Lost S03E16 HDTV XViD-Caph
Another Thursday, another new episode of LOST. Well I was already thinking many times to drop this show, as it was going really down in last few weeks, but I still somehow stay attached to it looking forward to see what’ll happen next time. We’re already used to see a lot of these someone-centric episodes, which barely move the plot forward but rather broaden it to something which will keep the show aired for next few years, but also bore the audience to death.
May be someone in the crew realized that, so they try to add also some connection with the main story line. As a result of that, latest episodes of Lost including the newest s03e16 aren’t bad at all, but they are a long way from the initial hype from this TV show. Let’s review few details about the latest episode called “One of us” (SPOILERS): Highly suspicious behaviour of Jack taking Juliet under his protection is explained now – she wants to leave the island the same way as everyone else who survived the Oceanic’s flight. This realization isn’t that true as we can see within few last minutes – she’s just a part of great Ben’s masterplan with yet unknown target. Juliet is playing his role on A mark and the survivors begin to trust her, leaving fooled Jack and all others behind. Only Sayid and Sawyer still remain unconvincted and they may save the camp from apocalypse in the next episodes.
It’s hard to belive these two guys can’t find a working method how to extort the reality from Juliet, when they do not have problems almost killing each other. I understand there must be some anticipation for the future developement, but this makes me little upset, accepting a total foreigner directly into your basecamp. We can only guess what will happen with this gas mask and I wouldn’t wonder to see a next, completely offtopic episode next time, which would only complicate the story line somehow and wouldn’t explain Ben’s intension. Eventhough, that’s what keeps people watching this show and producers are well aware of it. I’m happy this episode didn’t become a complete rubbish as some previous did…
Episode’s plot: The celebration of Jack’s return is cut short when he arrives at the beach with an Other, Juliet, whose flashbacks pick up from where they left off, showing us how she got onto the island and became an Other. Meanwhile, Claire is threatened by a strange illness.

I dont agree, the last 3/4 shows were much better than the previous ones. It looked like they were going downhill, I remember Hurley finding some truck in the jungle wich took way too long and was incredibly boring, they were going even faster down the hill than that, but they picked up the pace and it looks better now.

You mean the one that is just like ones the others used when they were throwing all those gas grenades around? That clip was from a flashback before she was “left behind”, I’m sure he just gave it to her so that she wouldn’t pass out too.
Yeah I’m with Nick, that was an obvious one. lol
Though, this was a really good episode.
Episodes have been getting considerably stronger week by week. I really enjoyed this one.
Remember, Sun is pregnant too and will probably need the serum to stay alive. This is probably as simple as Juliette needing to inject her.
The gas mask was so that she would have time to drag Kate into the woods and pretend to be gassed too.
I think Juliet is working her own agenda, not Ben’s.
Normally, I don’t criticize spelling or grammar but it’s hard to read this site without wincing.

Glad I didn’t read this before watching this episode, the amount of spoilers in this review are just too much. I hope this is not becoming a trend for all tv series reviews or even movie reviews….Oooh wait, there’s a spoilers notice, which I didn’t notice until reading it again. :/ Put the plot above spoilers, and a better noticeable spoiler warning wouldn’t hurt either imho. Watching the previous episode wouldn’t hurt either, then you would have know what the gas mask was for. -_-

lost is stretching it’s plot like x-Files did.

nice at the end (i liked the idea that so
many characters from SE01 died). And even when i thought
they should end it with Season 2 –
they pulled it off @ the very end – I wanna see more!

No one seems to have commented that the sound is horribly out of sync. This is true of ALL Caph group releases. Note: I refer to when you burn the file to CD and watch on home dvd player. The files do play ok on VLC. I have recoded each file with Divx pro, and then they play ok on the home dvd. Many, many people have complained about Caph on eztv forums. The eztv admin insists on posting Caph releases [instead of good ones from reliable groups like LOL]. Caph has ruined the past five Lost episodes, and the most recent Desperate Housewives. |This group should be banned or taught how to properly do its job.
@ the reviewer: This show has been improving since episode 10, so I don’t know what you’ve been viewing. Try watching the episodes properly before making unfounded comments like “We can only guess what will happen with this gas mask”, you make any case for slating the show look lame.
@ DSRS: Your PC is clearly missing some codecs or is set up poorly, there is no sync problem, can you see anyone else complaining?
It’s a funny to read always comparison between prison break and lost.
Personally, i think that the 2 are good but the current season was a little boring not like the previous one

Yeah Lost is finally becoming decent again. The third season’s beginning was terrible.
this episode was great and I agree with other people, it only looked like the show was going down hill in a few of the firt episodes after they came back after that long wait we all had, and this ep just brought back memories of Alias which isn’t a bad thing at all, in fact, this ep is one of my favourites of the season just that last 2 minutes got me saying “YES WOOHOO” at the screen
(I think next weeks might be a Locke episode as we’ve not seen him since they left)
Ronnie the first 7 eps of this season were pretty good, it was a few of the ones after the break that went a bit crap, but they have pulled it back in the last 4 or so eps, so hopefully they can keep it up.

To: Karl Rove (if you are even still monitoring this) – I thought the same thing about Sun at first, but *SPOILER* if you remember in the flashback it was not actually that Claire got sick due to her pregnancy, but that Ben set off some sort of injected device that made her sick. The implication is that Juliet’s serum actually did fix Claire–or that Claire was okay because she concieved off-island (Juliette had said that the problems with on-island pregnancies happened at the time of conception), which would still make Sun’s situation questionable.
I tend to agree with others that Juliet is running her own agenda at this point, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
As annoying as the ‘filler’ episodes are, sometimes they are necessary, and I’m sure we’ve not seen the last of them. They have a couple of purposes. First, they allow the writers some breathing room to give the plot time to grow (they’ve only been on the island for what, 3 months now? And the show’s been on-air for 3 seasons now), it gives the opportunity for some background to be laid down which allows us (the audiance) to understand what is going on in the episodes that are plot-packed, and allows for minor things to be introduced to be used later (a la the Hugo’s Mystery Machine A.K.A. The Hippie Van). Not always the most exciting things to watch, but they really do make the following episodes better because we’re not having to sit in the middle of a major episode and having to seguey into an explination of where they got this car from, or what happened to Mr. Echo.

I agree with spar. It was going downhill, but it managed to pick itself up in the last month or so. Kind of. Obviously there are more questions than answers with this show, but I think it only needs 1 or 2 more seasons before it gets really old. Therefore it should end nicely in the next season or something.
Juliet’s a great new character and I’m glad to see that this episode, which is based around her, further revealed the actress’s acting abilities.
I Agree juilet is good actor damn fine looking too id surely like to see a filler episode with the possibility of some morale boosting, im thinking maybe kate juilet claire mabeye even the cute dead one and of course some good old Dharma initative brand dutch courage followed by a wet t-shirt compo and some skinny dipping id surely watch 45 mins of that w/out whinging plus i feel that seeing them starkers would create an actor audience bond which would defo’ make me tune in for the next 500 episoes regardless of what shite they put in them.

Claire didn’t have anything wrong with her — she was implanted with something by the Others to trigger an “illness”. So, as long as Sun concieved off the Island, she’ll be fine. Kate, on the other hand, may not be.
