Lupe Fiasco - The Cool Retail (2007)

A fairly new and until last year pretty much unknown American rapper Lupe Fiasco releases his second album “The Cool” and you can get it now thanks to group WHOA, who brought it on the scene 7 days faster against the retail date. If you want to listen litle different style of hip hop, this is a good choice.

Lupe Fiasco’s The Cool expands on the story Lupe told on the track, “The Cool”, from his debut album. Fiasco introduces the characters the Streets and the Game. Each character has defining attributes explained in the Food & Liquor bonus track Pills: The Game has dice for eyes, blunts for arms, and hollow tips for teeth. The Streets is a temptress with dollar signs for eyes and tattoos of ex-boyfriends like Al Capone and Alexander the Great. The album tells the story of the little boy from “He Say/She Say” who grew up without a father, and the people that step in to raise him are the Streets and the Game.

Wasalu Muhammad Jaco (born February 16, 1982 in Chicago, Illinois) better known by his stage name Lupe Fiasco, is an American rapper. He rose to fame in 2006 following the success of his critically acclaimed debut album, Lupe Fiasco’s Food & Liquor. Prominent hip hop mogul Jay-Z describes him as a “breath of fresh air” in a new hip-hop world characterized by mainstream pop and glamour, a sharp contrast with the widespread lyricism-focused rap of the 1990s, and critics have called him the “hip-hop Generation Next vanguard.” His second album, Lupe Fiasco’s The Cool, is expected to be released December 18th, 2007.

    @3 and 8

    you are both free to dislike hiphop music, but the fact you don’t like it doesn’t make it crap or not good. It’s art. Many love the Halo series, but I don’t…cause well I don’t like the whole genre of FPS, and don’t really like the idea of going around other people for fun, but I respect those who think it’s fun, it’s just not my kind of thing, what I really hate is when people don’t like hiphop and call it crap just cause they don’t like it. Lupe Fiasco has been nominated for four grammy awards including best hiphop album. It’s a grammy, the most respect music award for the american industry.

    Rlslog seems to be a hiding place for ignorant pussies, they wouldn’t have the balls to say a lot of this crap in real life. Clearly they don’t deserve free speech, bring on the censors!

    When is the music industry going to quite their patronizing of this crap by calling it music? It’s time to get truthful and call it what it is—horrible poetry put to a terrible soundtrack. Most of this crap teaches HATE! We do not need anymore HATE in this world.
    I know thousands of African-Americans. Yet none of them where born in Africa. Does this make me a Euro-American? Hell No it doesn’t. It makes me an American. Let’s stop this political correct sh!t and face the truth. If you were born in America, you are an American—Not an African-American.

    i don’t wanna get into the whole download music argument
    but if you downloaded it and liked it , BUY it
    it comes out on tuesday the 18th

    also on this album he went more alternative with the sound
    especially on a song called Little Weapon produced by Patrick Stump from Fall out boy

    and another Called Hello/Goodbye assisted by UNKLE

    Lupe Fiasco’s album truly represents what the world is about right now through lyrics that express intelligence and understanding, yet still flowing together in clever words that make you think, as well as listen even harder to fully process. He and Kanye West are my favorite rappers because they represent how we, all races, can break free of the mold that binds us to stereotypes. Lupe Fiasco’s the cool is a fantastic album and I haven’t even bought it yet, still I have heard Ben Frank, Real and Superstar and the choice and variation of words and how he laces them together can only represent pure genius. He talks about how we percieve the world, small significant things that influence us, and human natutre as well, in Superstar, our love for the limelight and how we yearn for it, Real with how we want for temptation and need to focus on the light. I can say that Lupe is up there with Common and Kanye. True rap artists. Truly educated and aware of the world. Love this album.
