Lost Empire Immortals-RELOADED

With all the 4, 5, 6 and 7 GB games out there its nice to see a game released by a major group which comes in a smaller package every once in a while. Lost Empire which was released a few minutes ago is only 595 MB, so lets hope the gameplay is good. The installation process looks to be as simple as it gets with a cracked release. Lets just hope it actually works and ViTALiTY don’t have to come up with a crackfix. In any case this turn based strategy game looks like it might be popular at least with hardcore Strategy fans.

Set in space, Lost Empire: Immortals features 6 playable races, each with their own storyline who battle for domination of a vast empire. Players are able to research technologies from a multilevel science tree as well as use the leaders of their empire as diplomats, space engineers, archeologist and more.

  • Colossal Galactic Map – Explore the vastness of a fully populated macrocosm, teeming with up to 5,000 stars of varying configurations. Encounter the interstellar communities of six playable empires and twenty-eight uniquely evolved minor civilizations.
  • Vast Scientific Multi-nodal Research Tree – Conduct research across eleven scientific categories, branching out into 150 individual advances.
  • Customize Ship Construction – Spaceship models consist of eight classes that conform to a mission type: exploration, reconnaissance, defensive patrolling, fleet interdiction and planetary invasion.
  • 3D Rendered Dual Warfare System – View massive 3D rendered space battles between turns, through an action camera and adjust your strategy based on the outcomes of the space battles.
  • Multiplayer Action – Invite up to ten players to play in any one game. Create attributes to ensure that no two sides play with identical races.

System Requirements:

  • Windows XP or Vista
  • 1200MHz CPU
  • 512 MbRAM
  • GeForce 4 or similar (SM 1.1)
  • 1GB hard disk space
  • DirectX 9.0c
  • Sound card

ReeGed and Mr.X are easily the best editors.

ReeGed because he seems to make the most good posts. Very high quantity with good releases.

Mr.X because he posts a lot of unusual and interesting releases and seems like he can have a laugh.

Great! I liked Sins of a Solar Empire, but it’s scale, even with the ability to pause, made things a little to hectic. Great that there is a turn based game out which looks similar. Still has to go a long way to match Galactic Civilizations but would like a cut down version.

” Mass Effect Ripoff” i’d love to see them try with a 500 mb game, Mass effect is definitely the best science fiction game ever made. But it did remind me of Sins of a Solar empire which was pretty good, though game-play took very long.

lol you guys are dumb if you think this is a straight ripoff of Sins. The people who make this game made games like Europa Universalis series. As far as I have read, this game is like EU is space. The EU model was around before stardock(Sins company) was even formed. Not a ripoff at all.

just goes to show you the knowledge and age of these copycat ppl, everyone like to repeat what someone else says like its some bible lol cept i love it when a post gets snuffed liked this with truth instead of pointless backslapping and ass kissing all the time. TELL IT LIKE IT IS!!! is my motto. also the poster who said this is not what rts gamers are use to lol , well they certianly are not gonna target the fps crows with this one and turnbased is all but non exsistant so they picked the closest genre to match there product up with.

Now this has ZERO to do with if this is a good game or not, to tell you the truth of the matter is I played the demo a few days ago, and im a TBS type of guy except i hated the demo lol. now that the full game is upon us im willing to give it another go and see if its worth my time and purchase.

    March 15th, 2008 | 20:48

You don’t need to have 6Gb to make a good game. Just look at Sins of a Solar Empire for example and all the games from the past which fit on ONE CD. Sometimes two. Most of the extra Gb is just useless crap voice acting or textures anyway.

  46. WeeRuz
    March 16th, 2008 | 02:25

What’s all this talk about rip-off from Sins??.. First of all, If I remember correctly Sins is a RTS. Second this game is closer to Galactic Civ 2 and Sword of the Stars. If this game is rip-off from Sins we just can say it’s the same game as Sword of the stars and GalCivII. The only thing common I see with Sins is planets and spaceships…

  47. WeeRuz
    March 16th, 2008 | 02:30

@ 44. I understand that some copy protections take alot of space too.
Some guys ripped a dvd totally free from protection took the thing down to 1gb from 4gb. Around there. A very old article dont remember so much. Think it was from RlsLog. ReeGed, Mr. X, Martin, anyone, you remember it?

  48. b00n
    March 16th, 2008 | 05:27

How does this compare to Sins of a Solar Empire? What are the main differences?

Please do not respond if you have not played both games or if you are a fanboy of either. Objective responses welcome. Especially if you understand what Objective means.

  49. b00n
    March 16th, 2008 | 05:30

@49 Actually yes I remember now. I think the game was Trackmania Unlimited. That’s even more lame to use a full DVD just for copy protection than useless huge textures and voice acting and other useless extras!

  50. WeeRuz
    March 16th, 2008 | 06:02

@50 Not sure I understand your question fully. But I think I can give some feedback as I played both.
Biggest differance is that Sins are RTS this is TBS.
In sins you build starbases and ships as in a rts game like C&C or whatever.
In Lost Empire you colonize planets (similarity #1: You colonize in Sins too) and build an intergalactic empire.
One more big differance are that TBS like Lost Empire are made for long-term playing. You can play the same session several weeks (saving ofc) as the playfield is a galaxy with up to 6000 systems/stars. With 6 different major races and several minor.
In sins you focus on fighting first hand with a couple other races and have to focus on building much, fast and trying to research up your ships.
In Lost E you research to, but here you can focus on i.e Laser based weapons and become brutally good with laser. But then you might come across an enemy that has researched suberb protection against laser, and whole your plan for galactic domination goes down the toilet.

I myself is an allround player and I like both games much.

Fast paced build and conquer. – Sins

Slow but much thinking and strategelly researching/expanding/building. – Lost Empire

So can someone who’s good with this give me some tips? I’m normally a huge fan of 4X games (even tried to get some fun out of MOO3) and fairly good with them, but in the demo I was getting my arse kicked on easy and could never even come close to expanding at the same rate as the PC.

@56 Yeah my point exactly. What I said at 48. All those guys talkng about crappy graphics and that Sins is better than this dosent know what they’re talking about.

You can’t compare a TBS to a RTS!

It’s like comparing a FPS to a RPG.

    March 17th, 2008 | 11:14

Well, lets try for a little positive reviewing:

The scale of the game is immense. There are hundreds and hundreds in the largest galaxy. At one point, I had colonised a 120 worlds, and that was about 10-15% of the whole map.

Technology doesn’t run out, like in most games. You can always keep improving your tech, so it’s possible to hang on to that tech advantage, even in late-game. You can design your own ships with whatever components you want, from lasers and huge ion beams, to orbital bombardment and drop troops.

did I mention how HUGE the maps are?

  61. Someone
    March 17th, 2008 | 11:37

@58 The demo is somewhat different from the full game I noticed, in it I got my ass kicked on easy too but in full game it seems to work bit better. Its somewhat unstable for now but I am hoping their upcoming patch will fix that
Otherwise its quite decent game, will fill my time till AoC and Mass Effect :)

every time i run this, i get weird errors, that i assume are to do with the crack, and was wondering if anyone else was getting this. i start the game and the spiral galaxy in the background is really jerky and the music clips, i then start the game and it runs smoothish for about 1 minute, then it starts to jerk and it takes me more and more mouse clicks to get anything done, until it is neigh on unplayable. my specs are fine for it, am on vista pro on an X800 with latest drivers 3.0Ghz P4 and 1Gb ram and i have no problems with any other game, any help would be appreciated

poor game, has good genes, like huge maps, huge tech tree, you can build your weapons. Maybe need some love for carebears. this game with more money could have be DA BOMB, withouth that money, is a rare gem, that is not much fun for normal people. maybe a classic for some.

I hate the research system in this game. There are only 2 meters for it, current research and total research. There technically are no research points, so it is all scaled together. I guess I just suck at it, but it is very difficult to manage compared to an AI that apparently has it down pat even on easy. Not to mention that the AI goes nuts. After a couple turns the Horde usually has 150 fleet power already. I thin the random events are cool, but with everything else I find wrong with it, I just cant find this game to be playable. Seems sort of typical of Paradox lately, to release a half-finished game. I guess that is what happens when you only employ 1 developer.

    - this game is like Masters of Orion (alot)

    – for a turn based game i find it really slow and dull. if it had battles like SW:Rebellion it would give it a bit of life, but battles are all automatic with a option to watch it like a video.

    – there is alot of micro-management (like Masters of Orion 3), when it comes to trying to find the right fleet enhancements to have a decent craft; ya really have to sit there and spend alot of time reading information about what does what for each situation.

    – there isn’t anything special about this game. doing your taxes is more fun.

we don’t think it is reasonable to spend hundreds thousands dollars to buy a decorating watch. you can use those money to invest in other industry which will return you good profit.
here you just need to spend 100-200 dollars to buy a replica rolex watches.
Rolex Masterpiece replica watches are made by the rating 1:1 according to the original watches, and you can’t distinguish the original and the fake watches when you look at the surface of the watches.
