Description:
Like Left 4 Dead, the sequel involves the aftermath of an apocalyptic pandemic. There has been an outbreak of a rabies-like pathogen that causes infected humans to behave like zombies. The four survivors have to fight their way through the hordes of infected, using safehouses along the way to rest and recover, in order to reach extraction points. Left 4 Dead 2 is set in the Southern United States, starting in Savannah, Georgia and ending in New Orleans, Louisiana. Left 4 Dead 2 introduces four new survivors, whose backstory will again be provided through dialogue. Unlike the first game where there was no significant story development, Left 4 Dead 2 will feature a story arc.
After climbing a skyscraper in Savannah to achieve rescue, the survivors find themselves abandoned by helicopters, and make their way to the local mall after hearing word of a second evacuation point there (”Dead Center”). The mall proves to be overrun, and the four use a stock car to bust out of the mall and travel towards New Orleans. Finding the highway completely blocked by wrecked vehicles, the four are forced to travel through a still-operating amusement park, and start a huge fireworks-and-lights show in order to attract the attention of a helicopter pilot (”Dark Carnival”).

@1 I’ve bought the original L4D and regret it. Its nice to play online, but i have to say that its pretty boring to play with strangers. Because none of my friends thought it was worth buying, i had to download a cracked LAN-Version to play with them.
I’m not gonna buy part 2; It might be more Content than in part 1 (and well,yeah WHERE IS THE FREE DLC VALVE PROMISED?!) but not worth 50€. And i experienced that you are pretty screwed if you forget the steamacc+email, even through you got the original game with Key…this is pretty annoying exspecially if this is one of the games you bought original!
Oh and yeah: Will this version (or the proper) be able to be played in LAN via consolecommands?

I think I remember reading it was banned in Australia so they’ll have to censor, and edit parts of it before they can release it there so it meets the OFLC guidelines…didn’t read anywhere if they are actually going to do that so they can release it in Australia, but I’m sure they will…

i HATED l4d but l4d2 makes up for everything i never liked in that one. i got it as a gift and have thoroughly enjoyed it. they made everything more OOMPHY, which they needed to do. a zombie game can’t be as serious as l4d was, and they have fixed it in l4d2.
single player is fun but if you really want to experience this game you need to go ahead and buy it.

I *think* there’s an error in the name of the group that has made this release available.
This release appears to be working for Windows 7, only the “loader” doesn’t work.
I got this working by having Steam installed, disabled the network connection and start the game with Launcher.exe
It starts with some launcher in russian text but seems to work ok so far.

It is working, been playing for 30 mins without a crash.
Im running Windows7 ultimate 64bit.
I put left4dead2.exe en revLoader.exe on windows xp service pack 3 compatibility and on “run as administrator’
Start the game with revloader.exe and skip the 2 intro movies.
once it’s on loading screen press enter couple of times and alt-tab out (took a while first time 2nd time it went faster) when you are back in windows alt tab back in the game.
If u get passed that go to video options and disable multicore rendering.
Now u can do the singleplayer mode (at least i can) <3

We use anolder version of the loader in previous release – from there the error while in Loading screen. Now fixed with a workaround and the game should start for all of you, either if you are running XP/Vista/7.
Install the new files by copying them over the ones from the first release. An addition in this release is the LAN that is now enabled – so try your luck!!! Launch with the LAUNCHER.exe

#115 The .exe causes the computer to blue screen immediately, and then causes the computer to continually blue screen on startup. The client.dll just causes the game to crash after the intro movie.
None of these damn cracks work. Win XP service pack 2, crashes back to desktop after the video (whether you let it play or try to skip it)

I honestly do not get this mandatory Online play thing, with less than 25% of the planet even online, My opinion is that Online Gaming is a poor cop out to creating a good single/Coop story line. why develop a good story when you can just MMORPG the game and dumb it down to the number of Frags one can score…
I am not condemning the Multiplayer, I just beleive that there is room in the Time and Budget of these Single Player Only and Online only games to be both Online Multiplayer and Offline Single Player.
if I am to pay $110(au) then I want the most bang for my buck.
