MacItBetter BetterZip v1.7.3 MacOSX-ROGUE
If you only need a few files or folders from a larger archive, you don’t have to extract the whole thing and remove all the unneeded files. Simply drag the files you need from the BetterZip window to any Finder window or the desktop.
BetterZip can open archives without first extracting them which is fast, really fast. Then search for a file with the search box like in iTunes. BetterZip can open and extract archives with the most common formats: ZIP, SIT, TAR, GZip, BZip2, RAR, 7-Zip, CPIO, ARJ, LZH/LHA, JAR, WAR, CAB, ISO, CHM, RPM, DEB, NSIS, BIN, HQX, DD.
Simply drag files and folders from your hard drives, disks, or network places into your new zip file. You no longer have to copy all the files into a temporary folder first. When you are ready save the archive and everything is packed together. The supported formats are ZIP, TAR, GZip and BZip2 compressed TAR, 7-ZIP, and RAR (using the external RAR commandline tool). Large archives can be split.

do these small apps need separate threads?
meh, too bad their isnt a windows version because who would use this on a MAC? Kind of pointless when winrar is for PC. Most people that use MAC use it for art or are just f4ggy trend followers, so i doubt they have any use for this.

um, no. They in no way run windows better. Try playing Crysis on your bootcamped MAC and then get back to me. I have a quad core PC with 4 GB ram, and it runs EVERYTHING faster than my bosses MAC with a quad core and 8 GB ram and cost $2000 dollars less.

Thanks for the amusing links. Now, like I already said, run crysis, COD, GTA IV, etc.. on a MAC running vista and get back to me. Vista on a PC will own your benchmarks, no question about it.
To the mac supporters here. Wow, all i have to do is spend 2 to 3 times as much money, and i get a slightly faster machine? wow…. i’d rather have 2 pc’s.
This application alone is the reason i won’t buy a Mac. Taking individual files out of an archive is something i just take for granted on a PC. I wonder what else a Mac cant do…

Or, is it just that criticizing “trend followers” makes you feel like more of an individual, a true independent thinker? Hi, I have a mac pro 8Gb 8800GTS and 2x quad core. To play games other than warcraft I use a vista64 on bootcamp without any problem.
Why do I want to sit at home in front of a computer for more than i get paid to do. I spend 10 hours at work on my Mac Pro, when i get home, The last thing i want to do is Sit in front of a computer, Mac or PC…
You know outside, there are people real people they talk and everything, they use this stuff called Money to pay for things. so when you work hard enough and get enough money. you can make choices when you have money, i choose to go out and spend it on pretty things, mac are amazing products to look at and use, and it works exactly when, and how i want it to. it has its faults but hey. so does my wife.
