to the fact that i have dual US/NL citizenship it is also becoming less and less my problem because i have made plenty of money in America and i am ready to return to Holland when the sh1t hits the fan. Yeah my post is long so sue me, you get an e-cookie if you read it all
wow….. u wrote all that for this g4y movie, and u know that no1’s gonna look at ur comment, its like u didnt have anything else to do with ur life…
what a low lifeeeeee O_o
“People get “wealthy” by working hard, not by luck”
Ahahaha do you really believe what you say ?
Go and say that to those Africans that work 13 hours a day for 50 cents.
You live in a dream world lee welton !… fact is that without having money you cant create wealth the only thing you create is debt.
Just let people watch fox news long enough and they think a monetary system that lets a third of the world starve to death is fair.
Neo cons are like fascists…naive, uneducated, aggressive
and they need conflicts and enemy’s to justify their existance.
“wow….. u wrote all that for this g4y movie, and u know that no1’s gonna look at ur comment, its like u didnt have anything else to do with ur life…
what a low lifeeeeee O_o”
You are wrong I had a look at it…have a look he talks about you in that bit about education… hahaha
Im sorry #45 which is more of a low life? Making a long post that is poignant or making fun of it?
Matter of fact don’t answer that, just swallow the blue pill and lay back down kid.
@jdizzle1337
Why does anyone that asks a simple question like “who is going to pay for this plan” have to be a “poorly educated American”?
Only elitists such as yourself resort to name calling and attacks when they dont have answers to the topic at hand. When discussing this issue, most people agree that the health care itself is fine, but paying for that healthcare is the issue.
So when people ask how this proposed reform will allow people to pay for healthcare, it is very relevant. It is not “fear mongering, slogan spouting, and idiocracy”, it is simply a question that none of the plan promoters wants to voice.
Why is it so hard for the promoters of such a system to come out and say, “You’re going to have to take home 15% less each week to pay for your neighbors health care.”?
Just the facts, please!
@leet
One person in the computer industry I am fond of is Steve Wozniak. He is considered “wealthy”, and not from winning a lottery, he earned his fortune.
He is not a neocon, he did not start Apple with unlimited capital, and he did not watch Fox news all his life.
Please think before you make general statements that have no bearing on reality.
Amusing, Lee Whineton preaching about people’s “right” to get rich by working… Still yet he hangs on website concentrating “pirating”/”sharing” things free (sound socialism? Are you closet socialist Lee?), things people _worked hard_ to get some income from
I was quickly bored after 20 minutes of watching this film. Why would I spend 1hr and 37 minuets watching something that I could just as easily read on wikipedia that would get to the point quicker ? I’m more of a fan of Alex Jones, I don’t really care so much about Michael because he plays about the left/right paradigm too much and dismisses the hard-core issues.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAIBqXQmPrg
9 min. clip from the movie.
Lee #49 you ASSume as most people tend to that taxes need to be raised to implement free universal health care. Instead of finding out what programs can be eliminated or reduced funded to fund more important programs like health care you try to kill the argument all together and scare people by saying “your taxes will be raised”.
The real question that we should be asking is: “is $1.3trillion worth invading a country that made no aggressive action towards us?” instead no; people of your ilk are gung ho to attack some country you have no idea of where is located on the globe but finding a way to make sure that all of your countrymen are covered by universal health care is out of the question.
When will you wake up and realize this is not a “us vs them”. Every citizen of the United States needs to help figure out how they can make their Federal government WORK FOR THE PEOPLE, and not corporate interests; because certaintly you and your family do not directly benefit from invading Iraq.
Like or loathe Moore, Gore etc they have you all talking about issues that a large majority of the worlds population are too complacent to give a second thought…
@jdizzle1337
I am simply following along with Hillary Clinton’s plan to create a universal health care program. She has made no plans for any programs to be cut to pay for her plan. She has proposed two new taxes that would “help” fund her plan.
The entire argument about the cost of the military funding is irrelevant because no taxes have been raised to pay for the military funding. You have no clue about the cost of the healthcare system in the US if you think that the entire $1.3B that has been spent keeping the country safe over the last 6 years would make a dent.
Her plan calls for at least that amount each and every year!
keeping the country safe from ‘imaginationland’, lee wonton. would you be surprised that peanuts pose a more serious threat for the US than those ’scary brown people’ ?

Finally this shows up.
Kudos to the rlslog staff.
Moore is a liar, a fool, and a shill for totalitarian dictators. If chavez and castro are so wonderful, why do their people flee like frightened rabbits to the nation those Stalin wannabees attempt to portray as “the Great Satan”?
Somehow, I don’t think their med care, human rights, or freedom of the press is quite as “comprehensive” as Moore would lead the sheeple to believe.

“I was quickly bored after 20 minutes of watching this film.”
Ditto for all of the wacko conspiracy guff you insist on posting, tinfoilhat!
*passes around some wooden spoons*
I will like to add that if I had a hand gun near me I would shoot my self in the nuts for down loading this crap.
Why would someone want to make a documentary to discredit someone like Moore who has another point of view of how things are in the US than the corporate conservative media, unless that someone is paid by the same media to make the documentary. Every honest journalist should applaud any independent voice of information, especially in times like ours. I say when you hear a lonely wolf
howling, listen carefully cause he might be warning you about the
pack of angry and hungry wolfs who are coming towards you.
“I’m more of a fan of Alex Jones”
bwahahahhahahahaha. I’m not the least bit surprised.
Sounds like a tv documentary stretched out for a film is it interesting enougth to watch.
When everything else fails, use personal attacks against the person that is the voice of reason!
@69, I think that about sums up political history rather nicely.
@jdizzle1337
some very thoughtful reflections on the matters touched, man! kudos!
also respect for the patience to explain the controversies and at least try to enlighten the rednecks.
Yeah, i call the guys favouring absolutism and the Bushesh “rednecks”. Neocons is just too intellectual and pushy for so much brainpower as to fill a teaspoon ;-B
As for the film, I was curious to see what they got from the gossip column and unfortunately for the filmmakers - it is almost nothing.
Looks like a free ride on the fame of Moore to me, too.
Sure the guy is pushing the envelope and manipulating as much as he can, it is HIS mockumentary after all!
but hell, anyone with a head ABOVE his own shoulders should be able to discern the -tainment from the edu- in his films and see the bigger picture.

Moore is showing us HOW the media is being put to good use (not ours, believe me..)
It is like using the tools of your enemy’s trade to turn against him.
it is exposing the broken mirror AND the ugly face in front of it.
In this flick, they ALMOST go as far as to defend the Bushes. well, you never know, some say a lot of people even voted for them in that country
That’s why I like Reason, as in SnowCrash - everybody listens to it
@ Moderators.
Anyone care to comment on the technical quality of the movie.
I foolishly thought that this was what the site was about (instead of slagging and political in-fighting).
jdizzle..
I admire your tolerance in the face of such uneducated responses to this movie….
…then again Lee Welton and Co^^^^ voted for Dubbya TWICE…
”
Bear this in mind when responding….you need to “dumbdown” your replies….I sense they dont know what youre referring to…
monosyllables would be best…
PS
Great piece you posted earlier…couldnt agree more M8!!
One day, the fire department and the police will be owned by corprations in the USA.
This is because alot of the people who live there do not really know what the word fascism(look it up) actually mean.
The healthcare system in America is a fascist system, it’s owned and operated by a few individuals to only help those who can afford it. Every democracy (USA is not a democracy, look up the term democracy) has a socialised health-care system.
Medical student Scandinavia, and an atheist.
@Lee Walton
As you have stated, no new taxes have been put into place to pay for the war in Iraq. So where does all this extra money come from? Do you know what happens if countries come to collect on that dept we owe. All your fiat money will be worthless. And terrorist will be the least of your worries. Bush has failed in every business he has run, he has failed this country.
I guess living is easy with eyes closed when it comes to idiots like you.
There sure is an awful lot of opinion out there on Moore & the issues he tackles.
He is totally unapologetic about what he does and how he does it.
He argues that these topics may well have different sides - good and bad - but without someone tackling the bad side of an issue it will never get better.
He recognises that we are basically lazy creatures,happy to defer decision making to others - we call these people bosses, leaders, politicians, etc. We would rather live in hegemony than anarchy. And why not? Hegemony is low risk & easy - Anarchy is high risk & hard.
Unfortunately for us our lords and masters are often self-serving, money-grabbing, SOB’s who will take advantage of the rest of us at the first opportunity.
Moore does exagerate, he does manipulate opinion, he uses bias in almost everything he does. The reason he does this? Because the opposition (our leaders) are doing exactly the same thing, but for some reason when it comes from our leaders we tend to accept what they say blindly and without question.
Are Moores films any good? Well that depends on what you are referring to. They are filmed quite cheaply and production values are poor. But they are very watchable and humorous. Moore never misses an opportunity to take the p@%s out of his opponents.
Do they do what they are supposed to do? You bet.
Is that a good thing or a bad thing? I think a bit of both but without people like Moore (who may well make a few million bucks out of it all) we would be fed only one side of the story and that my friends is definately bad.
I will watch Sicko and Manufacturing Dissent with an open mind and feel sorry for my American brothers, who have to live in such a divided, unfair society.
