Kylie Minogue - X (2007)

I guess there’s someone running out of ideas. It surely took endless hours to come up with so original name as “X”. Anyway, the new, tenth album from Kylie Minogue will probably have many fans and also people who won’t like it a single bit, but that’s just what current pop music is about. Expect a slight rock tunes in some songs. The album is also available on 1 gig USB drive, but I guess most people here will prefer 60 meg mp3 version…

Kylie Minogue returns with ‘X’, her first studio album since she was diagnosed with cancer in 2005 and the follow-up to2003’s ‘Body Language’. The Australian pop-princess has enjoyed a successful music career, following her departure fromAustralian soap, ‘Neighbours’. Her 1980’s pop sound has developed over the years to become eclectic and sharp, switching from electro to dance to pop and ‘X’ is no exception. Kylie is back and stronger than ever. ‘2 Hearts’ is an included single.

Traditionally, Kylie Minogue has been at her best attempting pure pop, not chasing credibility, but X–her tenth studio album, and the first since 2003’s Body Language–somehow pulls off the trick of being both. With production credits split between old hands like Richard Stannard and Guy Chambers and new faces like Calvin Harris, the Freemasons and Bloodshy & Avant, the Swedish team behind Britney’s “Toxic”, X does a neat job of matching big hooks with forward-thinking production tricks.

Good lord, more manufactured pop music for the idiot masses. I can’t believe in this day and age, after Sluttney and Assley Simpson and how many others got caught lip syncing that people would still listen to this garbage.

If you don’t like it you don’t have to comment. This is obviously a big release so there is no reason it shouldn’t be here. Deal with it.

    @ OMG,

Not that I’m downloading this (honest!), but tell me how you can lipsync on a studio album:?: Anyway, stating all pop performers lipsync is like saying all emo bands are whiney rich-kid students (mmm…bad example ;)).

Also, if you actually have an answer to your own idiocy, please provide it in lower case letters, nippy gunt.

No wondering why the music section took just a few votes in the favorite section poll the other day. It just shows that nobody, and I mean nobody needs to have them reminded of albums that are so damn mainstream that even my grandmother would have gotten it by mistake if she felt like to (and thank God my grandmother has a decent musical judgement to not have to deal with such crap stuff).

Get rid of this section altogether or just decide to “promote” something worthwhile for a change.

    April 25th, 2008 | 12:04

Eh, Kylie’s alright. I wouldn’t buy it myself but my mother, sister and niece like her. And she’s pretty hot!
To the person who has a problem with lip-synching and “fake performers”: It’s stupid to criticise pop stars for lip-synching (unless they do it more often than not) because sometimes it’s necessary, you know? For example, even some rock stars in the ’60s did it, like The Beatles and The Stones, for tv appearances; sometimes it has to be done because the acoustics of a room where they want to shoot a performance are all messed up; sometimes a singer gets a sore throat or hasn’t been able to keep up their practice enough before a show. For God’s sake, even Pavarotti lip-synched on at least one known occasion, at the Winter Olympics before he died! So unless you’re talking about total fakes, like Milli Vanilli, get over it.
And I don’t even care if they don’t write their own songs (although Kylie tends to co-write hers nowadays). I’m a songwriter and musician myself, and I used to be an elitist rock prick, but then I grew up! The fact is, charisma is a valid, marketable thing, and if someone has that and can also dance and carry a tune and they get a job because of it, then good for them.
My ONLY complaint about manufactured pop is that in the West it’s become a total slutfest with too many bronzed supermodel-looking types for my taste. That’s why I support Hello!Project instead, especially their most famous group Morning Musume, who have a real positive vibe, sound and feel, almost video game-ish at times, sometimes with a jazzy or classical or even a hard rock edge. They sing in Japanese with a few “Engrish” phrases thrown in but don’t let that throw you off ’cause it sounds good even if you’re like me and can’t really speak Japanese. Best of all their singing is pretty natural, not “auto-tuned” crap — and they don’t oversing.
To Kylie fans: if you like female vocal dance-pop type stuff in general and you’re open to music in a different language, you might like a lot of Morning Musume’s stuff, especially their more recent material over the past two years, like “Aruiteru” or “Resonant Blue” (their latest one). You can find lots of their vids on YouTube and buy their music at CDJapan or YesAsia plus they have loads of merchandise too, including really high quality, cute photobooks of different members. ^_^

co-write at least some of her own stuff), the point is if they have the charisma and can carry a tune and dance pretty funky then I’m not gonna diss them.
However I will say that I think a lot of pop is one big slutfest where there’s too many bronzed-up performers who look waay too much like supermodels, which is alright if you’re into that concept of beauty and sexuality, but I’m not.
That’s why I prefer Hello!Project, especially Morning Musume! Yes, they’re Japanese. And almost everything they sing is Japanese, with a few “Engrish” phrases thrown in here and there. And no, I don’t speak Japanese. But they’re good fun to listen to, and they’re cute as well. They’re classed as J-Pop, but you could say they’re basically like, mostly dance-pop but with different sides as well, like a rock side and a jazzy side and so on. Also their singing is very natural-sounding for the most part, you know? It’s not perfect but it doesn’t sound all fake — it’s not pretentious and it’s not like it’s been through Auto-Tune or anything. I think a lot of Kylie fans could probably enjoy it. I know my mum does. She borrows my cds even though she doesn’t understand most of the words either. ^_^

of you Kylie fans could enjoy it, if you’re open-minded enough. My mum likes them AND Kylie, so there’s hope.

we don’t think it is reasonable to spend hundreds thousands dollars to buy a decorating watch. you can use those money to invest in other industry which will return you good profit.
here you just need to spend 100-200 dollars to buy a replica rolex watches.
Tudor replica watches are made by the rating 1:1 according to the original watches, and you can’t distinguish the original and the fake watches when you look at the surface of the watches.
