This has to be one of the worst blockbuster comedies of the year. Starring 4 big names in Hollywood, you would like to expect it to be funny. Flunking hard on IMDB (4.5) and RT (20%), it seems like this movie was an excuse for the trio of actresses to make some ‘Mad Money’ of their own. Just look at little Katie counting the money. I know you’re reading this Katie. Shame on you. SSF did a good job on this one with high video bitrate and the normal MP3 audio.

Synopsis: Academy Award® winner Diane Keaton (Something’s Gotta Give), Oscar® nominee Queen Latifah (Chicago) and Katie Holmes (Thank You for Smoking) star in Mad Money, a comedy about three ordinary women who form an unlikely friendship and decide to do something extraordinary—rob one of the most secure banks in the world.     Why is it that comedies with an all female cast, even including a veteran female comedian, just never seem to get a very high critical rating?

    The word(s) is Tyler Perry. Don’t expect this early at all. All of his movies come about 2 weeks before their official DVD release date. Tyler Perry hates losing out on his money and therefore never sends out screeners and protects his movies as best as he can. And I am sure those in the R5 don’t want to see his movies, so there won’t be an R5. I would be totally SHOCKED if there was one.

    Even if the actors (female/male) do a good job there are still other factors that have to work well. Like strong charachters,chemistry and a good story for instance. I haven’t seen the movie yet so I won’t say anything about that.
    A cast has to appeal to someone. Katie Holmes,Diane Keaton and Queen Latifah are not actresses that appeal to me. That’s just personal. I also think that they are a very unlikely combination. To say that it is sexism is too easy.
    A movie like “Juno” didn’t appeal to me also until Ellen Page blew me away with her acting. She was a strong charachter and very funny. Being funny is very subjective.
    Some will like certain jokes and some won’t. To me it doesn’t matter if the person is male or female. You can never say that women aren’t as funny as men. It really depends.
    I will admit this to you. There aren’t many actresses that impress me. I have my favorites and they have proven to be wonderful actresses again and again (Cate Blanchet is an example,Hellen Mirren,Nathalie Portman). But there are too many actresses that just are ok or even can’t act and usually are put in for their looks. You could deny this fact. I have seen several movies that demanded a better actress but Hollywood always chooses to ignore that and just go for the looks. Because in the end they just care about the money.

    Oh! Can’t say I’ve been looking forward to this release but if I get bored I might download it…maybe! Gosh! It’s been a pretty quiet Easter…True we’ve been bombarded with HD or Blue Ray or whatever releases but that along with the cheap horror films has made the scene frustrating. Im looking for Cloverfield man….:L Oh well, guess I’ll wait impatiently
    Hope we get a DVDScreener of Funny Games soon. Looks awesome and I feel we may see it in Screener form

    Could possible by a screener of Cloverfield sometime this week, but if not, Diamond will release it Friday, April 4th, as it is due for Retail Street Date of April 22nd and Diamond is always three weeks ahead of retail dates. So another 13 days to wait at the lastest.

    This movie is not produced by one of the 5 major hollywood studios. This and the fact that it’s not as worse than many other flicks this year(saw it with my gf) should make you think about what’s going on behind the scenes of all the critics and reviews. Certain people in hollywood wanted this film to fail and they did everything they could to ensure that… including giving out mad bribe money.
