Wasn’t funny in the UK, ‘probably’ isn’t gonna be any funnier in the US. Once you have seen one episode, which I admit should make most people laugh a fair bit, every episode there after is almost EXACTLY the same, gets tired, trying and extremely repetitive immediately.

Fair play to David for swimming the channel though!

One episode is enough, basically they recycle the gags in every episode in different scenarios. It gets old real quick!

yeah, that’s sort of the problem with sketch shows.

real, inventive comedy died with the cancellation of arrested development.

this is going to tank in the US..why?

Because you bloody americans never just show a show, you have to “americanise” it.

This will do as well as our Kath & Kim (Im an Aussie) will do there, because, guess what, you guys felt you needed to rewrite that too.

Can you please learn to not touch things, and that youre not the centre of the universe……

one can blame america for a tonne of stuff but blaming them for not watching a turd of a show, even if that turd is polished and planted with a miniature american flag, is not one of them.

OMFG!! im shocked by coments, this show has been a smash for 4 years in uk, its funny as hell. its ment to shock ppl and not conform to being “P C” i would say its the funniest this in USA right now, but look what your doing to your economy!!! LOL.

I never thought the original was very funny but I laughed a couple times when I watched the first episode. I think that’s a first for “remade” shows. The new one seems more crude, though. It seems many people thought it got old quick, but someone must’ve been watching. It was on for a long time and, I thought, was pretty successful.

As for the burning need to “americanize” things. I think it has more to do with money and issues over rights than it does some pathological desire to infuse things with our own culture (or lack thereof).

I thought the first episode was hilarious. Season 3 was a bit of a let down in the UK, but they seem to be back. I couldn’t believe the 2 american jocks in the changing room, i was howling like a loon, and Marjorie Dawes was excellent. I suppose a lot of the Brits here are whining coz they’re bored of seeing the same jokes and characters, but that should have nothing to do with how the Americans perceive it.

This show may or may not be funny, I couldn’t say because it was unwatchable for me. I was able to watch about 3 minutes of the last episode of this… after that, the laugh track was making me feel like someone was beating me about the head with a blunt object. I don’t think I’ve heard a worse laugh track since the 80’s… what a way to insult the show’s creators and it’s audience…

I’ve seen people mention the canned laughter thing but i can’t say i noticed it at all. but now i’m gonna be listening out for that more than the sketches themselves when i watch this episode soon, so thanks for that.

Obviously this shows comedy is much too witty, dry and far above the average Americans head, but thats how it’s always been with British comedy. Americans are just stupid, they are going to have to learn to deal with that.

No wonder most of them suck compared with the originals.. They get Yank all over em.

Do us a favour America, stick to making shows about cheerleaders with super powers and leave good shows you don’t understand alone.

The laugh track is annoying, but it’s actually the audience reaction to watching some of the sketches performed live in front of them. The live parts were directed by David Schwimmer (Friends) and that laughter is actually real…believe it or not.

How the F*** can you have “Little Britain USA” it’s a contradiction in terms. The original was a pun on ‘Great Britain’ and picked up on the strangeness of the UK psyche. Two problems with having a US version:
    1. No-one would stand for “Little USA” and 2.we all know that Americans are very stright god fearing people and so they don’t have the weird behaviours of their UK ancestors. [ignoring the KKK and sex-obsessed tele-evangelists and bear hunting hockey-mum VP candidates and Moses (who has finally had his gun taken out of his dead hand and......]
Actually there is the basis for a very good programme there but (unlike the Brits) most Americans have a problem laughing at themselves – Brits (and Australians) realise that they do have some features that others find ‘unusual’ and play on them. Some of the ’70’s Oz films (’Bazza McKenzie’for one) were very cringe-worthy but were loved by the average Aussie – and “Kenny” could, I think, only be an Australian movie.

@15 rrpostal “lack off” and he/she frequents rlslog, I wonder what you download? :)

Maybe Im being too insular and ignorant like every American literature author, but I think you(and western Europe) mean you resent the dominance and influence of American culture in everything you do, everywhere you go, everything you buy, everything you wear, everything you listen to, every soft/sports/energy drink you consume, why you cant constrain yourself from following American politics closer than your countries own(mad @ lack of reciprocation or angry and bitter that is not necessary),forgot we raised from the dead like jebus what ancient Greece invented and died with Rome to ultimately create the Constitutional Democracy, etc…etc…etc…should I start ranting about American inventions and innovations on tech, medicine, music…nah. You can dislike, hate,or whatever. but “lack” is ridiculous.

@ 31 couldntcareless – looks like you care juuuust a lil bit, lil bit? no.
Another American cultural export thats unique and utterly American at its core is to take something “great,” like opera, and to play with it – to treat classical-’ism’ to an affectionate (and humorous) tweaking with the knowing wink that we are being ridiculous and extraneous and a little naughty. It is quite an American thing, to take an Ayn Randian sort of question and ponder it under the persona of a pretty buoyant (to a point) Buggs Bunny/Daffy Duck to Simpsons and now South Park, taking it to extreme conclusions one might never reach without – ahem – some sort of medical/herbal assistance.a culture that could laugh at itself, even as it took on heavy responsibilities. From the earliest revolutionaries – from Ben Franklin on – we’ve been able to look at the world and ourselves and dream big but with a wink to keep egos in check. Thus, the man who wrote: “Our new Constitution is now established, and has an appearance that promises permanency; but in the world nothing can be said to be certain except death and taxes,” was also the man who wrote: “Beer is living proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy,” without fear of losing his face.
You do know W Europe looks down on Australians too rite?

seems like they dumbed it down even more for this us version or was it always that predictable.
i never did get why there was so much fuss over this show. The characters are great but thats about it ones you have seen them you have seen them.
league of gentlemen is much better imo.
