Kerio WinRoute Firewall v6.4.1.3519 x86-x64-SSG

SSG group released Kerio’s WinRoute Firewall, which comes in 2 editions, one for x86 (32bit) and other for x64 (64bit) based systems.

Description:

Kerio WinRoute Firewall sets new standards in versatility, security and user access control. Designed for corporate networks, it defends against external attacks and viruses and can restrict access to websites based on their content.

Kerio WinRoute Firewall, certified by ICSA Labs in the Corporate Firewall category, includes detailed rule definition to perform stateful inspection and protocol inspection of all outgoing and incoming Internet traffic. A network rules wizard assists in the rapid setup of the firewall.

Kerio’s built-in SSL-based VPN server works in both client-to-server and server-to-server modes, allowing both branch offices and remote workers to securely connect to the corporate LAN. Clientless SSL VPN allows remote users to connect securely to the corporate network for file sharing from any computer with a browser and Internet connection.

Kerio WinRoute Firewall provides optional virus scanning of inbound and outbound email, web traffic, and FTP transfers. In addition to a version with integrated McAfee Anti-Virus, there are several other anti-virus options to choose from.

The integrated IBM Orange Web Filter option blocks users from accessing to up to 58 categories of web content, reducing legal liabilities for corporate and educational environments.

Just seems unnecessary really.. Too many firewalls around these days. Can’t be bothered, I just want protection on the internet.

This is not just a firewall!
It is also a very powerful router, something windows always lacked, when it comes to networking…

A security suite “all-in-one” is generally NOT a fitting idea for a system.

You should use different a-v, firewall, spy/ ad-ware detector, etc, etc.

If you think about it, you would know why. As a rule of thumb always think negative… But keep a positive outlook, for yourself that is.

I do appologize for this additional posting.

But this firewall is quite technical for n00bs. Any n00bs that are willing to explore and want to get to know about VPN’s and Network firewall/ router settings should go ahead and get this. Otherwise, scared n00bs should STAY AWAY.

This isn’t a firewall for client PCs.

And SSG releases of this app are known to pretty much not be 100%. Check your logs in a few days, you’ll see. But there is another crack (in russian) around for it that does.

I like the funcky warning message in this text box…Might I suggest it only appear before the 1st time you click in the box instead of every time the box is not selected? Text covering text doesnt look very nice…

Anywho, personally I believe the freeware Comodo Firewall is more than enough for most people, even though it turns super pirates off by already being free…It is rather funny, really. The COMPLETELY free firewall outdoes just about any commercial firewall available. Careful, though. Comodo can get a bit too “zealous” in the fact that it can even block applications from accessing your keyboard…Generally, though, the automatic rule maker catches most computer usage…

As for antivirus (offtopic), I use Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition (NOT NORTON! Norton is a bloated piece of crap!). Ive heard good things about NOD, but the cracking system usually doesnt work very well while Symantec has no cracking and works for lifetime…Plus, there arnt many releases for 64-bit versions (at least when I look…).

    February 14th, 2008 | 22:44

The Patch/Key works….you just gotta f around with the version number…and once you mess up once your not able to re attempt the patch on the same .exe.

I cant remember the actual version format I used tho. If anyone gets it to work again document it here
