I don’t think men are better comedians than women. Women tell a story and seem to keep it up, as for most men comedians, they keep changing the subject over and over..one liners, a one liner might be a great starting point if it is funny, but male comedians don’t seem to keep up. As for a women, they seem to be a bit more structured. The downside to their comedy is that if they don’t rapidly change a bad joke, they are bound to fail. As for Kathleen madigan, I love her comedy style. She “cracks me up” I love’er lol

There have been great female and male standup comics. Gender has nothing to do with it. Kathleen Madigan tends to be a bit slower in her verbal cadence, and more sarcastic than some. I do believe that make and female comics do perform a bit differently. Men can be a bit bolder and grittier, where women I think have to finesse abd steer a routine a bit more. Men also have to be able to “listen” to a female, to get the nuances and subtle humor of some of the jokes. Furthermore sometimes the jokes have a bit of a lead in set=up story, so peeps looking for the fast one liners may be disappointed. Guys, if yoiur wife or girl says you never listen to me, beware a female comic!

Men and women are wired differently, thank God! None of this is meant to be sexist, just some explanation.

For a real life example… look at Ellen Degeneras. A very famous female comic. If yoiu see who attends her shows, or goes to her stand-up performances, you will see more women. She draws from her real life and it is bound to happen. She can tell a joke, and finish it off with a twist of her head, and an expression and every woman knows and laughs at.

Anyway, those are some thoiughts.
