Lenny Kravitz – It Is Time For A Love Revolution (2007)

Tell me about being world famous! The “innocent” accountant from French bank Société Générale who almost forced the whole company to bankrupcy is now also a motive for someone who released a new album from Lenny Kravitz (check the name of the “group” which released this). It Is Time For A Love Revolution is the latest compilation of this rock icon and it features 16 brand new songs. The album won’t appear in stores until next week so don’t wait for anything and grab this right now.

Lenny Kravitz says it’s time for a revolution and he is launching a musical movement to do just that with the release of his 8th studio album on February 4th, 2008. The album, entitled It Is Time For A Love Revolution (Virgin Records), is Kravitz’s first new release in over three years; the record is a thunderous rock ‘n roll call-to-arms, featuring a universal blend of soul, funk, and jazz grooves and the undeniable anthemic lyricism that’s been his trademark from day one. “I love this record and the feel of the record,” Lenny Kravitz said of the release. “I felt like a kid playing in my bedroom, and that’s the most important thing you can tap into, that feeling of being free.”

    Why not FLAC?
Should be a lossless category in here.
This is 2008, if there’s 8G download for HD movie,
Why not 500M for audio CD?

    @8

im no expert, and not wanting to start a flame war, but i guess the % of the population that require a 500Mb download for a cd is so small. i realise that people who laugh at audiophiles are generally people who cant afford a decent amp and speakers themselves. but really more people will appreciate the difference between a HD rip of a movie and a 700mb avi, than a flac version of an album and a mp3 copy. also 99% will want to put it on their ipod, which rules out noticing any difference between flac and high bit rate mp3 anyway.

    5+9=14

Glad to hear a new album from Lenny Kravitz ! Sounds good ! :) )
Thanks for the first post with all the download links. ;)

    @ post 8 :
First, as “terry” already said… Most of people want to listen music on their mp3 player. Everybody is familiar now with mp3.
Secondly, if you encode your mp3 in a good bitrate (like 256Kbits) with a good software (such as EAC for example)… you won’t noticed a “massive” quality difference from a FLAC encoding, especially with an audio CD. :)
Thirdly, there is also the fact that most of people use unfortunatelly iTunes, WMP or Winamp for listenning their music… And these players don’t support FLAC format by default. Only a few “geeks” use the excellent foobar2000 ! ;)

Anyone else notice that “Uncharted Terrain” was also included as a bonus track on his 2005 “Baptism” album? It was released as a Japan Bonus track on “Baptism”.

    @ 9 & 10

im no big audiophile myself – although i have got a fairly posh setup at home – so i have no interest in starting a flame war either, but im siding with 8 on this one – these mp3s arent encoded at a particularly high bitrate (150-218kbps) and although its true the majority of users have no need for a FLAC version, itd be nice to have the option…

but youre quite right, aquablue63, assuming the release was ripped from a standard audio cd, theres no point at all in FLAC, which i suspect is the case, since its most likely been ripped from a promo, which may even have been a crappy cd-r burn of mp3s (increasingly, labels are sending journos lower-fidelity promos to deter piracy…)

at any rate, the quality is decent enough for previewing.

and yeah, hooray for foobar! but you know you can add flac plugin support to winamp (and presumably a good few other apps)?

cheers to martin for giving me some new tunes to listen to while i wait for the new house to download! :)
