Lost And Found 2006 LiMiTED XviD-NQR

I noticed this just as i was going to bed so I thought i might as well post it. The first thing I have to say about this movie is it is a Australian film and since I’ve been living in Australia a while now i can tell you Australian films suck even the Aussies will tell you they suck. Other then that the quaility of this release is fine with good video quality and audio quality. If you haven’t seen a Australian film before get this release so you can find out for yourself that Australian Films suck. Note: This view has been based on past experience of living in Australia and hearing Australian views. If you have another view please post it.

In the Australian film Lost And Found, McKenzie Morgan, is a successful architect in a happy relationship with his partner, Hannah. He’s got it all, until he starts seeing visions of himself – an altogether darker other self. His boss, Ebenezer, suggests that he sees a psychiatrist, Frankie J. Holden. The solution seems to be rooted in his troubled childhood.

I think that you’ll find that there are quite a few Aussie films that are very good, seems a bit harsh to generalise that a film is crap based on its nationality, probably just safer to say that the movie either sux or doesnt regardless of where its from, I’m sure there are a good few crap movies from the US / UK / Europe etc.
Plus remember, views on a movies are on a “per viewer” basis, i.e you mightthink a movie is the bigest heap of crap since the T-Rex took a dump, whereas ya mate next door might think it deserves 6 Academy Awards?!?

    Go Figure…..

Adding my support to Blake - Australian films do suck. It is a shame, since there is potential there… but it is true… terrible, terrible films. :| Fair play for having the cajones to say it! :P

(Fair enough… I count 3 or 4 truly good Australian movies listed. They are the exceptions to the rule. For a more scientific approach… investigate how many Australian films are in IMDB’s top 100, or even top 250.)

    The Castle
    Clubland
    Hercules Returns (!!!)
    2:37
    Jindabyne
    Chopper
    The Hard Word

Yeah, Australian movies are terrrrible. =P
I think that Hollywood movies are terrible but they’re just not my style. Seppos and explosions both seem pointless to me.

I think that the main reason people think Australian movies are crap is because they don’t see a lot and when they do see one, they (usually Americans) remember it because of the “British”/”Ahhhsie” accents and pre-judge the country’s out-put from there.

What about Babe and The Piano. Can’t be that bad, they where both nominated for Academy awards for best picture. Not to mention that a lot of other Academy awards have gone to Aussies as well. Dean Semler, Peter Weir, Russel Crowe, Bruce Beresford etc. And what about the cheap looking films that lack the production values of even most B grade US movies. Are you talking about the films like The Matrix Trilogy or MI2 which where all filmed in Australia by Australian film companies just to name a few.

Just because the septic tanks don’t understand the Aussie lingo or because the movie hasn’t cost $100,000,000 to make doesn’t make it a bad movie. There are a lot of crap movies that cost millions to make that are a lot worse than most Aussie films (Toys, Vanilla Sky, Battlefield Earth just to name a few.

You’re right mate, Aussie films do suck. And the reason why is simple. Too much Government subsides. Rather than needing to make a product that people will pay money to see, ‘artists’ are subsidized, and so are free to indulge in mental wank fest’s.

I actually don’t mind certain Australian films…for instance their horrors are sometimes cheesy but they always have a scare or two in them and are enjoyable to watch. My most favorite Australian horror that I’ve seen recently would be Blacksheep. It was part comedy and part horror but all around a pretty good film!

  39. Killua
    December 14th, 2007 | 22:33

    @ 38
Blacksheep is also a New Zealand film.

    @ 37
I agree that most New Zealand films suck, however they do have a far better track record than Australia, for example:

    The Piano
    Heavenly Creatures
    Once Were Warriors
    Whale Rider
    King Kong
    The Lord of the Rings
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
    Blacksheep

On that side of the world the Aussie movies suck donkeys balls the best movies on that side are coming out of New Zealand. Most of the big name so called Australian actors were actually born in other countries

    Nicole Kidman (Hawaii, US)
    Russell Crowe (New Zealand)
    Naomi Watts (England)
    Mel Gibson (US)

So not only do there movies suck but they claim Actors born in other countries as there own too LMBO! I am sure the New Zealanders wouldnt want Russell Crowe back anyway hahahaha

    @ 39

King Kong is not really New Zealand movie? It was made in New Zealand but not wholly financed by New Zealand production companies. That’s like calling The Matrix trilogy and Star Wars prequels Australian movies because they were made in Sydney and had one or two small Australia companies working on it (effects etc.)It is still very much a US films.

Also, The Piano was a joint New Zealand, USA, Australian produced and financed film.

@ everyone else who is hating…

Fair do, your opinion, but it seems it is based on watching some obviously pretty terrible Australian movies. I don’t judge the American Film Industry on ‘Battlefield Earth’ or ‘Gigli’ now do I….

Here is a list, across broad genres, of decent Australia films people should check out if they want to see some well made or very unique Australia cinema. They aren’t blockbusters or built on huge budgets, but why do we want that in Australia when we already have that coming out of other countries?

    The Proposition
    Romper Stomper
    Gallipoli
    2:37
    Moulin Rouge!
    Noise
    The Castle
    Breaker Morant
    Looking For Alibrandi
    Two Hands
    Proof
    Idiot Box
    Wolf Creek
    Rabbit Proof Fence
    Priscilla: Queen of the Desert
    The Year my Voice Broke
    Romulus, My Father
    The Club
    Picnic at Hanging Rock
    The Dish
    Bad Boy Bubby
    Dead Calm
    Shine
    Australian Rules
    Lantana
    Babe
    The Bank
    The Sum of Us
    The Interview
    Jindabyne

Australian movies have a unique style, which I’m all for. We’ll leave the constant $500m “blockbusters” to other countries. I’d much rather have small, independent, Australian based movies that really show how unique our country is.

NB: For the list above, you possibly MAY not find Australian comedies funny if you don’t understand/don’t get Australia humour. And sorry for such a big list, but I figure if you want to criticize, maybe watch a few more of these and see how you go! :)

  49. gar
    December 14th, 2007 | 23:56

I’m not an Aussie. I don’t live in Australia. In fact I’ve never been to Australia. Further, I haven’t seen all the Australian movies. However, I have seen several movies made in Australia and I have been impressed. A lot of them have been very good. And like movies from any other country, a few have been really exceptional.

I think that condemning all films from any region shows a certain ignorance and intolerance that should not be allowed on a world-wide internet site.

And, Blake, maybe you should consider widening your circle of friends. Apparently those you are hanging with in Australia are just a bit “narrow.”

@46 Rabbit Proof Fence was written by a New Zealander and most of those other films you list suck! Romper Stomper starred Russell Crowe a New Zealand off cut!

Of course Aussies make crap movies because they are busy drinking themselves silly behind the camera…..just joking!

There neighbours the New Zealanders are the ones to keep and eye on they have alot more projects coming out soon with the help of those FX wizards WETA WORKSHOP / WETA DIGITAL (on of the most recent were the special effects in 30 Days of Night) and was filmed totally in New Zealand need I say MORE!

I think for years the Aussies have been overshadowing the efforts of there next door neighbours and what New Zealand has been producing and now we are starting to see what the New Zealanders have to bring to the rest of the world in Entertainment.

    @ eitanois!
And the New Zealand woman are beautiful and not as shallow as there Aussie felines, those polynesian woman are beautiful and the Hula they do with there hips dont get me started!

I think Australia has exported some wonderful films over the years. My personal all time favourite comedy is “The Castle”, and I got an enormous kick out of the very clever comedy “Gettin’ Square” .

I cannot rem if “Breaker Morant” was an Aussie production or just a Hollywood movie with an Aussie theme but it too was an excellent film.

Aussie TV also produces some great episodic shows. For such a small country they do a great job.

    IMHO anyway.

    Cheers Mate!

Un-original thoughts - not all Aust movies are crap and tastes vary.
30 yrs ago Aust films and wine were considered crap - what the world saw WAS crap. Now the best Aust wines are considered world class - as are the movies.
Aust still makes great lower-budget movies; Wolf Creek is a recent ex and there are many others; and it has made some really great un conventional movies (like Mad Max).
Tastes vary - see above for comments on The Proposition and Wolf Creek.
Thanks 46, you saved me from listing some of the best Aust films (not that I like all your choices - but I know people who raved about them). I hate Titanic and Moulin Rouge, and Gone With The Wind, three of the all-time box office successes, and consider ‘Born on the 4th of July’ the only Tom Cruise film worth watching. I have never survived more than about 15 mins of Vanilla Sky or Minority Report - does this make them crap movies, the $$$ paid by patrons say no.
same is true of Aust films. I think Priscilla is a truly bizarre masterpiece and Kenny is sublime; both are very Australian, Kenny is a truly Australian character - and probably seems weird to other than Australians, who meet ‘Kenny’s every day.
@ Blake - if you think Australian movies are so crap why not leave reviewing them to someone who can take a less subjective view? I value the comments made on this site by the posters (and the bloggers (some)), and your (admitted) bias doesn’t help me in deciding whether to download a movie (or whatever). I have downloaded stuff with 5-star reviews - and thought Ho Hum after watching it - ’such is life’ (reference to Australia’s greatest hero - inevitably for Aust he was a bushranger - an outlaw/ highwayman); but at least I read the review.

We also have some of the best directors, artists, actors and production staff. Do you need to be reminded of some Aussie movies??? Breaker Morant, Dogs In Space, Muriel’s Wedding, Priscilla - Queen Of The Desert, Mullet, Kokoda, Mad Max, Ned Kelly, and I could go on ad infinitum but I bore you with what you already think are boring movies. (Wolf Creek, Rogue, Picnic At Hanging Rock, Gallipoli, Puberty Blues, Bra Boys……………..) How about you stick to giving us plot lines and audio and video quality and keep YOUR OWN OPINIONS TO YOURSELF!!! moron……………….

Australian movies do not suck. I mean a lot of them do, but a lot more American mvies suck.

Have you heard of Mad Max? Road Warrior? Babe? They are amazing and all Aussie films. Also, Flirting and Year My Voice Broke are amazing. Lantana. RoadGames. Long Weekend. Fortress (1986). Crocodile Dundee. Storm Warning. Proof. Wake in Fright. SAW (Yes, it’s written/directed by Aussies, and was originlly going to be made here).

I could go all day. Aussie movies are awesome.
