Lost Planet Extreme Condition-Unleashed

Do you have a Directx 10 card? Do you want to actually play a Directx 10 compatible game that will show of all the new next gen effects? If the answer to both those questions was yes then your in luck with Lost Planet Extreme Condition from Japanese powerhouse Capcom. Even if your not in possession of the latest Directx 10 graphics cards you can still play this game in DX 9 mode which will lower graphics a little. Still you need a really up to date system to play this game anything below a Geforce 6600 or equivalent wont fly here. Anyway this was first released on the Xbox 360 almost a year ago so yea this is a console port. The developers claim to have added all sorts of new stuff but I’m sure it wont add up to much of a difference as with most ports. Gamespot have an early review of the PC version and it has scored almost 1 point lower which is quite a lot for what is effectively the same game. Really shows how the quality between different versions of the same game change. The team who released this, UNLEASHED are usually known as a CLONE group but this time they have included some cracked files as well, most likely because Capcom choose to use Steam as the copy protection instead of conventional systems such as SecuROM. So unless the likes of RELAODED, HATRED, ViTALiTY etc can do better (they probably can) there wont be another version. If this looks like it floats your boat then start the whopping 7 GB download now!

Combining a gripping single player campaign and intense multiplayer modes with support for up to 16 players online, Lost Planet is an epic gaming masterpiece. Enormous world maps unfold as players battle hostile creatures in blistering weather conditions across vast snow fields and blazing volcanic areas either on foot or in armed, robotic Vital Suits.

The PC version will feature enhanced graphics and effects to optimize the realistic presentation and explosive action in the game, including better shadows and more detailed textures, as well as higher monitor resolutions. In addition, the game will include a new lobby interface that has been adapted for the system. Players will have the option to play either using a mouse and keyboard or a gamepad controller. Capcom will also partner with NVIDIA® on their “The Way It’s Meant To Be Played” program to showcase the incredible gaming experience that consumers can expect with a PC equipped with the latest NVIDIA GeForce graphics processors.

Features:

  • Extreme Conditions: Battle enemies and the environment. Conserve heat from enemy bodies and keep killing, before your temperature drops.
  • Survival Tools: Defeat giant Akrid using numerous weapons and “Vital Suits” that can upgrade into fast-moving vehicles and heavy tanks.
  • Band Together: Beyond the 12 epic single-player missions, take the battle for survival online with unique 16-player multi-player action.
  • Vehicle Based Gameplay: Jump in and out of a variety of heavily armed vehicles not only to help players traverse the treacherous terrain, but eliminate the terrifying enemies that threaten their survival.
  • Vast Arctic Environments: Snowstorms, arctic winds, towering mountains of ice are all stunningly realized, creating a truly immersive and cinematic event of epic proportions.

System Requirements:

  • Windows XP / Vista with Direct X9.0c
  • Intel Pentium 4 HT / AMD Athlon 64 3500+ or greater
  • 512MB RAM (XP) / 1GB RAM (Vista)
  • 8GB Hard Drive Space
  • DVD-ROM Drive (DVD9 compatible)
  • 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 6600 or equivalent (DirectX 9.0c + Shader3.0 compatible)
  • DirectSound compatible Sound Card
  • Mouse and Keyboard
  • Note: NVIDIA Geforce 7300 is not supported.

Sniny, you may want to consider using a gamerankings link instead of(/in addition to) linking to IGN and Gamespot. Gamerankings (owned by Gamespot, I think) calculates average scores and provides links to all major websites’ and game magazines’ reviews. It can be particularly good source of information for all those games that get released in Japan and Europe much earlier than they hit the U.S. and, therefore, lack any kind of American press coverage at the time when they get mentioned at RSLOG.

Oh, by the way, thanks for the heads-up :)

  50. My Review
    June 29th, 2007 | 22:55

I played the DX10 demo on Vista (duh) and yea framerate was about 20-30fps on my 8600GTxxx although it was pretty solid and never went higher or lower.

After playing the demo I thought the game was a bit meh - they still have things like “Press (red)A to activate” when you walk up to things, so they didnt bother to change things like that which is only usefull if you play on PC with an Xbox controller.

To be honest it looked just like I was playing the xbox360 on my pc - gfx weren’t overwhelming, gameplay itself kinda sucks - not only are you getting attacked and losing health but the friggen weather drains your health too. What kind of moron would send anybody out in the freezing cold to fight without a warm-suit?

    I’ll be giving this a miss…

i find it completely okay for X-360 to port games to PC. i mean, you can use an X-360 controller (wired/wireless) on your computer now. so it should just be a matter of your specs, not control.

  67. This game is good
    July 1st, 2007 | 18:08

    Good
    * Stunning environments and creature designs
    * Enjoyable boss encounters
    * Firefights against enormous bugs are fun and
    exhilarating.
    Bad
    * Broken netcode may or may not let you into a
    multiplayer game
    * Various technical and porting issues get in the way of
    the enjoyment
    * Short single-player campaign is relatively easy.

Well whome, I hope you like slideshows and/or graphics from 1999, because that’s about what you can expect from this game given your machine’s specs. It runs like ass half the time on my FX60 x1900xtx with the details turned reasonbly high, and even then it doesn’t look nearly as good as the 360 version. Shitty, shitty port.

  70. July 2nd, 2007 | 14:04

Well @Post the game doesn’t need any valve server connectivity or anything it works offline, also it worked well with me when I turned off anti-aliasing and set anisotropic to 4X with resolution of 1024×768, my specs are:
    Processor: Intel E6600 (2.4 Core 2 Due 4MB cache)
    Ram: 2GBs Kingstone
    VGA: ATI X1950Pro 512MB GDDR3

Althou here in Japan we don’t get many games earlier than others. Besides it’s pointless to have a review just from europe when everyone has different taste in games. @CRIMSON
I don´t think so, maybe in the lowest quality. I had a geforce 6800 gts 256MB and didn´t work for me. My solution was upgrades.

  88. Kemnaly
    July 25th, 2007 | 02:26

I think a 7300GT should be able to handle this game since it is design off an G73 graphics archetecture and not the G72 like the 7300GS an LE. beside the the G73 archetecture is the same one use to deign the nvidia Ge-Force 7600GS and GT. thats all I nkow for now.

  89. Kemnaly
    July 25th, 2007 | 03:52

Yes the 7300GT can run this game. I just run a system check from nzone.com and they past it as a minimum requirement. so that settle the issue then.
