Finaly, back from my exams and the perfect timing: a new episode of lost is out. After a good turnaround in the story, some things happenned in the last episode I’m thrilled to know more about, I’m sure you feel the same way.

Episode’s plot (Spoiler): When Kate and Locke arrive at the Others’ camp, Ben promises to tell Locke the island’s secrets as long as he stops his destructive plan, and Kate’s reunion with Jack doesn’t go very well when she learns that the Others have offered him a deal. More of Locke’s troubled past is revealed.

he asked the old dude where he came up with the “cursed” numbers, exact conversation back then :

LENNY: You used those numbers to play the lottery?
    HURLEY: Uh, yeah.
LENNY: Well, you shouldn’t have done that. You’ve opened the box.

I think the show may have “jumped the shark” with this episode.

The “bad” losties are healed by the island while the “good” others do not. Ahh, the inequities of fantasy.

Locke has become a weasel. We all guessed that he likes being on the island and may not want to leave. Why then would he choose to inform Dharma of the communication station being taken over by the others via the chess game? Anyone with a lick of sense would have to figure that by pressing the keys that ultimately blew up the communications station would, logically, also inform Dharma of a takeover and need for assistance. A reasonable conclusion by Locke would be this would probably spell the end of his days on the island.

Claire finds out her father is alive but doesn’t ask him his name. And daddy doesn’t introduce himself? yeah. right.

Sayid becomes an idiot by choosing to enter a seriously fortified camp without an assured exit to rescue a guy that looks perfectly content to be with the others while hiding in plain site.

The “box” is about as far from reality as you can get. The creators were obviously lying when they said the show was explainable with current scientific knowledge. Maybe there is a magic mirror and we’ll go to Narnia next.

Also, the others should be able to peice together that Ben allowed the submarine to be blown up. I’ll bet this will be ignored because it would fracture the others into factions and overly complicate the storyline. Very weak what Ben did with Locke! He’s a real Kreskin The Magnificent.

Since the Hurley-centric episode, the writing has taken on a heavy handed different feeling. Certain plot lines are being hurriedly shorn up with awkward dialogue. The obvious is ignored more than before. It’s as if ABC told the writers to clear some things up and the writers wrote this mess in a funk. There is a real lack of subtlety enjoyed until now.

I hope they fix this swirl towards the drain.

well that was a huge story mover – something we couldn’t see in a long time. i would agree with most comments from Wanky though, they are making a completely different TV show out of it, and this can lead only to more anger from the audience. you can just tip about the main person of next episode – as it seems to be a real trend now, one episode, one personality with his previous life and problems, which last till now. but at least something happens…

I wholeheartedly agree with #4. The chess game from episode eleven was one of the worst pieces of story I’ve seen in a TV series ever. It was so stupid it hurt.

They should’ve ended Lost after season two when it was still interesting to watch. I *hate* it how TV stations ride their property to the ground by endlessly milking their franchise and producing episode after episode without a proper storyline anymore.

I fear this will happen to “Heroes” next, once they stopped the bomb from exploding. Maybe they’ll make kind of a repeating story out of it… for each season one of the characters could have premonitions of an atomic bomb going of and the “heroes” have to stop it. They should make them wear pairs of tights and put them into colorful clothes. Yes, that was sarcasm – but one never knows what goes on in the heads of people deciding over the future of those shows.

When heroes finishes season 1 the current story will be concluded. The creator states the second season will be an entirely different story a la 24 and introduce new characters. So it should stay fresh.

Cancel the show after the second season?! That makes so little sense the mind boggles. They aren’t milking the show at all, they’ve planned the story out for 5 seasons, to end it now would be ridiculous. Lots of TV shows have rough patches. Hell, I thought South Park was getting lame when the kids moved up to 4th grade. Had they cancelled it then I would have never seen some of my favorite episodes. Just be patient.

Lost != Southpark. Southpark doesn’t have a common theme over all episodes like Lost or Heroes. These two shows are (or in Lost’s case better “were”) more like a very long movie, where each episode adds to a common story. Quite the contrary, patching crap episodes in (like complete Lost season three until now) doesn’t make any sense at all. They should’ve made up a proper ending after the second season, before the clusterfuck began.

Has anyone figured out that it’s Locke’s dad who is the real “Sawyer”…

    Talahassee is the clue

Great Episode! the writers said it will take about a 100 episodes to complete Lost, so they’ll end it after 4 seasons.

”Has anyone figured out that it’s Locke’s dad who is the real “Sawyer”…

    Talahassee is the clue”

I get the Talahassee thing, but how is he the real sawyer?

  14. Sawyer
    March 24th, 2007 | 04:03

Lockes dad is the “real” sawyer because Sawyer isn’t the characters (the hill billy, who likes kate) real name. Its something like Jonathan?

He uses that name, ’sawyer’ because this is the name of a con-man who conned his parents when he was young. He has ever since hated this person more than anyone. So he goes by this name sawyer, probably because he too ended up a con-man, and he can remind himself of what a bad-guy he is, yet in the inside, he does feel bad about it.

I think most people made the connection of “con man” Cooper and Sawyer’s role model and family wrecker many months ago. It wasn’t much of a stretch when we found out Locke’s dad is a flimflam artist and Sawyer’s childhood was devastated by a con man.

The lastest interesting twist I’ve heard is who Ben’s mom might be. This presumption was made from a painting in Ben’s home. Is there going to be an Oedipal Complex storyline in the future?

Does Ben want Mommy’s magical box?

HAHA!! if lost goes down that route, there’s no way back for the show.
