Hey – it would appear that Rapidshare may be on its way out -
I was reading all the above postings while searching the net and found this article –

The music industry in Germany has secured a legal victory over the hugely popular file-hosting service, Rapidshare. According to the rights holders, Rapidshare is going to have to stop its users from downloading infringing music tracks from its servers, or face the prospect of being shut down.

BE aware of things liek this!!!

Dont use limewire its full of spyware and crap even know they say its not. i uses Frostwire its the same just 100% free and 100% spyware free and works just as well as limewire did. http://www.frostwire.com to get

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t a “torrent” a file, and LimeWire can download a “torrent” file?

I use LimeWire 4.16 Pro (which I got off of this site…or rather a link off of this site) for downloading “torrents”.

Am I going to get “caught”, downloading “torrents” using LimeWire?

What software/program does everyone else use to download their “torrents”?

I used limewire years ago, then started using torrents. Just recently I started using limewire again, and my downloads are much faster, even for movies. Usually around 325Kbs. Hardly ever get that with BitComet. And you can now download torrents with limewire. Just make sure you bitzi it first or compare your file with a file in here first. Everything will be ok. Then scan it with Nod32.

I use Limewire on every computer I hook up, no problems anywhere. If you’re gonna blindly bash something at least offer up better alternatives with examples, if not whatever continue bashing I personally find it funny as ish.

Programs such as Kazaa/Limewire or anything that runs off those networks offers no security, the best thing you can do when using programs like these is use Peerguardian which you should use anyways but it’s the only form of security you can use when using these programs.

The best way to use Peerguardian is to use the blocklists from Bluetack, You shouble enable all the blocklists except the Education ranges b/c 90% of uploaders are in a college network.

Bearshare > Limewire

Bearshare gets you more results that this. Only idiots DL viruses. Before DLing you should have a fair idea of the big the file size is. MP3s with a size of 202,155b?? Hell no.

Check Bitzi first and get an anti-virus software before opening anything.

The fact this has some sort of inbuilt Proxy would that not help protect you from RIAA?
The last I used this was years and years ago and even then it was just to try as I decided to stick with Winmx (yes this going back awhile)
Emule/Kazaa/Bearshare/Sharezea/iMesh/ I thought all of these had pretty much been killed of with the emergence of Torrents.
As for single Mp3’s I still miss the days of Scour/AudioGalaxy :/
