It starts a little slow, makes you wonder if it's going to pick up, and then it sure does. Robin had ALOT of freedom to use say what he wanted, even offensive stuff, and even though I expected to hear a joke or two from his Live on Broadway HBO bit, he never actually reused any of his one liners - they were all fresh, and often with a political slant. I loved it, and it definitely raised some issues about american politics. It was kind of surreal in the way that his character in the movie was a catalyst to political change, when in real life I could see this movie having the exact same effect. As they said in the movie, when you need $200 million to dollars to launch a successful television campaign, you owe money to someone somewhere. When you become president, you have no choice but to pay back your debts to the lobbyists and oil companies, putting the citizens on the backburner.
