Another release today from group iMBT this time being a DVDRip of Jamie Kenedy comedy Kickin It Old Skool. Quality of this great considering it’s a DVDRip and the only other previous releases were 2 CAMs. Audio is nice being just standard mp3 audio. The movie has had mostly bad reviews but I myself generally don’t trust movie critics or anything like that that often so I’m probably going to watch this since I like Jamie Kenedy movies. If you’re looking for a comedy to watch or have nothing to do download and enjoy

It’s funny how a lot of people have started raving about usenet/news recently (calling people not using it lame/noobs/whatever. how one can be lame for not choosing a specific technology is quite weird on its own).
However, to get to my point, usenet is OLD…I mean really, really, really old. If you take e-mail and a forum you get usenet (or similar to a bbs, but if you know what a bbs is you probably know what usenet is too :))
It’s roots go back even further than teh old mighty internet, back in those days messages/posts where sent between hosts using UUCP (unix-to-unix copy) over x25-lines or other connections. Sure, when arpanet (that’s what you kids refer to as internet today) began usenet eventually found it’s way there too.
Binary content is also nothing new on usenet, alt.binaries have existed for a loooong time (So if you think your using the latest get-free-movies technology, you are just sooo wrong).
The reason a usenet account costs money is because usenet is a decentralized system with no authoritative root. All servers participating in the usenet system have all data, that means that a usenet server sends and receives A LOT of data. I talked to an ISP-owner a few years back and their heaviest server was their usenet-server and it shuffled terabytes (yes, thats terabytes, TB) of data EACH day.
If you’re lucky your ISP provides the usenet service for free, and with even more luck alt.binaries isn’t censored.
A favorite argument in favor of usnet seems to be speed. Well, just as with torrents your download speed is limited by the upload speed of your peer. With usenet this is your usenet-providers server which probably has a good connection.
However, if you use the right torrent-sites you’ll have no problems with speed, I can always max out my 8Mbit-connection on torrents.
The moral of this post is, learn your history before raving about something you really have no clue about. And calling people lame for not choosing your favorite technology is…well, lame

personally i love using usenet I have been using it for about 6 / 7 years now. Obviously its costs a littlew extra each month but with the technological advances its become easier and easier to use. Programmes can now auto par and extract your files once d/led and the retention has gone upto 100 days. Its so easy to use now compared to way back when.
But then in saying that there are still stuff i use torrents for.

To the guy saying usenet still depends on your upload speed, that is false. sure you can match usenets speed on torrents but you know thats not all of the time. If you have a premium usenet provider you get 100% of your download speed 100% of the time. Try doing that with torrents when assholes are not seeding or on some old file that has 0 seeds, you will be waiting for days. Anytime I want I can get files on usenet, even 4gb dvds posted 150 days ago will be DL’d at full speed in about 30 minutes, I remember waiting a whole day sometimes with torrents. I dont mind paying $15 a month for those download speeds alone, and there is thousands more times the content than any torrent site so its more of a convenience than anything. Usenet FTW lol at all the torrent n00bs

Very good quality, even looks good on my 60″ plasma which I usually only watch at least 720p movies on. The movie was alright, but if you have seen one Jamie Kennedy movie you have seen them all. Good for a quick laugh though.
