I really enjoyed watching this ABC-TV show. However I will say that I’m glad that it only lasted one season. I don’t think the story concept could have lasted any longer without going bad and ruining the entire series.

I agree with Darius X. You can tell when the US version jumped the shark. Towards the end, the show was running on star power alone and really the main star was Harvey Keitel. But they started giving him fewer lines and scenes. The final final ending was so contrived that it bordered on ridiculous; the second to the last show for me could have stayed as the ending even if it left you hanging.

I watched both and found the american version to be more watchable with better developed characters. Unfortunately, the american version never developed a following and you could tell when it’s budget was cut. It started out great but gradually slipped.

The british version was good but tortuous to watch, and repetitive in it’s plot line. It did seem a bit more realistic though with all of it’s cast being unattractive.

also seen the uk and us series, and i liked both very much. however i was disappointed when i saw the remade pilot, i thought the original one had an more honest feel to it. the us ending was, at least for my taste, a bit weak, but the soundtrack of the series is one of the best ive heard so far.

I have watched both, I think they both have merit and the US version has a more clear cut ending.
I liked them equally and you should watch both series, the order in which you watch them doesn’t really matter.

Life on Mars in UK was amazing, although it slipped a bit in the second season. This looked terrible, they had to reshoot most of the pilot after it was so widely hated. But Harvey Keitel…that’s almost enough to grab me.
