The sequel of the first movie, the New York Zoo Animals, Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe and Gloria the Hippo, still stranded on Madagascar, started to leave the island. R5 is a region 5 DVD -> Russia -> R5 releases are mostly DVDRips from R5 DVDs… so, you genius, it’s is nor a dvdrip, nor an r5 release.

there’s a good reason for the R5 tag m8. while the source media is, indeed, a DVD, it’s not exactly DVD quality
the reason is because, first of all, the video quality is not very good (it’s actually 320×240 upscaled for DVD, don’t ask me why they do that in Russia with their DVDs xD ), and secondly most of the time the audio is from a TS release, because, obviously, the Russian DVD does NOT feature english language
i’m not complaining, i’m just explaining why the scene has a R5 tag and a DVDrip tag

While this *is* mislabeled, it’s fine for the kids… just use VLC or another program that has some rudimentary filters and wind up the contrast and colour saturation… looks as good as DVD for smaller CRT screens then.

according to posts and comments on torrent sites, this is not a dvdrip, nor an r5……………but an exact copy of the TC released some time ago. just reencoded with some filters applied for better color
DUQA – Has NEVER once encoded anything on his own, EVER. EVERY one of his movies is renamed. EVERY ONE. (from scene and p2p sources) They NEVER reencoded anything, just renamed them.
I was one of the people that got his sorry behing banned from Mininova.
From his very first movie “Underdog”, all he has done is rename movies with his own tag and claimed he ripped them.

We gladly got rid of this noob from our site. All he did was rename PreVails or any other scene groups releases. They were the exact same size, on several occasions he even forgot to rename some FXG torrents he stole. I spoke with DUQA on MSN, questioning him about encoding, the kid did not have a BREEZE, and he is only a child btw.
I agree with all the above comments – this is a sham.

It could be labelled up as a BR/TC/TS or TC Rip! it doesnt necessarily mean it is, P2P doesnt need to follow the Scene Rules! It wont be nuked for the wrong name, because its P2P!, how does that make Vantec a fool.

Regarding P2P releases…
Discarding them altogether would be, imho, a mistake. Some really good stuff is produced outside the scene, following or not the scene rules. (actually the ones who care do follow the scene rules, just because most of them make make sense (though, sill imho, the size rules (700mb, split cd size, could be freshened up, who cares about size nowadays).
Of course, guys like DUQA do not fit the profile, but people on P2P are often committed in offering just as good a rip as any scener group (and sometimes better). They’ll even go, for some, to the trouble of subtitling themselves their rips if no subs are available. They’ll hunt for gems, rarities and oddities that are difficult to find elsewhere, and, every once in a while, they’ll stumble on a not yet public DVD, DVDscr, or similar source.
So no, I wouldn’t dismiss p2p out of hand, just because it’s not “scene”. I’d check by myself and _then_ use my better judgment to decide if the given release is worth keeping or not.
But, hey, that’s me. You’re free to consider p2per’s as second rate noobs with no clues. I’ll simply enjoy the good releases by myself

If you feel the need to support any of you fellows over here at RLG, at least do it for a reason. It’s more than obvious that the poster managed to share information about a crap release from a field that supposedly isn’t supported by the site in any case. Nevertheless, I would have understood it if we had anything worthy in our hands in order to surpass this general RLG rule, but for this worthless release, there’s just no excuse. Do your homework first, before posting for this kind of stuff in the future and moreover your self-critiscism. Yes…you do screw up from time to time and you have to admit it when this happens.

you’re the idiot, when we say DVDrip we expect it to be from the actual DVD released, not a dvd bought/released from another pirate, second its an HQ cam, third, sound does not come from TS, the audio comes from the movies/theaters (what ever you’d like to call it) and is either done through microphones or a line, which is why they’re tagged LiNE n stuff like that, the sound can be extracted/demuxed from other releases and put together/muxed with a new release
what the hell. who are you all complainers to tell people at rlslog how to manage their website. just skip whatever doesn’t suits your taste. or start your own website that has only the stuff YOU want.

Still cracks me up some people’s definition of Scene Tags.
R5 is a DVD Rip, but not RETAIL! R5s are pre-RETAIL releases launched in Russia (& other countries) by the movie’s production company to combat the ever problematic piracy scene. The main points of difference between R5s & Retail are R5s don’t get a proper Menu/Title, deleted scenes, alternative endings, subtitles etc etc that you would normally find on a Retail DVD. Also, picture quality is almost near final DVD release & audio quality is reduced to the likes of which you would find if recorded through a telephone speaker. This is purposely done to deter most from watching or even to buy the proper Retail version once it’s released.
If you see an R5 release with the word LINE in the title, then the audio source has been taken from either a high quality TC release or from cinemas that cater for the hearing impaired; those with Line-out headphone jacks.
