The original was a pun on 'Great Britain' and picked up on the strangeness of the UK psyche. Two problems with having a US version: 1. Some of the '70's Oz films ('Bazza McKenzie'for one) were very cringe-worthy but were loved by the average Aussie - and "Kenny" could, I think, only be an Australian movie.
