Mad Detective 2007 DVDRip XviD-WRD

There are no new interesting movies today so I have a tip for an Asian flick for you. Mad Detective (or “Sun Taam” in the original name) is an action thriller filmed in China (expect Cantonese audio with English subtitles in this release). It has been presented at various film festivals including Tribeca, Vancouver or Venice and received overally positive feedback (8.1 at IMDB). The retail DVD will be available on 31 January so you can get this dvdrip with few days in advance.

Inspector Bun (Lau Ching Wan) is a brilliant detective who is forced into retirement after presenting his retiring boss with a severed ear. Bun’s gift is that he can supposedly see a person’s “inner personalities,” or hidden ghosts. Years later, Inspector Ho Ka-On (Andy On) visits Bun in an attempt to break the case of Wong Kwok-chu (Lee Kwok Lun), a cop who went missing when he and his partner, Ko Chi-Wai (Lam Ka Tung) were in pursuit of a suspect. Wong has been AWOL for 18 months and his gun used in a series of armed robberies. Bun comes out of retirement and discovers that rather than being one man, Chi-Wai is a seven spirit collective (with each perhaps representing an aspect of the Seven Deadly Sins). Ho doesn’t know whether to buy into Bun’s sixth sense or simply watch in awe and hope that there’s more than madness to Bun’s method.

    Hey Martin, instead of banning people for off topic stuff, why not ban the idiots posting rapidshare and other upload site links, as 98% of the time, the .rar’s from these links contain viruses. As well, this is a TORRENT site, so why allow that? This site will go down the drain very soon if you keep allowing the use of these sharing applications. Remember, you don’t host any material here with the torrents, with rapishare though, I’d say it is questionable that you are indeed helping to spread copyrighted material.

    @61 There are torrents out there with subs included,it’s for the same movie,so just download the subs.

    @33Timmy toetoe.
    You have no idea what you are talking about. First of all you can’t make a statement like that. Like Hollywood movies there are too many different genres.
    And nowadays it is just the other way around. More asian movies have been remade in Hollywood than you could imagine.
    (The Departed is a remake of Infernal Affairs,One missed call,The Ring,The Grudge,Pulse,Dark Water,should I go on?)

    And not only that. Also the style of certain movies have been copied. What about “The Matrix”? Did you think that all the action seen there is original. Most of the action there is from HK and Japanese action movies. Slowmo shootouts (John Woo movies),bullettime (John Woo movies and Ring Lam’s Full Contact)). The stun team responsible for the the action is Yuen Woo Ping (action choreographer and director) from the best action movies ever,example “Iron Monkey” and “Fist of Legend”.

    And what the hell should I look at then. Most of the Hollywood movies that came out last year and now have disappointed me completely.
    There are a lot of movies made outside Hollywood (Korean,Japanese,Bollywood,European,British,) that have been far more enjoyable than stuff made in Hollywood. And only to rely on Hollywood is stupid. You should broaden your mind.

    While I am not an immediate fan of Johnny To I appreciate some of his work. But that is the thing with him,you knever know. So I surely going to check this movie.

    Here’s a little information about “Assembly”:

    Rumor has it that several battle scenes were cut out from the final theater version, which is the same as all of the current scene releases.

    Although yet to be confirmed, it sounds very convincing to me, because when I saw it, I thought the biggest problem was that the first half of the movie was not smooth enough, the characters and the connections between them were not built up well enough…long story short, it needed more battle scenes!

    I can’t figure out why they cut out so many scenes, maybe they learned from King Kong or other lengthy blockbusters? more profitable theater arrangements?

    For playback on pc with vlc media player—>Make sure sub file has the same filename as the movie,EX: wrd-madd.avi and name the sub file wrd-madd.srt <– or whatever your sub file extension is, Put it in the same directory as the movie and then go into your subtitle options and turn them on.

    Also my divx player is the same I put the movie and sub file [being named the same] on the dvd and the player now has a subtitle option on/off.
