Launching a new website: Leecher’s Lair

I’ve managed to launch a new website after few days of work. I am pretty busy with keeping NewTorrents and Releaselog updated, so there’s no time for another regular weblog or a huge website, so I came to slightly different idea – filesharing portal offering links to new games, movies, music, or other software. There’re already over 100 entries in the database, and Leecher’s Lair is waiting for your first visit at a nice URL www.Leechers.info. Feel free to post all comments regarding this new project, it’s brand new, so there may be still some glitches waiting to be fixed. If you are interested in joining as a submitter of new content there, drop me a line at rlslog(at)gmail.com. I hope you will be satisfied…

    You may want to check the site’s look with Firefox, Martin – you have text falling outside of the colored boundries on the right, spilling into the other areas. :)

    2 Darkfall: yeah, i know about this, but I haven’t found any way how to change this. IE somehow wraps links longer than the width of paragraph on the new line, but Firefox doesn’t seem to have such a function…

    This is nice but I be you for one thing Martin… always put a non-rapidshare mirror, that 1 hour waiting line just sucks.

    I miss the old days of ftps links, rather then these upload sites. Anybody know a good FXP forum?

    I seriously hate rapidshare…especially seeing a movie and having 20-30 links to one movie. After each download link, I have to wait an hour? you insane? :D Either torrent, or ftp links are usually better. (or normal http links without any limits)

    In other news, the BF2142 BETA is on a.b.games (newsgroup) so if any of you use newsgroups… Check it out.

    I don’t know how to use newsgroups. And people keep saying that they’re not free anymore… Could anyone explain me how does it work? BTW, mIRC stills in good shape for the releases.

    If you ever think about using newsgroups, try giganews.com. It has more servers to use, then you will ever need. I’ve using that site little over a year now, it served me well so far.

    I’m going to switch over to Giganews in a couple of weeks too. But then that’s paying for it (10 bucks a months for a SUPER service that is) so most people here won’t do that but my ISP’s newsserver has served me well all these years. But now that I can afford to, I might as well give it a huge boost by paying for a payed newsserver so I can download faster and files stick around longer. Seeing how a movie could easily cost me 15 bucks I think paying 10 bucks a month for a payserver and downloading just 1 movie already saves me 5 bucks. [And seeing how I usually download quite a few movies and games every month it REALLY is worth it.]

    WOHOO!! I just helped two people!! You know this nice guy stuff is kinda cool…

    you can easily download 10 movies at least if not more with newsgroups.(A DAY) Each movie might cost 20 or more bucks? there are 30 days in a month…soo each day you can easily download so much you wouldn’t know what to do with. I have an unlimited account, and after downloading gigs of things I need, there is so much more left…I just don’t have enough cds for them all movies, I spent more money buying blank dvds! ;)

    i think the blog-format isnt very useful for the site. add an alphabetical list or something to get a quick overview over all releases on the site. i think that would improve it very much…

    i wanted to make it blog-like, because there’s a lot of DDL portals – I don’t want to add there every crappy release, but rather select these better ones, on working links, and without any stupid popups or spyware…

    oxyshare RUles you guys should use more this upload site i have download some movies with no problems from there cus rapidshare sucks 1 or 1.30 hour wait till next link really suck so keep on the good work and please no rapidshare links for big files

    The looks of this site are great! That new site is rather outdated to be honest with you. And what does it differs from this site? Rlslog is the best for all new scene releases and stuff. Im currently also making a site (just click my name and youll see). Its hard work, especially when you have school or work to do too. This seems a nice oppertunity to be respectful towards you ;) I always check this site daily for fresh ideas, love it! thnx.

    I have some servers with a lot of BW, if you want, I can did a service like RapidShare without waiting times :) (the Script seems to be not very complicated…)
