If you liked Titan Quest and Diablo II you *might* enjoy this one. The only thing this game does better is when it comes to graphics. Voice acting/dialoges is horrible but it’s not that big of a deal if you like this genre.

These (witcher and legend - HOG) are NOT two different genre’s.
As for comparing the two:
* They are both 3D action RPG’s.
* Both lack character classes and rely on skill tree building for defining characters.
* The Witcher did it with more flair, breaking the monotony with timing systems.
* The look is similar, almost close enough to be an attempted copy although this game lacks the NWN2 aurora engine the witcher got to build on.

Yeah well I had a go at lhog and found it a pos in comparison to the witcher which had far better graphics, sound effects, plot, gameplay (most of all fighting system-the lhog fighting system looks as though it came outta a win 95 game maybe there is a sophisticated combo system but I didn’t find it because all the voice acting especially the fairies was reminiscent of the old fingernails down a black board routine.
I don’t fully comprehend the impetus behind rpg heads’ love of these step n fetchit plots (you know - just about everybody you meet has lost someone or something) , all being needy types to a fault ,they expect you to run around finding whatever it was that they didn’t care about enough to look after in the first place.
At least in the witcher your quest could be creating the correct circumstances for a game of hide the sausage or find the peach,and since there was sufficient reality in that ‘fantasy rpg’ that the women behaved pretty much as some women are wont to do, there was a limited amount of educational advantage to be gained from the game. ie getting the knock back in a game gives you the chance to refine your gameplay and try again, to practise until clams have been speared.
This is somewhat unlike RL where a knockback tends to be final.
But I digress - LHOG has nothing as original and well written as that in it. Killing goblins seems to be the main distraction. yawn

The english version of this game is buggy like hell, can’t see the minimap or the usual map, game crashes, some quests are unable to be completed and so on. I can’t wait much longer for an english patch since this is far by the best action RPG this year. Maybe Sacred II will be better, I dunno. Still, the bugs are far too many, game not playable.

I wonder why didn’t you mention that The Witcher is a game with quite a lot of dialogue and choices and consequences, while Legeng is just a simple hack’n’slash based on combat entirely.
This game have nothing similar with Witcher.

You’ll find a map named “Ageia Technologies”
Delete it. Then install the Ageia PhysX version from the game.
And it works.
To un install Ageia you need the microsoft cleanup utility google for it using this msicuu2. that was the only way to get rid of Ageia so i could reinstall it proper.

or alternately copy the physcore.dll to the game dir as nxcore.dll along with physcooking.dll as nxcooking.dll from the ageia 2.81 dir in program files.
Worked for me. You can also just delete the nxcooking.dll from the game dir, but that makes the game hang for a while on load and gives you a nasty white screen for a bit ^^.
oops I meant delete nxcore.dll not cooking ^^. The game seems like beta to me though some of the spoken speech does not match the written words and is completely wrong.

Fixed it, just had to choose a resolution in the setup window.
game is pretty lame. if you played diablo, titan quest, dungeon siege, you’ve played this one before and it was batter when you did. Hell even those damn typical witchdoctor goblins show up in the first area just like in Diablo, you know the ones that rez up the other goblins around them? Uninstalled after half hour play time.
Aside from some mediocre voice acting, this game is actually very good. Quality hack n slash rpg’s dont come along that often so enjoy it for what it is. Excellent soundtrack, great loot, gorgeous graphics and lots of mouse button mashing. Sweet.

I’m having the same problem Dvido was having. Just after the game boots up it exits and gives me the error message “DX9_InitScreen: Can’t create a DirectX 9 Device”. Unfortunately what worked for him hasn’t for me thus far. Anyone have any ideas?

I’m having the same as fenixreaver with direct x 9 and I have tried what bluSky said and i am not getting anything. game is not starting up. Can anyone help me with this problem Thanks

I’ve a problem too: when i start the game it says: “Cannot init PhysX - Please Install ageia physx system software”, the problem is that i have installed it… does it matter if the game and the ageia aren’t on the same HD?
I fixed it . For those who have the problem and can’t get single player and cant get it to work with ATI CROSSFIRE to work go to advanced options 3d then anti-aliasing then check temporal anti-aliasing and slide it to the x 8 or 16x and try to uncheck temporal anti-aliasing
Hey people…I download a game and also started to play it but I have to say that I am disappointed..I have chosen the way of magician and faith, and it’s so hard to battle more than one monster cos’ i got no area magic just 1vs1…and anyway it’s really a boring stuff…it reminds me Diablo II in every aspect…dungeons,sounds,monsters,magic,weapons,armors…everything is the same as diablo II..I wouldn’t recommend this game…
