La Bouche is a Eurodance/Dance-pop duo formed by Frank Farian in Germany in 1994, consisting of Melanie Thornton and Lane McCray. The first lead single, Be My Lover, was top 10 in fourteen countries, #1 in Germany and #6 on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 1995. It went on to win the ASCAPSweet Dreams climbed to #13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and to #1 on the US Dance Chart. award for the “Most Played Song in America”. Their second single from their debut album,Sweet Dreams climbed to #13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and to #1 on the US Dance Chart.
Their first album, entitled Sweet Dreams, went five times Platinum and nine times Gold worldwide. The second and final album, S.O.S., also known as A Moment of Love, was released in 1998, featuring the single “You Won’t Forget Me”.

Oh yeah, memories. Believe it or not but I was an extra in the video to “Be my lover” filmed in Berlin. Really tragic that Melanie Thornton plane crashed. That was a really weird year. First Aaliyah then 9/11 and then her. So many plan crashes in one year. Sad
It’s sad when real talent is lost in such a random tragedy.
La Bouche has always been a great inspiration.

Besides that tragic death I only have good memories. I had the greatest time shooting. It was like 3-4 hours waiting by getting totally drunk with the others and then finally dancing in the background for about 30 minutes or so. An experience I will never forget. Thank you and R.I.P Melanie Thornton
