Man vs Wild S04E02 WS DSRip XviD-aAF

I totally forgot that Man vs Wild returned last week, but I posted the links for that ep as well. This is probably one of the best survival shows on TV right now, and although Survivorman has an ok show, I feel like that show just bores me out and isn’t entertaining. Eating worms, raw fish, grub, and hunting for fish with man made bows and arrows could keep anyone watching.

Bear Grylls shows us Namibia, one of the hottest and driest places in the world. He soon meets with the San Bushmen, masters of desert survival and gets a lesson on how to survive there.

    Sad to say – this guy is a fraud. Saw him in an episode where he was nearly freezing to death?! Presumly he saved his ass by traveling down an ice cold river – with help from some stuff he found on his way in the wilderness – I don’t remember what. Just fake all of it. You could see the guy having a wetsuit under his clothes and floating material. The show is just stupid- and dangerous – if anyone should be tempted. But the show is OK for a good laugh.

    @6

    Who cares, its not like he promised not to sleep at a hotel :D Besides it still makes for one good show, and if you laugh at what happens in this show, you’re an idiot.

    Ooohh… I’m happy to see the most truest, least fakest and most trustworthy of these survivalist type shows returning. Is there anything Bear Grylls can not survive? Awesome show, keeps you on the edge of your seat and on top of that it really gives great tips if ever you’re in such a situation. Thumbs up all the way!

    He really doesn’t offer that much depth of content regarding actual survival advice. Everything he does mention is simply fed to him by a -true survivalist- before the taping. Special Forces soldiers really only learn the basics, they might take it upon themselves to learn more, like plant biology, etc, thats on them. The huge majority learn on the run, after many years. The average career doesn’t last anywhere near long enough to learn what a survivalist has learned after 20 years or more.

    The Canadian guy, Les Stroud and his show Surivorman, is worlds better. The guy carries his own gear, and is actually alone.

    Les Stroud>Bear Grylls! Stroud’s show may be less entertaining because he doesn’t have any camera crew, but he’s way more hardcore than Grylls… Les ftw!:P

    yeah he drank his own pee and if you did it the way he did, you would not survive. les stroud is the true survivor, he lived in the woods for a year with nothing. if you watch bear and try to survive your screwed. http://www.daughtersoftiresias.org/bearwiki/Bad_Advice_and_Inaccuracies
    here there is a huge list of things he did wrong or would get you killed.

    In one episode filmed in California’s Sierra Nevada mountains he was shown biting off the head of a snake for breakfast and boasting that he was living on ‘just a water bottle, a cup and a flint for making fire’.

    Viewers were not told that he was actually spending some nights in the Pines Resort hotel at Bass Lake, where the rooms have Internet access and is advertised as ‘a cosy getaway for families’ complete with blueberry pancakes for breakfast.

    In another episode when Grylls declared he was a ‘real life Robinson Crusoe’ stuck on a desert island, he was actually on an outlying part of the Hawaiian archipelago and retired to a motel at nightfall.

    Mark Weinert, a survival consultant brought in for the programme, said one show also wrongly gave the impression that the adventurer built a Polynesian- style raft using only materials around him, including bamboo and palm leaves for a sail.

    Mr Weinert had in fact led a team that built the raft, which was then dismantled so that Grylls could be shown constructing it on camera.

    In another episode, Grylls was filmed attempting to lasso ‘wild’ mustang in the Sierra Nevada, when the horses were actually tame and had been brought in by trailer from a nearby trekking station.

    To prove to you all that Bear is as legit as they come I’m going to set out on a week long trek out in my local forested area and follow Bear’s advice to the letter and document it all with my camcorder and post it up on a video serving site. Yeah then we’ll see who laughs last while laughing first or something…
