Live Earth Mega Post Music Artist Performances-VariousGroups

Well just in case you did not know there was recently a large wold-wide concert held in a number of cities to raise awareness for current global issues. It is named the largest events in global history – even bigger than live AIDS. If it were so big, I was only alerted to it today listening to the news radio on my travels today, maybe others feel the same way, maybe not. All the downloads would amount to a total of 1.5GB (approximately) worth of live music performances. The ‘must have’ downloads are the live performances by Wolfmother and Metallica. The well-meaning Al-Gore indicated that the concerts would mark ‘the beginning of a three-year campaign worldwide to deliver information about how we solve the climate crisis’ and that ‘the prospects for every future generation depend on us understanding, hearing and acting upon this information. I have purposely excluded James Blunt – I’m confident that a large majority of users of this site would agree with me. Looks like TV-scene group 2HD is “Looking for HDT & DSR cappers – apply within @ dosequis@cryptomail.org” so if you have the proper tv ripping equipment and would like to be part of the scene, here’s your chance :)

liveearth.org, Wikipedia

Live Earthwas a series of worldwide concerts held on July 7, 2007 (07/07/07) intended to raise awareness about anthropogenic climate change and encourage people to live more environmentally friendly lifestyles. The concerts aimed to bring together more than 150 of some of the world’s most popular music acts and an estimated worldwide audience of 2 billion people, making it one of the largest global events in history. The actual audience numbers appear to have been somewhat smaller, with serious disappointments in Brazil, the UK, South Africa, Germany, and in Washington D.C., where attendance ran into the low hundreds. Istanbul’s concert was cancelled, while the main three-hour American TV broadcast on NBC averaged a meager 2.7 million viewers, ranking as the least-watched U.S. program on Saturday night and falling below NBC’s summer prime-time Saturday average.

notes: CTV made a real mess of the airing of Live Earth on 7/7/07. Instead of airingcomplete sets for EVERY artist, they often cut back and forth between acts. Playing part of a set, then coming back to it later. While the other CTV owned stations aired shows in a more straightforward manner but without the added resolution of HDTV. Although they should be applauded for airing 26-28 hours of the show (the most of any North American broadcaster) this has made an already difficult task of releasing the show that much more difficult. Here’s how the schedule broke down on CTV http://shows.ctv.ca/liveearth/images/LESched.gif We’ll do our best to release as much as possible and note when things are not a complete set. But it might take sometime given the sheer amount of show to skim through and the crazy nature of the broadcast. Once again we’ve chosen to keep the original AC3 audio. So for now enjoy Wolfmother’s complete set at the Sydney Live Earth Show.

A great event, and thanks to all artists for solving a problem that so many politicians could not. Finally with this global warming issue solved now, we can start working on getting the world to live in peace.

there were like 5 or 6 events across the world kanye west was in america funny how they put snoop dog in hamburg lol! but they did power the events using some energy saving poop i dunno what i found it funny when they interviewed fergie saying she believes in energy saving when she was sitting in the back of her hatchback, i would say foo fighters and a couple other bands were the best and this live earth concert actually wasnt that bad to be honest… if neone watched this did they get the impression that modonna couldnt oplay the guitar at the end when she was trying to do the solo with her back faced to the crowd..
