WE COMMITTED ATROCITIES IN VIETNAM? THE U.S.? OMFG YOU ARE AN IDIOT. THE ONLY ATROCITIES THERE WERE COMMITTED AGAINST U.S. SOLDIERS. I SPENT 2 TOURS IN IRAQ IN 91-92. UNTIL YOU HAVE ACTUALLY BEEN IN A CONFLICT DON'T SPOUT A BUNCH OF
BULLSH!T. MAYBE WE SHOULD HAVE JUST LET SADDAM DO HIS BIDDING?

EVERY NATO COUNTRY CRIES FOR HELP AND THE U.S. COMES RUNNING. JUST LOOK AT THE STATISTICS OF WHAT COUNTRIES ACTUALLY STEP UP TO THE PLATE WITH THE MANPOWER WHEN ANOTHER COUNTRY NEEDS HELP. I AGREE, THE U.S. SHOULD STAY OUT OF IT ALL. CLOSE OUR BORDERS AND SCREW EVERYONE ELSE.

"Last thing I will say is that I fully agree with the bombing of nuclear power plants that are a threat to the world and so we should start with Israel first."

So now we see you for what you really are, simply a radical muslim apologist. I knew you had an agenda in you somewhere, and it didn't take that long to get it out of you.

Played like a fiddle.

Your denial of the bombing and destruction of roads, bridges, hospitals, power plants, water treatment plants, railways, schools and other vital infrastructure means one of two things, either you are military and enjoying this senseless destruction or you are just copying Neo-Con (Nazi) propaganda because it is too difficult to think for yourself and thus you have brought this discussion to an end. You are obviously ignorant of the truth and I am not interested in mindless Neo-Con propaganda. Continue living in that sheltered world of yours.

Unfortunately, the US is one of the few countries that follows that wish list of war etiquette.

Enemies of the US, however, do not:

"Civilians must not be attacked."

-Except civilians in New York City skyscrapers, right?

"Civilian objects (houses, hospitals, schools, places of worship, cultural or historic monuments, etc.) must not be attacked."

-I'm sorry USA, but skyscrapers arent civilian objects.

"Using civilians to shield military targets is prohibited."

Uh oh...Vietnam - guilty. Iraq - guilty. North Korea - guilty.

"It is prohibited for combatants to pose as civilians."

-Except when you're planting an IED along a road to blow up a US convoy, right?

"Starvation of civilians as a method of combat is prohibited."

-What if the ruling dictator just gasses them to death instead?

"It is prohibited to attack dams, dykes or nuclear power plants if such an attack may cause severe losses among the civilian population."

-Finally, one we agree on. We can attack a nuclear power plant that is being used to enrich uranium for weapons as long as it doesnt cause severe population losses.

Thank you for posting what you are taught at school regarding Tibet. We won't mention all the temples that have been destroyed over the past few decades in both China and Tibet.

The people in Xinjiang are Chinese and it was consolidated by the forced relocation of millions of Hans. I never said that they were being killed because they're Muslims I just pointed out to people who didn't know that the people of Xinjiang are of Muslim decent.

Because I don't really understand what you're talking about with regards to the Muslims I won't comment on it any further other than to say i know the children are relocated to schools around China because there 160 in my school alone whose re-education is being paid for by the government but are kept segregated from the rest of the school (ie. they don't have the same teachers, dining hall or living quarters). They are here to be made Chinese whether they like it or not.

"the first mongolian invasion, china was under the critical mass for a nation
i.e. to be wipe out completely-the monks replace the dead soldiers and
organize the fight –a nation saved twice by his priest in history"

If it was the monks who came to the rescue why are there tombs of Persian kings in China? Because the Chinese didn't have the capability to defend themselves they hired the Persians (Middle Easterners in general) to help fight the invaders. Their descendants can still be found living throughout China today.

"this year relics of buddha was sent back to india,
for good gesture…ask your students"

They weren't sent back they were sent away because once all traces of Buddhism have been erased China can claim Buddhism doesn't exist in China and that the Dalia Lama does not belong here. It is simply another attempt at crushing the one group of people the Chinese have been unable to convince that they are Chinese, the Tibetans. After all my students don't know what Buddhism is because they are not taught that at school. They don't even know what Confucianism is. They don't know which religion they observe because they are prohibited from being either. As far as they are concerned they have no religion except for the one or two Christians among them.

"wish people can make up their mind-they are red-commies or capitalism
now"

Since when is having imported cars (Merc's, BMW's, Porche's, Ferrari's and Lamborghini's), 2 houses and millions communist? Those that aren't in pursuit of this kind of wealth are seen as lazy because they have no ambition.
I revel in my wickedness.

my first comment line @21 was to answer the comments @1 line by line

the rest of my comments were in relation with either this article/report or
about reporter without borders--to keep in line with the thread

what i see above is more a dogfight out of context, and payback comments.

@36 ishtar- in comment 21 i mention
/not the first time the dalai lama is replace because of improper behavior/

see criticism paragraph in the link below, and after reading money support from the cia
just try to imagine the same situation about the kgb providing support
to the i.r.a--britain would have gone hayway..

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tenzin_Gyatso%2C_14th_Dalai_Lama

tibet was a province in china empire that when the british control the
dinasty in power in 1876 they set free,,,

(like given back california to spain)
the same way the british cut the present irak-iran borders or
pakistan-india borders or austria the serbia yougouslavia borders

just to weaken everyone...no need to go further

--then you are talking about muslim genocide in china, they are tukkistan people

been around since the beginning attaking the caravane and are still around
looks like the chinese are doing a poor job in their genocide,by the way
russians too have fun with their counterpart.

ask your han students,if you want more precision, turkisman helpthe invasion to eliminate
the buddhist from india and set hallah instead, the han protected and secure
buddhist---quite ironic history is strange indeed,,this year relics of buddha was sent back to india,
for good gesture...ask your students

the first mongolian invasion, china was under the critical mass for a nation
i.e. to be wipe out completely-the monks replace the dead soldiers and
organize the fight --a nation saved twice by his priest in history ,unique
example of faith in practice-guess that makes them credible when
objecting rome to send a cardinal
so they are egocentric money loving, according to you, well ok,maybe
free world, your opinion, surprise you can say that and not being arrested
you are surrender by means red-commies
wish people can make up their mind-they are red-commies or capitalism
now

@42 lee, surprise to see you here

anything that is japanese in ww2 is difficult to be 100% sure because they got
rid of the records on purposes, and silence was the rule..
it is strongly believe now, that the two bombs did not influence the way the allied
think, but rather the russian invasion on the west coast..at that time they were
discussing with the russian for an armistice with the usa-
if you ever heard about the agreement btwn russian/nippon we dont attack
now dont attack us latter/when the germans were at the door of moscow.

news and politicians make things worse-the visit of the shrine and text books
acceptance of ww2,would stop all this nonsense, people are over with this
themselves, after the war,a lot of japanese soldiers stay in china and fought
alongside both side,to mend, like they say, they never came back to their
loved ones..this earns respect,
people should be respected ,not gratuitely demonized....

Its not my rule of survival of the fittest. Its a fact of life. The native Americans in the US were not able to win the battles that the European settlers waged against them because they were not advanced enough to develop equivalent weaponry. That is not an attrocity, it happens all around the world.

And stop trying to make the communists in Vietnam look like victims when they brought war upon themselves. They should not have hidden soldiers and weapons in villages if they did not want those villages to be bombed and destroyed.

If Japan was "in discussion to surrender" as you somehow think, why did they not surrender after the first bomb was dropped?? Because they were not planning to surrender as the Japanese belief system at the time was that surrendering soldiers were disgraceful. And if you'd like to talk about real slaughters during WW2, talk about the Bataan death march. And the Japanese citizens were all involved in building, supplying and operating the factories for the Japanese military, same as in the US. They were not innocent.

Great article. We can all go around saying that no country is blameless but it doesn't change the facts. We all need more awareness about the atrocities performed around the world regardless of who performs them. You know the old saying: "Two wrongs don't make a right". More articles like this please rlslog.

By the way, when a soldier joins the army and his country go to war he knows that he might be asked to lay down his life for his country, that's his job. But the men, women and children in Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Vietnam and the Native American tribes had no choice. They were not in the army, it was not their job, they were innocent civilians. 100's of 1000's even millions of them.
The Jews, the Gypsies and the handicapped weren't able to defend themselves either. So according to your survival of the fittest rule only those who can defend themselves survive. Thank you very much for justifying the Holocaust.

"none of these were atrocities. the atomic bombs used on those two cities were lifesavers for millions of American soldiers who did not have to die during an invasion of Japan."

The US and Japan were in discussions about Japans surrender at the time and thus you're right it wasn't an atrocity it was simply a test. After all we can't try out our nuclear bombs by dropping them on countries that have surrendered now can we?

"the war in vietnam ulitimately ended in the killing of millions by the same communists running china."

I wonder where the dead patches in the Vietnamese forests come from. Could it be all the Agent Orange napalm and other biological and chemical agents the US dropped on the country? Obviously nobody died from these. What about all the villages that were wiped out? You're right, they are none existant... now.

"and the native americans indians in the US simply were not advanced enough to understand they should have protected their land."

They couldn't protect their land so men, women and children were slaughtered. Custer wasn't the racist, hateful, Indian hater that everyone claims he was. He was an angel and the active extermination carried out by him even though he was ordered to stop after a while is a fabrication.

The dead can't claim anything, it is left to us who come after them to remember the truth about what happened.

Sir, I know American and world history unlike you. So who's the moron now?

you sir, are a moron.

"most of you seem to have conveniently forgotten your own attrocities in history (Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Vietnam and the Native American Indians in your own back yard to name but a few)"

China just happens to be the current country that has plentiful and cheap labor. Just like Japan was in the 50s and 60s and Korea after that.

If the Chinese people ever dismantle their quasi-communist government and are able to work for maket wages, their huge manufacturing capacity will quickly disappear.

As the people increase their standard of living by demanding more money, manufacturing is no longer cost effective there, and manufacturers will move on to the next country with cheap labor.
