Please stop posting music organizers, because obviously some people here have very weak nerves, so they can’t stand other people using different players… ;)

I just use MP3TAG and it works great, tag>filename and filename>tag renaming, case changing etc.

Check the wikipedia article (aka “i’m not spamming, really” lol):
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mp3tag

Best of all, it’s free! :P

    Kay,

Take a look at “ImTOO Audio Encoder”.

    Simple and works properly.

You will need the latest codecs for best resuls.

Foobar2000 does a fine job as well.

Don’t bother using this, there are way better (free!) tagging programs. Personally i’m very fond of Picard (available @ http://musicbrainz.org/)

    Kay,

“ImTOO Audio Encoder” encodes and tags Audio files.

“ImTOO Audio Maker” appears to do more than encoding and tagging, like ripping and burning.

If you want a monster of an app that does just about anything you might need, take a look at MediaMonkey at http://www.mediamonkey.com. There is a FREE version that might do all you need but you will want to replace the default MP3 encoder in the free version with free LAME MP3 encoder to get unlimited encoding (and the best MP3 encoder as well).

From MediaMonkey — the free version of MediaMonkey includes a time-limited LAME MP3 encoder. If you’re so inclined, you can manually replace it with the free LAME encoder, or you can just upgrade to MediaMonkey Gold.

You can see the differences between the free version and the Gold version on their download page.

It all depends if you want several standalone apps to do specific things or want a swiss army knife to take care of everything in one app.

You can’t go wrong with any of the apps I recommended. It really is personal preference.

for renaming, I have yet to find something better than Tag & Rename.

for audio conversion options, dbpoweramp is unbeatable.
