Razor1911 gives us the scene release for L4D2. Curious whether this will be the same story like with Warfare 2… P2p was garbage, here’ the real deal. 1gb storage links will be added. * Crack only added

Description:

Like Left 4 Dead, the sequel involves the aftermath of an apocalyptic pandemic. There has been an outbreak of a rabies-like pathogen that causes infected humans to behave like zombies. The four survivors have to fight their way through the hordes of infected, using safehouses along the way to rest and recover, in order to reach extraction points. Left 4 Dead 2 is set in the Southern United States, starting in Savannah, Georgia and ending in New Orleans, Louisiana. Left 4 Dead 2 introduces four new survivors, whose backstory will again be provided through dialogue. Unlike the first game where there was no significant story development, Left 4 Dead 2 will feature a story arc.

After climbing a skyscraper in Savannah to achieve rescue, the survivors find themselves abandoned by helicopters, and make their way to the local mall after hearing word of a second evacuation point there (”Dead Center”). The mall proves to be overrun, and the four use a stock car to bust out of the mall and travel towards New Orleans. Finding the highway completely blocked by wrecked vehicles, the four are forced to travel through a still-operating amusement park, and start a huge fireworks-and-lights show in order to attract the attention of a helicopter pilot (”Dark Carnival”).

    With the help of cs.rin.ru forum

    Razor install + rzr-init.exe update + regfix + change date to 29.11.2009 before starting a game

    Finished 1st campaign over LAN with friend without a single problem. We both have same version, I just copy&paste L4D2 folder to his computer and he applied regfix + chage date trick. I don’t have steam installed or anything related to steam. I’m running Win XP SP3 32bit

    Such a shame ,rlslog has turned to CRAP.
    This was once a decent place where a guy could come and check what’s new on the scene.
    Now the site is down 80% of the time,not to mention all

    I agree Rslog is a sad nit riddled, bug ridden, scabby mess compared to what it was..it posts junk without ever testing anything in fact it never verifies the validity of any of its releases yet is so quick to make proclamations!..it has 0 credibility these days…and on top of all this its a nightmare to log on..so maybe they should change their name from rslog to rls-cant-log-on dot net!

    the real problem with rlslog, imo, is the huge number of people that post links upon links upon links, all with the hopes of gaining some kind of referral credit. the true discussion is ruined when you have to prune through 200+ comments with HUGE 1 DL LINK NO PASS comments.

    The editors should stick to posting the releases, applicable download links (INCLUDING USENET NZB!!!) and ban the referrer rapidshare spammers.

    I installed the rzr release, pached with rzr-init, imported the .reg file, changed the date to 29.11.2009.

    Still crashes to the desktop. Don’t waste your time folks.

    Crack from 134 tested and NOT working! Instant crash! Doesn’t even get to the video, worst crack of them all, by far!

    Anyhow, I got it working. You have to find out your seemingly unique GUID (procmon is your friend) and replace that in the reg fix (mine was different than the one in the .reg file at least). Then once you do that, it doesn’t crash while loading the game. No need to screw with the date either.

    It just works now :)

    I’ve read that also timezone should be change in some caes along with date change. Give it a try

    It works, actually. You just gotta execute the “rzr-init.exe” patch in the game directory after installation.

    Works, can load up the game get to the menu, but it seems like it is restricted to only playing online. I cannot select any other option to try get into single player, any ideas?

    Valve have updated the game. Joystiq posted 5 minutes ago that it is out. Now with the fixed game they can release the update with the the new crack. Hopefully soon.

    OK, here’s what sort of worked for me. Working with the standard RZR release, I then patched everything as per the instructions. I then got the crack from Post #161 (the rapidshare link) and applied it, as well as patching the registry.

    After making it to the main screen (which I’d previously been unable to do), it crashed again after a little bit. Changing the date to November 29 enabled me to start a game, but after five minutes or so, it crashed. That’s as good as I’ve been able to get so far. Any word on a PROPER rerelease?

    I also tried something similar, Firstly I applied the crack from #161 (L4D2_2.0.0.0 crack)
    Then I ran the registry fix and finally ran the rzr-init.exe,

    Got it to play longer than I ever did before (30 mins+) but still always CTD lets hope a proper will be along very soon
    (Im looking at you SKIDROW)

    Are you kidding me. Change the date. Change the time zone. I must admit, I tried it, but I should have bought the bag of poop the homeless man was trying to sell me. I probably would have gotten further with that. I’ll just go back to playing Borderlands and CODMW 2 and save some hard drive space.

    The razor crack old and new “DONT WORK” there is no cracked L for D 2 version out yet and if its asking for a key you have DL a retail version now posted on this site & to follow on other sites. Probably put there by the manufacturer so all you need to do then is buy the key! Makes sence

    RE #183, #184, #185 — I’d take this advice with a pinch of salt. The first patch seems to be in German and wants to do something with your registry and also make your Steam client German language — sketchy. Maybe it’s what needs to be done, but I’d be cautious unless you know the language and understand what it’s doing.

    So basically I downloaded the 2gb links, but when I extract the RARs i get .001, .002 files etc. I combine with HJSplit and I get rzr-l4d, no extension, I tried renaming to .iso, .daa, .mds, .img, nothing works!? Any ideas?

    @190 Proof:

    Not impossible. I have no doubt that eventually it will be properly cracked but it seems that Valve did a very, very good job at protecting this game. I recall other games that took forever to crack, for example Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory stood uncracked for over a year.

    1. Install Razor911 Install (wait for it to copy 20126 files or something like that, last file copied is yourewelcome.wav or something like that).

    2. DO NOT USE RAZORINIT.EXE. This will mess everything up!

    3. Use steam (google it and download it) and install it in your computer.

    4. Find the Left 4 Dead 2 demo from google. It should lead you to steam’s website where Left 4 Dead 2 demo is. Start downloading it but you don’t have to finish the entire download, you only need one little file from it.

    5. Go to Steam/steamapps/common/left 4 dead 2 demo/left4dead2/bin folder.

    6. Copy the DLL file called client.dll. It should be 6.46 MB.

    7. Paste client.dll in Left 4 Dead 2/left4dead2/bin folder. You can close steam now if you were able to successfully paste client.dll here.

    8. Download http://www.mediafire.com/?zv2tuootbjz . It’s a folder called steamup.zip.

    9. Open steamup.zip and copy the file called server.dll.

    6. Make sure you’re running steam that has SteamUp installed to it.

    7. On Garena, click Start Game.

    8. Pick a multiplayer game type, and if it has players in that mode, you’ll see them on the list that you can join.

    I hope this helps people play this fun game! I already tried to put each step in detail. I’m playing the game on Windows XP SP3. No need to change dates.

    First of all, for post #195, you put Launcher.exe, SteamUp.dll, and SteamUp.ini inside Program Files/Steam, that’s the main Steam directory.

    Nice to hear that it works for people now! Anyway, the reason why it is important for you to download the Left 4 Dead 2 demo using steam and getting the client.dll file from the folder directly is that, the client.dll file you download from steam is configured for your own computer only. That means your client.dll won’t work for anyone else, and the client.dll that others upload won’t work for you.

    Whatever steam did, I think it’s called “CEG” protection or something, seems hard to solve via normal cracking means. Hopefully somebody will be able to figure out a solution to it soon.

    @ proof it worked great for a little while it even picked the right player and showed my steam name for a while :D but then after a little while i got a weird error that pretty much said the disc wasn’t there :(

    I dont know what to say mate I (touch wood) havnt had a problem yet.
    So yours just wont start any more or is it CTD you could try a new client.dll file.
    Dont think steam have found out already do you??

    You need to download the L4D2 demo from Steam and take the client.dll from the demo and copy it to you razor L4D2 folder.

    And yes each file must be downloaded via Steams demo as they are unique to your computer

    Not had a problem with the cola or the chainsaw, I am using my Xbox 360 control pad (I know keyboard and mouse are better) and everything seems fine, Can you pick other things up ok??

    So far it has just been the chainsaw, cola, and the fragmentation box pickup. Because of your success with the 360 controller, I tried telling my game I had a gamepad and the rebinding all my keys back to the keyboard. No dice, still having issues with certain pickups. Kind of makes me wish I had a 360 controller hehe.

    I’m thinking it must be related to the demo ddl, but the game is still way more playable without all the crashy nonsense…

    I have had a go at creating a auto fixer hopefully the Client.dll is compatable with all machines.

    Make sure you have already installed steam and a fresh install of the game WITHOUT running the razor-init.exe,

    1. Download This file (http://rapidshare.com/files/312686491/L4D2.rar) and unrar the folder to the root of your C drive, i.e C:\
    2. Run the Patch.bat file they should be 5 files copied succesfull
    3. The game should now work fine

    Any comments welcome but no haters please if it didnt work for you try the manual way

    Update: A reinstall fixed the issue completely, so far I’ve been able to pick up the grenade launcher as well as the damn cola. So I believe I’m set.
