Leonera 2008 RERIP DVDRip XviD-WRD

WRD have just released the DVDRip of a Spanish movie.The movie was part of the 2008 Cannes film festival and was nominated for a Golden Palm award for best director Pablo Trapero. Reason for rerip: Other release was oversized. A nice 1cd rip with subs released by WRD.

After Julia is sent to the penitentiary for the murder of her lover, she gives birth to a son. Bringing up a child in prison is difficult, but Julia understands that the only thing that matters to her…( read more read more… ) is this new being that accompanies her now, that there is no life for her beyond that of her child. Her fellow inmate Marta becomes her ally; her mother Sofía, her opponent. One attempts to teach her how to be a mother to her child in the least appropriate place; the other wishes to take over rearing the child, so that he should grow up outside prison, in freedom. The duel between Julia and her mother expresses the dilemma of what is better for the child, to be brought up next to his mother in prison, or without her, but in freedom.

    Not a Spanish movie but Argentinian.
    We're supposed to be an independent nation since 1810.

    C'mon "sm" dont be a dillhole! When we say it's a Spanish movie we mean the language is Spanish, considering that everyone in here is lookin for a movie in English. Don't share your political bable, cuz we're not interested. "Independently" complain elsewhere.

    #25 –

    to get subs to work:

    rename the subtitle file(s) (.srt .sub .idx etc) EXACTLY the same as the .avi file example – wrd-leonera-rerip.avi would be wrd-leonera-rerip.srt (.idx .sub, whatever)

    then use your media player's subtitle option… works perfectly with standalone DiVX players also. Just make a folder for the movie with subtitles so i doesn't get confused by multiple subs

    by the way, where are the .srt's for this flick?

  31. m34
    May 14th, 2009 | 17:34

    @30 Usually only .sub & .idx are packed, .srt require more work…

    I respect argentina as a nation but not so much some of the people there cause they think tey're the sh** even when most of the latino comunity from other countrys knows what's really up with them. in other words… argentinians sucks (most of them anywayz)

    May 15th, 2009 | 00:57

    Snmk, i'm argentinian, and you should know there's people who think they're the sh** everywhere, not just here. there's the same mix here as in every other country, we're nothing special.

    The thing is that Argentina is not really a latin country, we are almost all descendants of europeans, mostly italians and spaniards, but also germans, polish, etc, so this causes some racial problemsa with the othar latin countries, which are really latinos, mix of indians and spanish conquerors.

    May 15th, 2009 | 02:59

    That s exactly the problem with argentinians.You think you are something different from the rest of Southamericans,"more european".Better, in other words.
    And you know what?You are not
    (I m european,and you are pretty similar to rest of southamericans)
    I want to say that there s nothing wrong about southamerican people.There s something really wrong about people claiming themselves as some kind of "elite")

  38. McClane
    May 15th, 2009 | 05:45

    I didn't say anything about being better or an elite, learn to read, it's a fact that more than a half of us are grandghildren of europeans argentina has been called the "crisol de razas" something like melting pot which may describe argentina and other countries like the united states but not any other country in america except perhaps chile and uruguay.

    It isn't about who's better, i was just stating the fact that we have different cultures and that may be the cause of the friction towars us.

    But since we are talking about better or worse, don't worry, every day we are becoming more and more like the rest of latin america, with raising poverty and ignorance and unemployment.

    @McClane,

    are you calling me a raisin? Seriously, argentinians in general have some work to do about their image. To paraphrase that old spanish saying: "Por uno(s) pagan todos".

    we are just like any other latin america country…just because many of use have european (great)* grandfather doesn't mean much.

    We are not becoming like the rest of LA, we have always been like the rest of LA.

    Still, we are the sh¡t! :)

    I'm Argentine and I am very proud to be South American. I do not understand why you think we should be better by having European ancestry. Quite the contrary. We have more problems compared to other countries in South America to be descendants of Europeans. Our problems are the result of being inherited the corruption of Italy, and boastfulness of Spain.

    LOL

    "1810" 25 May -> Not freedom, it's May revolution

    "1816" 9º July Independence Date

    Spanish -> Language… NOT -> "Spain"
    -> Argentina official language
