Wow looks like all of our TV editors are away or no one saw this pre, a day late/after it aired in the US. Well anyways, one of my favorite non-premium cable summer shows is back for another hopefully funny and kick-ass season. Now that Survivor and Office have had their season finales, the thursday night must-see-tv timeslot is open for Last Comic Standing, NBCs summer standup comedy, hit reality competition is back for its 6th season. And its bigger and better in all ways with contestants trying out from 6 continents and 20 countries for $250,000 & NBC talent contract, a brand new Honda Pilot, and the title of Last Comic Standing. FQM brings us a nice PDTV rip of the season opener.

Bill Bellamy continues as host in the 6th-season opener with English hottie Fearne Cotton joining him as co-host. The global quest to find the funniest comic begins with tryouts in New York City with Talent Scouts - Richard Belzer & Steve Schirripa; and Tempe, AZ with Talent Scouts - Fred Willard & Kathy Najimy, in this extended ep.

    Watched it and it was pretty good.
    I’m glad some of the ones I thought
    were good at being comics were first.

    I called every comic chosen! beat that, son!

    They were all good, not sure if I would have given it to the two singing parody liberals though. Think their brand of comedy is meant for the internet more.

    So far, they’ve picked a good crop of people to move on to the next round. I hope the trend continues. They used to pick some seriously BAD comics in previous seasons.

    I’d be interested to see if the two singing guys can come up with enough new material to get them through the challenges from week to week.

    @3 - i doubt it, those 2 brothers are lame as hell… it will be pretty sad if they make it past the semis in vegas. ;/
